CHR/Pop: 2,671 spins (-120)- 15.936 million audience CHR/Rhythmic: 153 spins (-54)- 1.073 million
Song is good? Maybe Bobby Brown's original, but that's about it.

Sounds fine to me. Not surprised she's back to being ignored by radio though.
She'll have to go above and beyond (a la "Toxic) to get back to the top again.

I'm aware tha Spears has 3 #1s at pop radio- that's great, even if it's really just 2- Baby One More Time/Oops I Did It Again and Toxic. The first two essentially are the same song- I dare anyone to not miss a beat when singing the lyrics of one over the other, using the same melody. It can't be done! "You Drive Me Crazy" sounds very similar to those songs (though I'm sure I've pointed this out before on these boards, probably as many times as I've said that "What It's Like" and "Turn Off The Lights" sound like "What I Am") and frankly, I'm surprised that song didn't go to number one (as I recall, "Smooth" had a stanglehold on the top around that time). "Lucky" also sounds like those two songs, only the melody is a little different - enough difference for that song to go to #1 on my personal charts while the others did not. So "My Prerogative" peaked already, huh? Oh well...

That fake remix should be released! It's a JAM! The real, original version is really boring compared to it.

TCorey, you better start cleanin' out your ears when it comes to a select few acts. Otherwise, fine musical tastes. ;)
The latest Mediabase update:
CHR/Pop: 2,377 spins (-380)- 13.485 million audience CHR/Rhythmic: 128 spins (-63)- 0.836 million audience
There's always a chance the song can gain slightly (i.e. when the album is released), but it likely has peaked. This has performed worse (in terms of audience peak) than any recent high-profile first release at radio. Spears has never had HUGE radio success, but this is especially poor.

It could have a higher audience peak than Vanessa's "White Houses" (which is only on the Billboard Hot 100 now because it has a single), and look at how Vanessa's first single from her first album did. Also look at how "Slow" did compared to "Can't Get You Out Of My Head," how "American Life" did compared to "Music," and how "Sweetest Sin" did compared to "Irresistible."

to their own previous kick-offs (as we've seen a number of declines inthat respect, too). I was just speaking in terms of kick-off tracks and audience peak, compared to other acts' recent kick-off tracks- for high-profile/notably successful acts. MP's audience peak is even lower than American Life. :o AL managed to reach Hot 100 Airplay (eventually peaking at 61). Spears' career is pretty young to have such a disappointing kick-off performance (aside from overall airplay, even missing the top 20 at the pop format).
It looks like MP simply didn't go over well with listeners- it nevr showed up in Billboard's HitPredictor. What's odd though is how a track like Tilt Ya Head Back scored well, yet has plummeted in airplay- but that may have more to do with Nelly saturation.
After seeing how it was performing, I sensed it wouldn't match Me Against the Music's #38 airplay peak. I thought MP would at least reach, maybe the 50s, in airplay.

Where are you getting your figures from? MATM went to no 11. The Billboard chart is compiled of more than just airplay.

is where MATM peaked at 38- that's what I'm talking about in terms of airplay (I did mention H100 Airplay). And sales have been so minute the last couple of years, that the Hot 100 nearly has been a replica of Hot 100 Airplay (though pop tracks always have had that small-market airplay advantage, which is why a pop-oriented track may rank slightly higher on the Hot 100 than on Hot 100 Airplay; different than back in, say, 1999-2000, when sales still played a factor, and a pop track could be ranked 7-8 spots lower on the Hot 100 than it was on Airplay).

Which is full of crap, BTW. I clearly remember them saying that "The Way" by Clay Aiken had a 75% of something chance of being a hit, and it didn't even make top 50.
The public doesn't exactly seem to be clamoring for Britney's MUSIC (as opposed to papparazi pics) at the moment. The video hasn't created quite as much radio buzz as i'm sure Jive anticipated. But I don't think this will have much affect on her Greatest Hits.

This song's dreadful performance on the charts (as well as the song itself) will undoubtedly put a chill on the sales of her GH CD.

I'm still offended by that. That's why I waited 3 weeks to buy "In The Zone," instead of buying it first week like her second and third albums. >:( How the hell can you be offended when the middle finger was towards the paparrazzi? ???

Britney is going the way of the boy bands. She is done. Unless she has a few tricks up her sleeve like her hero Madonna, who always found a way to reinvent herself. Imagine that, finished at 22 almost 23!!

Just because one song underperforms doesn't mean it's the end of their career. What are you people smoking?

I honestly think Britney will take two years off and just record little by little. Seriously, I think she has lots more tricks up her sleeve. I believe she will make a return with her 'Ray Of Light' type record which establishes her a little bit more as a true artist. My advice to her is get singing lessons, don't divorce, and pull a Demi Moore and stay out of the media for a little while. I mean she was only gone for a little over a 1 and 1/2 and 'Me Against the Music,' exploded. People wanted her again, it was played ever hour on the hour on z100 the first two days it leaked. Even though it hit a brick wall ppl liked her again so I guess we'll see.
