k, Finally got to hear the song. I didn't realize the title was actually just one word "anomoly" (sp?). Incubus are great with their songs. This one is great too!

I really like this. It's actually the first single I've liked from them since "Wish You Were Here."

www.myspace.com/incubusIncubus just added two other new tracks from the record, "Dig" and "Love Hurts", to their MySpace page. Both tracks have great mainstream crossover potential I feel, especially "Love Hurts", where Boyd's lyrics are more accessible than usual and the sound stays pretty consistent from beginning to end. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

The album is great. Some pretty heavy material too, which I didn't expect. Reminds me a lot of Make Yourself.

I think this is their best album since Make Yourself. A Kiss To Send Off and Light Grenades (title track) are heavy and awesome songs. At some point I think one of those has to be a single, and I also really like the sort of mello song Rogues, which may also be single material.

The whole album is streaming here, though you'll have to deal with annoying "sneak peek" voiceovers. Anyway, I must agree that this album is awesome, and definitely better than their last two. I'm not sure if I'm ready to say how this album compares overall to SCIENCE and Make Yourself, but I do think that this is perhaps the best representation of the full range of this band's talent and versatility. I'd go with "Dig" as the second single and "A Kiss To Send Us Off" third. If they go beyond that (which they very well could), "Love Hurts", "Diamonds and Coal", and "Rogues" would all be good choices. Meanwhile, this song has lost its bullet, while MCR somehow keeps managing to hold on to it. I can only hope that the release of the album next week will result in a spike in airplay, or otherwise "Snow (Hey Oh)" will probably be the next #1.

I was somewhat taken back at how light this was upon first listen, as I was expecting something dynamic and heavier like "Megalomaniac" or even something like "Make A Move". It even sounded like the Strokes at first.
I think "Light Grenades" would be a great second choice, as it is heavier, and I really doubt any song from them could crossover, especially if "Talk Shows On Mute" couldn't, which was as, if not more, pop-friendly than "Drive". They've been jipped on pop considerably in the past, which is quite unfair.
And I'm growing sick of "Welcome to the Black Parade". I'm ready for single #2 there as well.

They've been jipped on pop considerably in the past, which is quite unfair. The pop adds date for "Talk Shows on Mute" was pulled, and I don't think the song was that pop-friendly anyway, mostly because the lyrics wouldn't hit home for most pop listeners. It might have done fairly well at Hot AC though, and certainly AAA. But I think that "Love Hurts" and "Dig" both have a much better chance of crossing over than "TSoM" did. As for "Light Grenades" (the song) being a single: it would certainly show another side of the band that we don't hear often on the radio, and maybe attract some new fans, but I don't know if their career is in good enough shape for them to take a risk like that. I still say that "A Kiss To Send Us Off" and "Rogues" are the best bets at maintaining their rock audience.

I think "Love Hurts" has some strong crossover potential, though Incubus probably isn't making a real interest in attempting to anyway and want to remain identified as a solid Alternative band. "Dig" also has an anthemic vibe that could resonate to other formats, though the production I think will sound too good for radio unlike "Love Hurts". Sincerely, Noah Eaton

This song is just great. I can't stop listening. I honestly think it's one of their best yet.
Tuesday, oh yes!
