Yeah....they don't scream that much in their songs. And "Was It A Dream?" is a great song

I've only heard The Kill and Attack. The screaming isn't bad, but it gets annoying fast.

The bridge is the peak of the song, and the rush extends all the way to the end. If I'm not just casually listening to it while involved in something else distracting, the bridge makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time.

The video is being shown on MTC on November 20th. And you can now pre-order the ABL re-release on amazon.com, but the cover is HORRENDOUS.

I look at that cover and I'm not sure who should sue, Deadsy or Slipknot.

Now that it's November, the screaming in "The Kill", especially at the end, sounds not only grating, but also quite pretentious. This song doesn't necessarily conform to the rest on the album, and as someone mentioned earlier, it really does sound like something from their last album.
Damn, they are ripping off Deadsy and Slipknot? Come on, guys.

This is the image we're talking about. The Slipknot part comes from all those creepy masked faces, although I guess you could also say Mudvayne or Disturbed's Ten Thousand Fists as well. The Deadsy part comes from the skulls, symbols, and overuse of red. I know that's always been a part of 30 Seconds To Mars, but I've always associated it with Deadsy from the beginning, and Deadsy's been around a lot longer. Which is funny because originally, the song "93 Million Miles" from the self-titled had the lyric "It's like a Deadsy song, pretty but something's always wrong", so it's kind of an interesting turn of events that the band would borrow so heavily from their image.

Its at #23 on Alternative with a bullet of +78 and #54 on Active Rock with a bullet of +46. I'd say once The Kill slows down more, this has potential to be a big hit as well.

So it's doing okay. I can't see The Kill slowing down soon, unless it already has.

I LOVE this now. I hope it picks up a bit on ALT though. It took off really, really well.

The video is out in a week, I can't wait! After "The Kill" dies down more, I'm sure this'll become HUGEE. Bigger than "The Kill" I'm kind of hoping. I like the sound of this more, but the lyrics to "The Kill" more but they're both spectular imo.

This probably isn't a great comparison, considering :30STM and RHCP are both at very different stages in their careers.
But I don't understand how "Snow (Hey Oh)" can pull 300+ spin gains in its third week on the chart, while "Tell Me Baby" (in its 20th week) is now below -200, while "From Yesterday" is now having trouble pushing its way out of the gate while "The Kill" is still hovering at 1800 spins in its 40th week on the chart.
30 Seconds To Mars is suffering from mild recurrentitis and yet RHCP are experiencing exactly the opposite. Hmm...weird.
This truly is an amazing song, and I bet it will hit top 5 but not go to #1.

30 Seconds To Mars is suffering from mild recurrentitis and yet RHCP are experiencing exactly the opposite. Hmm...weird. That's a good point. I think a possible reason is that radio feels safe putting a third single by a well-established artist into high rotation very quickly. In the past, radio has been reluctant to jump onto follow-ups from artists coming off of their first big hit. Shinedown's "45" (on active rock) took forever to reach the top 5, and it didn't even have to deal with its predecessor. (Airplay for "Fly From The Inside" rapidly decreased after hitting its peak.) If I remember correctly, Trapt's "Still Frame" and Three Days Grace's "Just Like You" also had long trips to #1 active. It's annoying. I wish all singles would rise to and fall from their peaks like RHCP singles. I think that once "From Yesterday" makes the top 20, it will move much faster. I don't understand why airplay is still so low on active rock.

Um, at this point, nothing the band could ever do has even a remote chance of matching or surpassing "The Kill." I said the same thing about somebody who thought "The Pot" would blow the success of "Vicarious" out of the water. Needless to say, that was early summer, and 20 weeks later, "The Pot" is still slowly climbing the charts. I think, quality-wise, this beats out "The Kill", and it very well could match the peak, although I doubt it spends more than 32 or so weeks on the chart. Which, lol, is quite an accomplishment as it is.

Calm down. It's only a music video. ROFL when I read that I pictured little kids being all excited and then a teacher saying that. I'm weird, I know.

The video is on mtv.com now (the 14 minute long film version). It was pretty cool, but boring a tiny bit.

I absolutely LOVED the video.
I'm kinda wondering about the short version & what parts they'll use.

These guys are just masters of the high-concept arthouse music video. I definitely need to check out the long version of the video.
It's just great to see that some artists still take the music video as an artform seriously.
