No. Janet's recent career moves have all been very sexual. Her latest album had a parental advisory sticker for sexual content. Are parents of children not going to buy the album because Janet is sexual? Then they wouldn't have bought "All For You". If anything, it will help her radio airplay. Hot!

She might get some bad press but LMFALW is gonna blow up huge. I predicted #1 before the show now I am almost positive about it.

Oh please... Yes,. it will get press, but it will not hurt her career. Only Janet can do that to herself by putting out bad music.

Apparantly there are a ton of calls going to CBS in complaint of this.
Local affiliates are giving the national number for the network in southern markets.
The backlash has begun.

No backlash, but a lot of pub.

She'll get a backlash against her career for sure, but it won't be necessarily because of the flash, it'll be because of Michael Jackson.

Well problem #1 is that there wasn't a pasty, problem #2 is that the move HAD to be planned, otherwise why was ripping on her shirt? you know?
There will be a backlash, but then again, how many young kids buy her records to begin with? If it is a fair number her sales will get hurt.

No, I don't think she will... why would she get a backlash though? It's just a boob...

So let me get this straight? It's okay to have her and Justin gyrating on television and basically showing all of the motions of sex and all that yet one scene of a boob and there's an outrage?! That's the stupidest thing I've heard in months! Some people rEALLY need to get a life!

WE'll never know if there would have been outrage just over that, because the breast exposure DID happen. The outrage is that kids of all ages are watching this thing, and just as you'd be outraged if a grown man exposed himself to some small children at a playground, you can see where people would be outraged that Janet was exposed to kids also.

Men expose their chests all the time. I'm sorry but a double standard is a double standard. In either case my gripe is kids were watching a show that promotes binge drinking and sex to begin with and no one say anything. They say something about a one partially covered breast that showed on TV for a split second. Maybe its just me but the alcohol & drug promotion would be more of my concern......when it comes to my kids.

I understand the problem you have with it, but you are absolutely incorrect that no one says anything about the alcohol ads and the sex in advertising. There are complaints every year by parents over just that thing. You, however, are taking on the decency laws which are certainly subject to scrutiny. However, the idea that a man exposing his chest is in some way the same as a woman exposing her chest is not an apt comparison. A woman's breasts have functionality that man's do not, and are part of a stimulus area with a very sexual connotation. I realize a lot of this is open to argument, but what is the case, is that if the majority of families deem the exposure to be innappropriate and something they trusted their kids would NOT see on prime time major network television, then the TV station has to answer to that. Just as people in the work place have to answer when a co-worker and the majority of co-workers deem a statement or conduct to be harrassment whether the intent was there or not. If you remove decency laws, then you run the risk of removing the protections that people currently have for harrassment.

Well I agree that it wasn't the place for J&J to do what they did and it was completely wrong and stupid, but its done now. The FCC will fine them and lets move on plsss.....

It was vaguely inappropriate, but come on -- European kids see breasts flashed on TV and on ads in the street all the time, and they're not the countries that have some ridiculous percentage of the population on anti-depressants.
Not only that, but I honestly think that any good parent would be able to explain to their child that what Janet & Justin did was inappropriate and why. Growing up in Manhattan I saw PLENTY of things worse than that, and my mother was mature enough to explain situations to me so that I somewhat understood what was acceptable and what wasn't.
So unless you're a parent who expects the media to raise your child for you, I don't see why you would care about something like THIS.
And I agree that the alcohol ads, impotency drug ads, and sexual references throughout the commercials and the rest of the show were far more damaging and offensive than 1.5 seconds of a titty.

It seems to me that the only people defending this are Janet fans without kids.

It seems to me that the only people defending this are Janet fans without kids. My parents didn't have a problem with it and I have three younger siblings. Some parents are just overprotective. Like a child does not know what a breast is. It's not like it was sexual simulation. It was a body part.

And I am definitely *NOT* a Janet fan, for future reference.

And the day that the majority of Americans agree with you on this issue will be the day you see such an act occur with no retribution. In the meantime, there is a standard in place for broadcasts that is to be adhered to. No one said that there wasn't totally twisted logic with our current laws, but it is very debatable whether it is better to let everything go, or crack down on the alcohol + adverstisements as well. King, I think we both agree that good parenting is far more crucial than any of these issues, but as with anything, if you do something that is against the law, you have to be willing to pay the price. While I will stick up for enforcing the FCC decency standards, I have to say at the time I really didn't think it was that big of a deal. You couldn't really even tell whether it was totally exposed or not, and they cut away fast enough that unless you drew attention to it, your kids probably wouldn't notice.

I'm not sure if I agree with that but I've pretty much stopped talking about it for the past day or so. To most of my friends with kids and my sis you has children it wasn't a big deal. They were offended at first but they've cooled off since. They said the media was making more out what happened than was there.
