Thanks for the news; this has me excited. I like most of The Killers' music and I've always loved Lou Reed. Can't wait to hear it!

I am very excited to hear some new music from the Killers! It was a shame that Sam's Town did not perform as well as Hot Fuss.
Hopefully this will do well for them.

AbsolutePunk and FMQB both agree: the new single is "Shadowplay", not "Tranquilize".

"Shadowplay," of course, being a Joy Division cover...

I really like this ("Shadowplay", that is). It reminds me of Franz Ferdinand.

is that supposed to be a compliment? Even though I already have probably half of this album already, I still can't wait to own it legally! Oh yeah and Shadowplay is on I-Tunes today apparently!!

If it makes you feel better, "Take Me Out" is one of the only Franz songs I like.

I can sleep tonight now, YAY! Haha. I actually don't hate Franz. I like their albums OK but The Killers rock my world. I have seen them twice live and Sam's Town was my #1 album of 2006 (out of 50!)

Hey, for me "All These Things That I've Done" is right up there with "Take Me Out". But I cringe whenever I hear "Somebody Told Me", "Mr. Brightside", and "When You Were Young".

You shouldn't hate Franz, they helped pave the way for the sound that is making the Killers famous. Retreading the 80's ya gotta love it.

Peace, peace! I come in PEACE! I love everyone! If you saw my music collection, the only thing I don't have is Norwegian Death Metal (I can't abide satanists...) I even have Bollywood music (I was in India for 3 weeks for business last year and loved it). I just like to make trouble from time to time, haha. Even Rock Star has grown on me. I used to turn it off whenever I heard it but now I know the words. Shouldn't this thread title be changed to reflect the actual single Shadowplay or is the Lou Reed song still a single?

You shouldn't hate Franz, they helped pave the way for the sound that is making the Killers famous. Retreading the 80's ya gotta love it. They're good, but I've never liked classifying it as "retreaded 80's" material. The Killers' best song, "All These Things That I've Done" sounds more '70's than anything, and "Take Me Out" is a song that could be put in almost any decade. Most of the songs from the 80's were subpar at best, anyways. I want someone to retread the '70's, EFFECTIVELY. You tried, Jet, but it wasn't good enough.

The D4, the Datsuns, The Vines, Wolfmother etc. Quite frankly I think some of them did a great job.

Oh, not just Jet. The D4, the Datsuns, The Vines, Wolfmother etc. So the only type of music from the '70's was hard rock?

Oh, not just Jet. The D4, the Datsuns, The Vines, Wolfmother etc. So the only type of music from the '70's was hard rock? Well the only type I'd want them to try and bring back. Maybe some funk would be okay. Still this is in the alt/rock category, so I kind of assumed.
