Which Pete Yorn song? I haven't heard the official word of his third single yet. "Crystal Village" is the latest I've heard of him. Sincerely, Noah Eaton I don't know the name of it but the station in Newfoundland plays it every night on their Top 10 @ 10.

You know that song, "Our house! In the middle of the street! Our house! In the middle of the street!"
I don't know who sings it but the verses sound EXACTLY like the verses in 'Just My Imagination' by the Cranberries!

Stephanie Mills's new single "Can't Let Him Go" sounds like Mary J. Blige's "Missing You".

Leona Naess - "Charm Attack" Plumb - "Real"
I just realized this the other day. Plumb's song is so close that it almost sounds like she sampled Leona Naess.

The choruses of Finger Eleven's "Good Thing" (which I just had re-identified for me today after forgetting what it was for so long) and Trapt's "Still Frame."
Oddly, I heard them played simultaneously on two separate stations on Wednesday night.

One of Tonya Mitchell's songs sounds exactly like Whitney Houston/Deborah Cox's "Same Script, Different Cast." I think it's called "Stay."

Remember "Undercover Angel" by Alan O'Day from the summer of 1977? There are two songs that sound a lot like that song. The first one was more recent. When I first heard "Missing Your Love" by Jonny Lang in early 1998, I thought it was a slow remake of "Undercover Angel" because the chord progressions at the start of the song sound very much alike. The other song that sounds like it goes back a bit further, to the beginning of 1980. Steve Forbert had a Top Ten hit called "Romeo's Tune". The choruses in both that song and "Undercover Angel" sound so much alike that you can sing one of them while listening to the other. Also, back when "Soldier Of Love" was charting in 1989, Scott Shannon, of the "Rockin' America Top 30 Countdown" said that there was a similarity between it and the start of "Undercover Angel". The notes are the ones that I thought sounded like "Missing Your Love".

Sum 41 - "Still Waiting" Nek - "Almeno Stavolta"
I can't figure out if the Nek song is an actual sample. If not, Sum 41 may have ground for a lawsuit! They sound so similar.... except Nek is more like a Sting type so his song is more Hot AC/AC sounding.

Matchbox Twenty's "Disease" sounds like Carly Simon's "You Belong To Me," especially that part leading up to the chorus.

Do you mean "Good Times" or "One Thing"? I would guess "Good Times", because although I haven't heard that song, the choruses of "One Thing" and "Still Frame" sound nothing alike.

Or maybe they covered the Fine Young Cannibals song Songs that sound too much a like: Sublime - "What I Got" The Beatles - "Lady Madonna" Sum 41 - "Still Waiting" A - "Old Folks" (two years before Sum's song) I forget what song it is, but there is one song on OutKast's Stankonia album that in retrospect sounds a lot like "Hella Good".

I always thought "Just Like a Pill" by P!nk sounded like "Up All Night" by Unwritten Law in some parts during the chorus.

How about Trapt's "Headstrong" and Trapt's "Echo" fitting name. Speed up Echo and change the key, you'll have Headstrong.
I'd like to add Jennifer Hanson's 'Beautiful Goodbye' and Sheryl Crow's 'My Favorite Mistake'.

I think Britney Spears was listening to "Faint" by Linkin Park and liked it so much that she had to go out and record "Toxic".

I mean, we can't blame Vanessa Calrton for copying Alicia Keys because she plays the piano. Just a thought.

I kinda think that Overload by Sugababes and Make Over by Christina Aguilera sound alot alike and Watcha Doin Tonight by Liberty X sounds like Dirrty during the verses.

"Emotions" by Mariah Carey sounds suspiciously like "Best of My Love" by the Emotions from 1977...even using their name as the song's title! At least IMO

yes, but that is considered a tribute to the Emotions, I guess.
Like Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam in the 80's with Head To Toe. It was a 60's Motown tribute-type song, mentioning the Supremes in the otherwise contrived line "body SUPREME"...
She also sings "You can’t hurry love", the title of a Supremes song, covered by Phil Collins in the 80's.
Say, this is a great idea for a topic -- artists doing tributes to other artits. Like Santana's Smooth, which was a tribute to ... the Santana sound of the 70's LOL!!

Speaking of "Smooth", Matchbox Twenty's hit from late 2002, "Disease" sounds a lot like "Smooth". That's probably not a coincidence, since the lead singer of Matchbox Twenty provided the vocals on "Smooth".
When I first heard Father MC's "I'll Do For You", I thought it sounded sort of like "Best Of My Love". Little did I know that he was sampling another disco hit from the late 1970s, "Got To Be Real" by Cheryl Lynn.
Another Mariah Carey song, "Can't Let Go" sounds a lot like "Something In My Heart" by Michel'le, which appeared on AT40 for about a month. It never made the R&R chart, though. Maybe that had something to do with the way CLG went to number one on R&R but not AT40 ;)

how about ALL of Jagged Edge's slow songs? I can't STAND them anymore-- I never liked them much in the first place. But surely you all agree "Walked Outta Heaven" sounds painfully like "Let's Get Married" and "Promise". You can substitute the lyrics for one into another and it works lol.

A reason why The New York Daily News music critics called Jagged Edge's Hard album the worst album of the year.

Kurt Howell's " Does Love Not Open Your Eyes" has a vague similarity to "I Wanna Know What Love Is" by Foreigner. Dick Clark pointed this out on his old show "Countdown America" when the Kurt Howell song was charting in January, 1993. I didn't think they sounded too familiar, but I taped the Kurt Howell song and listened to it, then Foreigner's 1985 chart topper and realized they do sound somewhat alike.

The chorus of Boyz II Men's "End Of The Road" sounds exactly like the piano part in the first several seconds of The Spinners's "Love Don't Love Nobody".
The chorus of Mariah Carey's "I Am Free" sounds exactly like the piano part around 0:23 in "Love Don't Love Nobody".

There's a recent Finger Elevn song where they say "try to remember" in the chorus, and it sounds exactly how justin timberlake sings "cry me a river"
