I just heard it on the radio...Literally minutes after midnight..It's good, but it's definately "Somewhere I Belong." Can I get a WTF at the lack of Mike?

I can see this being top 10 before next week. Unfortunately, the song's not good enough to maintain that.
It's different for them...but the rest of the album needs to be better than this.

I thought the song was really cool. It sounded more like a natural band with more natural sounding rock drums and guitar tones as opposed to a ProTools-regulated robot whose distorted guitars had all the edge scrubbed out of them. This will still be a first-week purchase for me, but this will be the deciding album as to whether I'll continue to buy their records.
Rick Rubin-produced Linkin Park is a great idea. Having heard "What I've Done," I'm curious as to what a Steve Albini-produced Linkin Park would sound like now.

It would take a lot for Albini to work with LP. Then again, I'm sure something to the tune of a few million would be something even someone as anti-corporate as he to ignore.

Yup, that was pretty much their redeeming factor in my eyes. The production was tightly engineered & unnatural, something I find very appealing as an electonica fan.

Well, about 150 replies before the whole song even leaked...I'd say it's a good sign on the hype. It will be really interesting to see what the total spins so far will be on the tuesday afternoon update. And the album is 6 weeks away...Will the single sell the cds? I've looked over some Linkin Park boards and most are favorable on the song. I looked at the songs discussion on Last.FM and looks of people seemed to like it. I think the album will sell well initially, but won't be 4-5 singles deep like the previous. They'll probably rush a next album in about 2 to 2.5 years and that will pretty much be it for Linkin Park's discography.

A still from the WID video (chopped up). And a still from the Mudvayne video for Happy?Chester kinda looks like Chad (Mudvayne). Gloves and all (except for the sunglasses which Chad does have a pair resembling those, but who doesn't?) I must just find it amusing because Mudvayne is one of my favorite bands out there... Damn me for noticing the stupid things! If no one else does, that's alright. I got my kicks out of it.

Well I do. I love the interplay between Chester and Mike in the video. Nice to see that Mike is doing something of value after all.

I'm really liking this. It's not a huge departure for them, but it seems like they've tightened up their songwriting, and I'm glad they went for a more organic production style. I think it kinda has an Incubus "Megalomaniac" vibe to it, but maybe that's just me. In any case, I'm looking forward to hearing where they go with their new album - I've always felt like they had the potential to be better than they've been.

Let's see how much this 263 LINKIN PARK What I've Done 9 0 9 0.034 changes between the 3AM update and the noon update. It's up a whopping 11 spins now all from a station in Hawaii. I'm assuming this will surely change in the next update. I refuse to listen to the two horrible Alternative stations here in Orlando to see if they have been playing it today.

THis will all but certainly either debut at #1 like "Dani California" did last year, or reach #1 within a week.

That is strange because I know a station has played it like 5-7 times alone this afternoon.
The acutal date is tomorrow

Well, they have it on their myspace so by my account it's officially released. FMQB had it scheduled for the 2nd & 3rd anyway.
