I still can't believe this, although a cover was inevitable. This suits her vocal range perfectly. I hope the only part she keeps though is the chorus and the main melody - new verses would be great. And please GOD don't let Rodney Jerkins produce it. By the way, this was confirmed in People magazine.

It fits her perfect vocally but a Bobby Brown cover right now is like a joke.

It fits her perfect vocally but a Bobby Brown cover right now is like a joke. Well as long as the song is faithful to the original (which I felt was a classic), I think the song will do just fine and it has that old late 80ish dance vibe to it which I haven't heard in a long time. I just hope that whoever is producing the cover isn't going to make drastic changes to the original. I like this idea though. I also wonder if this is going to be the first single or if she is going to release an all new song.

I know this is going to sound picky, but "prerogative" is one of the most commonly misspelled words.

When does the Greatest Hits album come out?
I can only assume that this is to say that Outrageous is the closing single for In the Zone.

It fits her perfect vocally but a Bobby Brown cover right now is like a joke. Actually I think it is the other way around. It's her singing a Bobby Brown cover is the joke. At least Bobby Brown has vocal ability. Regardless of the hoopla he's been in. I saw one of her live concert performances on MTV the other week. I was so appalled that she couldn't sing not one note. I really thought she had at least an inch of vocal ability. Especially since music artists don't lose points with me if they're not the best singer. But when she sung "Everytime," she sounded horribly off key. I was so shocked. She even sat at a piano appearing like she was going to play the instrument during the performance. Yet she didn't play a note. Britney Spears is a big time fake. Thanks to production efforts, choreography, and her looks she is able to be the pop star she is today.

I'm not trying to commend Britney's vocal ability or anything, but Everytime sounded better live on SNL than it does on the album. It sounded horrible at the Showtime concert, though. Maybe that's what you saw? Anyway, I honestly don't think Britney has a horrible voice. She just uses her head voice way too much as of late. That's why My Preogative might sound good, it's in full voice. Max Martin always had her singing in full voice, which is why people say she sounded better on her previous albums. The only time I can think of when she does this on In The Zone are the chorus of Toxic and Boom Boom in it's entirety. The worst case senario of her "whisper" register would be either Outrageous or Me Against The Music.

Outrageous is the final single off of In The Zone. Her first single off of her Greatest Hits album was said to be due out in September.

I'm the first to criticize or blast Britney, because she can't sing, but this song is a perfect choice for her. It's not like Bobby sang much on the original. And before the inevitable attack comes, yes I KNOW Bobby could sing, just saying this song doesn't take much, yet it's catchy.

Might be easier for her to fake up the vocals. But I doubt her version will be any better than the original, but she'll get away with it because it's Britney of course.

I love the original, it's one of my favorite songs from the late 80's. Normally I'm upset when artists cover songs that I love, but in this case I think Britney could pull it off. I'm looking forward to hearing it and the video should be good. :)

For some reason, I can definitely picture Britney singing this. It probably won't be that bad.

For some real weird reason I'm picturing the video being like a cross between "love is a battlefield" by pat benetar, "alright" by janet and "beat it" by michael jackson.

Wow. I am suprised at the number of people who are in favor of this. Maybe I dont remember much of "my perogative" but When I saw this i didnt think it was a great thing to do. I couldnt believe what i was seeing lol. But the more I think about it, the more im interested. It could be very controversial and work in her favor with her marriage and all. It could be the song that tels everyone to f*ck off.

This would be a great song to see live especially if Britney is performing at say an award show *wink* *wink*. It's going to be kinda sad if this isn't the new single though :(

I agree with most, I can totally see her singing this song, the lyrics and the tempo fits her voice as well. It's not vocal gymnastics or anything, which will probably allow her to do the song justice.

A PERFECT song for Britney Spears to remake! I cannot wait to hear this.
The snippet from People Weekly says: ndeed, in addition to rehabbing the knee she injured June 8, forcing the cancellation of her tour, Spears has been busy working on her next album, Greatest Hits: My Prerogative, due Nov. 16, which will include a remake of Bobby Brown's 1988 hit of the same name.
And someone said that E! said she will also be remaking Blondie's "Atomic", there will be two new songs, and that Jay Z was producing the lead single.

Do you have any other contributions to this board other than to lick Xtina's pierced nipples and b*** slap Britney left and right? Anyway, the song. I'm interested in hearing it.

Well, it can't be any worse than her remake of Pat Benatar's Joan Jett's "I Love Rock N Roll"... can't wait 'til we get a clip of it.
