Well, what I meant was having more bands like Queen and Zeppelin that, not only can they do hard rock, but a variety of other styles as well.
One can only dream.

Tranquilize wins the award for my least favorite Killers song so far. The kids in it are weird and it sounds like a mess in general...I am disappointed for the first time ever in this band.

...yeah, I think I tried asking for that and it didn't work. However, as I said in my previous post, the song is now available and I am not that happy with it, for a change. I do love Shadowplay but Tranquilize, not so much and I think it's mostly because Lou Reed's influence, as well as voice, is all over it...

This will be the first UK single, while we get "Shadowplay".

Edit: Listening to it now and it is indeed a Joy Division cover.
With that in mind, I don't like it. The original was incredibly intense where this is just... eh...
Nine Inch Nails are the only band to do a good job of covering Joy Division.
I could see The Killers doing a good New Order cover though.

I was just going to say...is this a JD cover? I can't believe no one else said anything.
For the record, LCD Soundsystem covered "No Love Lost" & it is good. So did the Horrors (and it's good, as well).

Thanks Nicholas, haha. I don't know why this thread name was changed though and there is a legit song out there called Tranquilize, as we can see from that track list and as I have said a few times, I have heard it. Couldn't someone have just started a separate thread for Shadowplay? Maybe because since all we talked about in this thread mostly was Shadowplay, the mods changed the name of the thread? Oh well. I would rather talk about Shadowplay anyway. I have to confess to ignorance of the original but on its own, as a part of the Killers' roster, I happen to really like this. As for that tracklisting, it sucks because I have 9 out of 16 of those songs anyway and I think it was somewhat cheap to include songs that were so old and readily available, like Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll, Under the Gun, and Michael Valentine, which were all included on the re-release of Hot Fuss. Who Let You Go was on I-Tunes, Move Away was on a soundtrack and as for All The Pretty Faces, Where The White Boys Dance and Daddy's Eyes have been all over the Internet as B-sides from Sam's Town. As for that different version of Sam's Town, I hope it was different enough to warrant a spot on this list. Even with all my whining, since I am a big fan of these guys, I will still buy Sawdust when it's released - I guess I just wanted more songs that I don't already have.

![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) Oh dear... www.youtube.com/watch?v=87cLyBR1JToThis might cause even more controversy than them covering Joy Division because I know a LOT of people who love the original of this. I didn't know it was gonna be a cover...

...and finally Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town (a Kenny Rogers cover, apparently...): www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TFfzRbs17YNow, the only thing I haven't heard/can't find are 4 and 5.

The idea is that the threads here are for singles, not for album tracks, and "Shadowplay" is the single here in the States, not "Tranquilize", although when I suggested it, I did not know that "Tranquilize" was going overseas.

I don't think "Shadowplay" is so bad. It is really similar to the original though.

The Killers will be releasing a new song next month entitled "Don't Shoot Me Santa" that was recently recorded as a charity record for the RED campaign.

Nevertheless, here's the awesome video for Tranquilize: www.youtube.com/watch?v=03w0BUzD0YcI love it. Brandon looks so handsome as usual & the video has a great dark, haunting feeling about too. Great song. ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif)

So is Tranquilize the official first single? God, for the last time, no. Shadowplay's already gone for adds and it's at #30 on Alternative.
