I really dont know what Clive wants to do. If they want Fantasia to be a real SUPERSTAR then she really could crossover cause she got all that it takes! When I See U is such a pop song as well as R&B, they missed out again.

Congrats! That's incredible!
I would never have thought it, man. She's truly a wonder, capable of turning songs into hits. That's just wonderful to see - good for her!

I really dont know what Clive wants to do. If they want Fantasia to be a real SUPERSTAR then she really could crossover cause she got all that it takes! When I See U is such a pop song as well as R&B, they missed out again. I agree with you that J missed out AGAIN, this is like the third time now. I laugh when I hear people say "J Has done an excellent job on promoting Fantasia". I laugh because I want to know what they are going on. If J was supporting fantasia she wouldn't be sitting up with a #1 R & B song without ever being released to rhythmic and mainstream radio. Most of the songs that make it to #1 on R & B now a days are very rarely songs that have not reached the top 40 chart so Fantasia has done something very special here and something that is rarely done. When has the last song that reached #1 on r & b not even been released to pop or rhythmic? This might just be the first. She might not be "superstar in music" in terms of sales but she is a superstar in terms of TALENT and hits. Anytime one can go to broadway and bring in millions along with rave critics reviews that is some real superstar talent. Broadway is the hardest of all to get rave reviews in. I do not think Clive liked the direction she went with her sophomore album and I do know that Fantasia had gotten advice from kelly since kelly's sophomore album was so successful. The thing is, if you try to do your own thing Clive holds you back in the promotion department and ships smaller. But that's okay, fantasia showed him, she still got a #1, she's sold OVER what he initially shipped and is on broadway banking millions and critically acclaimed so because of that, I say she won 10 times over. When you are a superstar of TALENT no one can hold you down. Because you can use that superstar TALENT and work magic all over the place. Congrats on that FAN supported #1. I say fan supported because if it were truly label supported it would have been sent to other formats. They released that song thinking it would not get anywhere near the top #10 and there is no way they thought it was going to #1. I hope this gets them to start supporting her superstar TALENT fully and on that third album, if she's truly supported she can finally get those superstar sales to match that superstar TALENT.

^^ So well said. We need to let Clive retire from his seat now and let some Pulse members take over!

Very well said onlyoneu! I am amazed at how she is able to score a #1 on billboard and be totally occupied with Broadway right now. :o She is not even able to promote it as much, but she still hits #1, really cool!

It just confounds me how she has a #1 R&B single and it hasn't been shipped to other radio outlets. Plus, her CD sales have ridiculously stagnated/declined which is just astounding with as much momentum as she's generated the last several weeks.

Congrats Fantasia! I wonder if she got there because of the quality of the song or the sudden surge of reinterest in her after her Color Purple run? Perhaps both. Anyway, this is a great turnaround for her.

So what's the next single? I hope it's Baby Makin Hips, Sunshine, Uneligible, Surround U or Not the Way That I Do. I think she should go with Not the Way That I Do, the title is safe and the song is a good uptempo, people might get freaked with Baby Makin Hips even if it's the best uptempo. lol.

Not the way that I do needs a radio friendly version, and then it could take over. The tom toms (are those tom toms?) kick ass in that song.
You could make a killer video for that jam!

I Feel Beautiful would be the perfect single choice in the Fall right in time for Single or Record of the Year for the Grammies..Come on J get on this u have to see this..Support Tasia her album should be 2.5X platinum by now..When I See U should be number # 1 everywhere...She should have been on the BET Awards perfomring no excuses unless she was on Broadway that night..No excuses...

I hate I feel beautiful. I mean I'm happy that she does, lol, but I hate the way that song is put together.
J & Promotion is like seeing Clark Kent & Superman. Like Wonder Woman Flying. Like Aquaman drowning. It's just not going to happen.

I think she needs an uptempo. Her current album has A LOT of good uptempo's! Possibly, the success of an uptempo song from her current album will let her crossover.

^ Radio doesn't really like Fantasia singing uptempo songs, the only one that I would even attempt to send to radio would be "Surround U"
I am hoping they stay midtempo and go with "Only One U"

I think the next single should be "Bore Me (Yawn)" it has good summertime vibe, it's very catchy, and it's not as uptempo as "Hood Boy" but still shows a different side of Fantasia. I think it could catch on fire very quickly.

I hope there is a third single. My first choice would be Two Weeks Notice - because that is Fantasia's grammy song, imo. I also like Surround You, Bore Me (Yawn), and Only One U for radio.
By the way, Fantasia turned 23 today - can you imagine all that talent at such a young age?

Oh no, not this again ;) I think it's like hearing Lauryn Hill sing "Sideline Ho" before her debut cd. Oh it could sound good, but you just know there's a classic waiting to come. I'd love to just give up and think this is the best she can do. I just don't truly believe that though. Although many folks don't share the feeling that she has a classic, something that will be universally hailed as one of the greatest ever, in her, I just feel that she does, based on what I've seen.

i listened to the cd again, if they want a grammy song, they got to go with either 2 weeks notice or bump what you friends say, these songs carry the best vocal performance

I want "Surround U" to be a single soooooooooooooo bad. Swizz Beatz is on fire and I think the song is poppy enough to crossover and still unique enough to not sound like a generic Swizz Beatz track. Plus, I think the song is the perfect continuation from "When I See U" lyrically.

Baby Makin Hips or Surround U for 3rd single! I think Surround U will become a bigger hit though, very radio-friendly.

Surround U might not be a candidate for the next single, but it's the best option. Two Weeks Notice and Only One U are great choices.
Bore Me (Yawn) IS boring, Baby Makin Hips is either hit or miss and I can't stand I Nominate You. She mentioned it might be a single. :(

Lets just hope there's actually a 3rd single before september. J records is slow as a snail running a marathon.
I hate j. Some of their people are really lacking.

If they make it radio friendly, it could kick ass. That's all they need to do.
Kwame did it ;)
Here's how I'd do the video.
Every video - truth is, free yourself, when I see u, hood boy - has involved her and some cat.
Do something different. Something expensive, stylish, colorful and fun.
