Well, after having a spin loss of almost -200 about a week ago, Maroon 5 have surprisingly rebounded strongly and are all set to replace Usher for the #1 spot. Their bullet is rising (at the moment 233) and with just 3 spins short of the top, they should get there by the next update. D12 will probably peak at #2, as Hoobastank look ready to reach the top after Maroon 5.
Jessica Simpson may replace herself in the Top 10, though "Take My Breath Away" might remain at #11 when Usher likely passes her over the next week.
Nickelback may likely (and finally) go recurrent this week...however, "Someday" is not losing spins that quickly and may even spend one more week on the chart.

What happened to Ocean Avenue??? After having gains well over +500 last week, this morning's update only has then at ~+230! Don't tell me this track is already slowing down! That's not good news for sure.
While Toxic may be spending its final week in the top 10 this week, Britney's followup "Everytime" is making some nice gains for not going for official adds yet as it enters the top 50. I hope this song can at least get to the top 20.
Whoa, "One Call Away" is plummeting quick! I'm actually a little suprised at those huge losses. I thought this one might be a candidate for recurrent status one it fell below #20, but not at this rate.
Why are Nick Cannon and Murphy Lee losing so little! >:( Get out of the top 50 already!

What happened to Ocean Avenue? Why are Nick Cannon and Murphy Lee losing so little! Do you really expect those questions to be answered? Why isn't anyone celebrating J-Kwon's rapidly shrinking bullet? Will "Burn" ever take "Take My Breath Away"'s breath? Or will "Take My Breath Away" leave "Burn" behind in a scorching hot spot?

-I'm very happy over J-Kwon's shrinking bullet, only +36. -It appears that Usher's bullet is much stronger than Jessica's, give him a week and he'll pass her by. -Blink 182 made Top 20! Their bullet will rise fast and they'll be Top 10 in a few weeks. -BEP climbing ever closer w/ "Hey Mama", it appears this likely will be a Top 10 hit for them! :) - Jay-Z climbing too with DOYS, this is going to hit the Top 10 soon.

Usher refusing to yield to This Love is getting rather annoying. This Love gets to be 3 spins away and then all of a sudden a surge from Usher holds it off in the next update. Do you think a few annoying PDs are watching the updates and playing the song more often to keep it up there?

I am also happy for J-Kwon's shrinking bullet, but I'm glad he peaked where he did. "Tipsy" is a good song, deserves Top 10, but not Top 5.
Hoobastank is on FIYA! Hopefully Hoobastank & Maroon 5 will team up and not let D12 get into the Top 2. For this to happen, D12 must also slow down. Maroon 5 has to stick around as well, which I think is likely. I'm so happy they're going #1....they're also gonna break the 9000 mark. (Predicted #1 Schedule Usher > Maroon 5 > Hoobastank > Mario Winans > hmm Yellowcard? > Britney Spears?)
Beyonce will be at #5 by the end of the week... :o
I have a feeling Jessica Simpson will pick up and "Burn" will slow down by the end of the week...causing TMBA to enter the Top 10 and Burn to stay at #11.
I wish Blink 182 had exploded 2 months ago....when it was new and fresh and exciting. Stations never picked it up though and now I'm getting sick of it. I honestly thought it would rocket up to the Top 5.
If "Everytime" by Britney gains a lot this week and gets many adds, it could likely debut just outside of the Top 30, but probably not as high as the impressive #26 for "Me Against the Music"

I'm hopeing TMBA will get the #10 spot with Burn at #11 and With You down to #12.
8th World Wonder hopefully on the R&R chart she got to #20.
This Love I don't know how long it can keep up it's been on the charts for 13 weeks now.
The Reason is very close to passing D12 or closer than its been in a while. It looks like the nest #1.
Toxic drops fast and her next song appears out of no where.
When is Alanis going for adds? She has already proven herself on HOT AC!!!
Maybe Kylie's 3rd single will be the best of them all!! One Call Away & Are You Gonna Be My Girl & HeyMama :o
OCA & AYGBMG's plays keep dropping very fast and Hey Mama I think will get it's 13 or 14th week on chart, but is still going(could it be another top 10 ???)

Who goes recurrent this week, Nickelback if they fall below 20, Sheryl Crow, who else?

Why do Three Days Grace suddenly have a strong triple digit bullet (+238) when just yesterday having a minuscule double-digit bullet? Can't this track, which really isn't radio-friendly for CHR/Pop, go away?
It seems Hoobastank is sabotaging D12's chances to have the next #1 song following Maroon 5. Their bullet is just short of four-digits and is right on D12's tail by a mere 225 spins.
Black Eyed Peas get their next Top 15 hit!
Blink-182 go Top-20 for the first time since the "Enema of the State" era!
Switchfoot is still showing legs, and may still have a shot at the Top 20. They'll have to surrender chart buildup to Sean Paul and Jay-Z first, though.
Avril Lavigne and Outkast are both showing resilience with their latest singles. "Don't Tell Me" suddenly has a replenished bullet after being in the double-digits at one point, while "Roses" has graduated from double to triple digit territory.
Looks like Rooney is done for! (-5, slips to #35!)
The Calling is doing quite well out of the box with their latest! With a bullet of +234 at #72, it enters the Top 20 Greatest Gainers!
Lenny Kravitz and Britney Spears debut on the chart, both with currently promising bullets!
Trapt, Twista, and Petey deleted are next up!

Can't this track, which really isn't radio-friendly for CHR/Pop, go away? It went from a +86 to a +238 in the past 24 hours mainly because it (finally) debuted on RST40. I agree that it needs to go away though. Actually, she's down -20 spins from the final update last night. Last night she had 3757 and today she has 3737. I have my doubts that they'll go much farther, but keep in mind that they've played dead a couple other times. And while we're on the subject of songs that keep playing dead, lets hope Toby Lightman is done for good this time. She's down -16 right now.

Yay for Maroon 5. Their first #1. They should be able to hold it for at least a week.

Now, if only Usher would just fall fast so Maroon 5 won't have any competition for awhile. However, "Burn" is beginning to slow down in gains, but it's still doing well. The next #1 song will likely be Hoobastank, but not for at least two weeks.

I may start a topic sometime later this week when I have a chance, but is it possible for Maroon 5 to replace Hoobastank with the #1 song a few months from now with "She Will Be Loved?"

I think Hoobastank will probably get the next #1 but it is really a stretch to think it won't be replaced before a June release makes it all the way up there. I'd say no way.

Quantity?
I doubt 'She Will Be Loved' will be that big a hit. Top 15 if we're all lucky but I'd say prolly somewhere in the low teens for a peak. Although it is becoming the norm for a new artist or a returning surprise artist to have big hit after big hit nowadays, huh!?

I think maybe you haven't looked at the She Will Be Loved thread, a lot of people have high hopes and great predictions. Not to mention, everyone in these messageboards knows the charts better than 99.5% of the rest of the world, if not the best, and it looks as if an average of 1.5 is where She Will Be Loved stands. Just making a point, but I respect your opinion.

"She Will Be Loved" will be a colossal hit I bet. Possibly another #1 for the band, though I have a feeling some Urban or CHR/Rhythmic will bar it from giving Maroon 5 a second #1.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I am glad to see Maroon 5 at the top. Usher held them off a little too long, but today they finally hit the top and they should at least stay there for a week. I haven't heard She Will Be Loved, but I'll say that with the success of the first two singles, it'll be a hit. Anyway, back to the subject... The race for #1 is heating up. As we speak, D12's bullet is down and it's only slightly ahead of Hoobastank, who currently has a near four-figure bullet. Beyonce and Mario Winans aren't too far behind and also are posting huge gains. My guess is that we will see My Band start to fizzle out and peak at #3, as it will be leapfrogged by The Reason, which will knock off This Love in the 5/14 or 5/21 chart. Beyonce won't hit #1, but Mario Winans will in mid-June. Burn is doing alright, just behind Jessica and will definetely make the Top 10 by the final update. This one will go to the Top 5...and competitor Take My Breath Away will start to lose its bullet soon. Good to see Hey Mama doing well. Honestly, I didn't think this would make much noise after Shut Up flopped, but radio is doing right by them and making it a hit. It's a fun song that should make the Top 10 as summer heats up. Avril's in the Top 15? Where's the barf icon... Luckily, she has not been showing huge gains and may be done soon. It's time for Numb, Someday, and First Cut Is The Deepest to BE GONE! Why is 8th World Wonder slowing down? It should be a bigger hit, but this isn't the first time it's had a low bullet, so I am hoping it resurges in the next few days. Switchfoot is taking a damn long time to peak. Sean Paul and Jay-Z are taking off. I see both hitting the Top 15, they're both catchy songs but I honestly can't see many stations putting these in power. If Three Days Grace's bullet hadn't jumped back up, I would not have been a happy camper. I don't know that this will go much further, but it's an awesome song and I hope it at least pulls off a Top 20. The new OutKast song SUCKS. Doesn't sound like pop material, I don't know why people like it so much. I hope Ocean Avenue continues to do well on the charts, that violin at the end of the song is friggin' catchy! Plenty of dumb but catchy songs looking to be hits right now. Scandalous--the lyrics are just stupid, but it's kind of fun. I'm actually glad to see Dip It Low gaining, I didn't think it'd do a thing at Pop radio but I guess I was wrong, and that Sugababes song is taking off. For some reason, that song screams "Payola!" to me. I hope Heaven does well, it took a while to grow on me but now I like it a lot. It's already recurrent at AAA. Love the new Kanye West song, Sylveena adds so much to the song even though her part isn't huge. As far as up-and-comers go: Petey deleted is set to enter and that marks a new low in CHR radio. Also, be on the lookout for Trapt. I think this will pull a Darkness and hit a wall in the 30s. Maria Mena may make a minor dent on the charts, but I hate the song personally.
