Please do not lock or ignore this. Many of us have discussed this. Why does a mod have to step in every single time there's a slight argument or debate? I don't understand this. Everything can't be perfect all the time. Arguing/debating is a part of life. It's also fun. I'd understand if things get extreme, it's good that you step in, but I'm starting to see you guys stop even the smallest argument over nothing. Why are SO many topics being locked? I don't understand this. Any topic that is slightly fun is being locked. It doesn't make sense. Off-topic means we can post anything, with restrictions of course. When something slightly fun comes up (like least favorite member), it's locked. Why? Many people wanted to have a part of that topic. Why close it? Because it'll create arguments? Read my first point. If uo don't like a topic, DON'T READ IT! It's only a message board. I don't think the mods job is to mother us. You just gotta keep things in line. Make sure things are posted in the correct forum and make sure things don't go overboard. Other than that, the mods are doing a great job, keep it up guys! I was just hoping for more leniency (sp?) Anyways, I'm done. I'm expecting a lot of people to come in here and get mad at me. Lemme just say that you're all the coolest peeps and it's fun discussing here! LOL! Bye guys! ah... cool ;)

I'm confused as to why my 'Waiting' topic got locked in the Music News Forum. Josh said it was because there was a 'Waiting' topic in the Your Opinion Forum (and then closed the topic so I couldn't reply). But isn't a topic on News different from a topic on Opinion? There are currently two topics on 'Slow' by Kylie Minogue in CHR/Pop AND Music News. Both are still open.
Also, why are chart topics getting closed is discussion is still ongoing?

i don't think the problem is with ALL the moderators.... as per se... i think the general consensus is that the guilt is being laid on one specific "administrator" which shall remain nameless for me... don't ask me, i shant say, and i'm not looking to defend myself, but all i can say... this isn't the first case like this.
EDIT:
what i'm trying to say, if people don't understand... is that there seems to be a major issue with the way one of the moderators is dealing with the apparent "arguments" or if a topic doesn't seem to please him... that's all

Also, why are chart topics getting closed is discussion is still ongoing? If a song is not a single, it gets put in the "Your Opinion Please" forum along with any additional information on the song. "Slow" is a single so it has one topic on news and one topic on chart statistics. As for the argument topics, I haven't locked that many. The ones that I have been locking are duplicates.

It's annoying when a debate gets going and I defend my point.. then I come back to what people replied and I see it locked and I can't defend myself again.

But my news on the Pulse Radio thing wasn't opinion. I suppose if codenut makes a topic about his radio station I can just post it there. Just try not to go overboard with locking topics.

It was my understanding that the format forums are restricted to discussion on songs and charts that are related to that format, Music News is restricted to news on songs, singles, albums and artists. Your Opinion Please is restricted to opinions on songs, polls, and discussions related to opinion. Personal Charts related to personal charts. Global Charts related to charts and chart info from around the world that don't fit into the format charts. So I *guess* the 'Waiting' topic on Pulse Radio should have gone in the Global Charts forum. I still don't think it belonged in the 'Opinion' one. The description under the Music News Forum is "Post news about songs, artists and album charts here.".

If you create a topic about an album track, it's usually because you want an opinion. What else were you expecting as far as replies go in a topic about it being played on Pulse Radio?

I was promoting the song to be a single here on the boards. And it was "news". I was reporting that the song was in high rotation on the boards' radio station. It's alright anyway. What's done is done. It doesn't matter anymore.

How high does the Sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know. :'( Excellent point. Why would Rob think people would come into this topic and get mad at him? I happen to agree 100%, but I see the difficulty in deciding exactly when enough is enough and when a topic has gone too far. While I may have on occassion been annoyed at the premature closing of topics, it's no big issue.

but I see the difficulty in deciding exactly when enough is enough and when a topic has gone too far. Yeah, people's definition's of that line is different.... but I think all of us mods are trying to use our best judgement... maybe one of us is a little more harsh (for lack of a better word) than the others, it all has to do with different definitions of when a line is crossed.

Obviously, as Matt's decisions have demonstrated, everyone's not going to be happy regardless. Personally, the only topics I decide to shut are those which are duplicates, which are obviously going nowhere, or those which have degenerated into petty bickering.
If I ever close a topic and you don't think it needed to be closed, feel free to PM me. If you can convince me that there is still a worthwhile discussion to be had, I'd be happy to re-open it.

Read my first point. If uo don't like a topic, DON'T READ IT! Tell me Rob, what good is going to come out of a "least favorite members" post? None. It's just going to stir up emotion and arguments, just like it did on the R&R board. Also, why are chart topics getting closed is discussion is still ongoing? I assume you're talking about the 10/10 Pop Chart thread (which was open for 13 days... go figure). Discussion may still have been ongoing, but it had nothing to do with the TOPIC. The last 10 or so replies were talking about mid-week Mediabase trends and stuff. Even the 10/17 chart topic had gone 4 pages before 10/10 was closed! Obviously, as Matt's decisions have demonstrated, everyone's not going to be happy regardless. Yeah, and the thing is, it's not even my sole decision the vast majority of the time. It would take both hands to count the number of board issues I've issued polls on or sent PMs to ask opinions. And people complain that they don't like this or that. Hey, you had your chance to say something!

I agree one certain person is really beginning to annoy me not going to name them.
One of my topics has been closed because there was a topic on the single and i made and era for the album which i see very pintless.
And my chart topics keep getting moved into that crappy global chart forum where no one even replies so i see that very pointless.

Save your breath. There's NO way a topic like "Least Favorite Member" will ever be tolerated because it will have absolutely 0 benefit and the repercussions of it will carry through to all threads in all other forums. Anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that; you're obviously just trying to play the devil's advocate.

If there's a forum for global charts, and you post them in the wrong forum, of course they're going to be moved. You need to stop complaining. It's your priveledge to post here, and if you think I'm the only moderator against you, you're very close to being banned again, something I have very little power over. You need to stop instigating.

I wasnt talking about you rebrith i have been getting pm's from a very rude member of the board. Is it Mineable telling you to stop posting fake UK charts since the real charts will have Nikki Webster and Angela Ammons at #1 and #2? ;)

Lol. I don't think I PMed AtomicKittenloud even once. He PMed me once asking for my a/s/l but I had to turn my game on and play hard to get so I never replied the favor. You have to work for it so I know your intentions are pure.
And Shadowblue, I am sorry but why would i want Angela Ammons at #1 on the UK charts? Her single "Always Getting Over You" was only released in France (and I'm not even sure how commercial it was!). Nikki Webster is #1 in Australia so u betta recognize! Shill!
