According to Amy Lee at a recent concert this will be the third single from The Open Door.
I wouldn't expect anything more about this until later in the spring.
Good choice, but I'd have wanted them to risk with Lacrymosa.
Sweet Sacrifice and Weight of the World would have likely been ignored ala Everybody's Fool.
This song has a nice hook.
***************************
After fan reaction on their major boards, the label and the band decided to change the single choice to Sweet Sacrifice.

Yeah, this song's chorus is amazing and instantly catchy. Don't know how radio-friendly it is but hey, it might do well.

It's not confirm yet but it's likely that it will become a single so is Good Enough, This song though I'm not fond of it, it has the best lyrics they have ever done.
I would also like to see Cloud Nine as a single.

Should've gone with Sweet Sacrifice. This song, although it's hook is catchy, gets on some people's (including myself) nerves.

I'm fine with it, but a little surprised since it's the next to last track on the CD. I would have gone with "Like You" if it weren't a second straight slower song, or "Cloud Nine" maybe.

They changed their minds. New single will be Sweet Sacrifice. Much as I like ATILF, I think they made the right/safe choice.

Works for me! They needed something a little harder, I think.

This is the actual post by Amy on Evthreads concerning about ATILF and SS and I think that it's official that SS is the 3rd single.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUOTE Change of Heart
Well, after looking at these posts, I'm sure you guys will like this- Terry and I both felt kinda the same way about ATILF as a single- its a great song but we really had our hearts set on Sweet Sacrifice or weight of the world- but the label was really hell-bent on ATILF. In the end, after (youre not going to believe this!) actually listening to the fans reactions on the boards etc., they agreed we were right and changed their minds! So here's the big news- we are now going with sweet sacrifice for the third single. ROCK METAL. I'm stoked. Thanks for speaking up about what you think! All we needed was a mob! Love, amy
ps- dont be bumbed about lithium, its just now getting good play. (it was only added officially this month, so it was a late start but it is still doing well! keep requesting it!) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lacrymosa should be a single, the Mozart sample is hot and the lyrics are hooky and easy to relate to.

We're getting this sooner now that "Lithium" was the big flop that it was.

Lithium isn't even on the Mediabase Alternative chart anymore. I don't understand how that is considered a recurrent when songs that have been there for over a year like the The Kill isn't.

Why did it flop? It was good. It simply wasn't meant for the current state of rock radio which is a shame because it is a really good song...however I still think it will be at least a moderate hit on pop radio.

It's too soon well for the U.S anyways but for the rest of the world I guess not, it would be cool to have two different songs on 2 different format, but May or June would be a good release for this single.

I don't know how well this will do since I don't think its that radio friendly, however I think its a much better song than Lithium. A few stations seemed to have jumped the gun a little early and have added it to their regular rotation, so we'll see what happens in the near future.

Evanescence will be releasing an I-Tunes exclusive live show.
The show will be taped tomorrow as they will be performing at the grand opening of the new Pearl at the Palms venue in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Pearl at the Palms is meant to be a live venue with the intention of recording live CD's and is, according to the Maloofs (the owners of the venue), the first of its kind.
Originally Tool was scheduled to open the venue and tape those shows for a CD/DVD, but due to an injury to one of the band members that will not happen.

Meet Korn, Vinnie Paul (of Pantera), and Atreyu virtually! Be the first to hear the annoucement of FAMILY VALUES TOUR 2007! They will be in-world on Monday, 3/26 @9pm EST!
Apparently it'll be Korn, Ev, Hellyeah, and Atreyu.
Not bad, I guess. It's still as dysfunctional as the first announcement lol.

I quite like this song. I like I might like it more than 'Call Me When You're Sober' which was, although a Top 10 hit for me, a song that I'm also super burnt out on as well.
I'd hope that this does better than 'Lithium', which I wasn't a fan of.

Although I don't like it more than "Call Me When You're Sober", I do like this a lot more than "Lithium".
I hope this saves the era, because I don't think they've been doing very well lately. :(
