it was always planned for her show to come back. That's actually not true. Ashlee herself stated in several interviews that she wouldn't be doing a second season of the show. I think she and her dad changed their minds after the hype disappeared and people started losing interest in her.

That's actually not true. Ashlee herself stated in several interviews that she wouldn't be doing a second season of the show. I think she and her dad changed their minds after the hype disappeared and people started losing interest in her. Exactly. She seemed adamantly against having a 2nd season-swearing there would NOT be one. Suddenly there is I think she (or her dad or her managers or a combination) realized that she has not established herself yet (as very few debut artists have) and they feel as if they need the second show for her (and plus, its ratings for mtv) I think Lala wins the award of having the worst lyrics on the entire album and the radio right now. I laughed hysterically the first time I heard it...and honestly I think that may be hurting the song a little bit. I cannot IMAGINE most of my stations playing a song that goes you make me wanna lala on the kitchen floor. (more pop rock/ac leaning stations) Everyone still plays Pieces of Me, if anything. I think Ashlee should have...either better lyrics for this song (as the song itself is not horrible-as in the music/catchiness) or one of the other songs

"La La" is actually a pretty catchy song. It's got a cool beat with it being a more rocky song but the lyrics suck. I doubt this'll go much further and think she'll need a really great song to ever have a hit again.

One of my friends said this song reminded her of Warrant's "Cherry Pie". I can definitely see the similarities. A super catchy song with silly lyrics, both of which use a metaphor for sex, Ashlee using "LaLa", and Warrant using "swingin". Here are the lyrics if you don't know them. www.lyricsbox.com/warrant-lyrics-cherry-pie-43hwg6n.htmlOh, the Warrant song went Top 10, so as slim as it is, there's hope for Ashlee.

I just saw her perform this on the Orange Bowl...I found it funny that they made her edit the song. "You make me wanna LaLa In the kitchen, in the store I'll bring you lemonade When I meet you at the door..." Anyway, I like Ashlee. <3

Ashlee is an idiot for performing live at these shows. They expose that she's not a great singer. "LaLa" is a great song on the radio, but horrible live.
Plus, she isn't going to appeal much to a bunch of drunk guys in their 30's and 40's mixed with even drunker frat boys who go to these games. Of course they're going to boo her. Thats why having people like U2, Paul McCartney, or even 3 Doors Down would have been much better.

The football fans would've preferred her sister, because she has bigger boobs.
Ashlee's sort of stuck herself into a corner after this whole SNL thing. Prior to it, she lipped most of her performances (including the TCAs). Now, after the hoedown, she seems to have to 'prove' herself by always performing live, no matter how crappy. While that's generally my philosophy with singers, an ocassion like this (large stadium not built for music, set up quickly w/ horrible sound system) is an understandable occassion to lipsync. That opportunity is not really open to her anymore without subjecting her to even more scrutiny.
to be honest, the recorded "La La" is all yelling anyway, so the live performances don't screw it up too much. this certainly won't help her spins, though.

On any other platform she would have had the same result. If that performance was for American Idol or a record exec, you would expect harsher words!

You've gotta feel bad for her for having to stand there and listen to an entire stadium boo her, knowing that about another 25 million people were watching on television. The performance wasn't great by any means, but it wasn't that bad. Just a bad choice of artist considering the types of people at the game.

She only lipped one performance in the states that was prior to SNL which was the Teen Choice Awards, which were dubbed before they were aired. There's a bootleg someone recorded that was shown on TRL that had the live vocals. Her performance lastnight did suck though, some "boos" won't end her career though.

I think the reason Ashlee performs so badly is that she consistently performs songs that are WAY out of her range. If she stuck to songs that fit her voice type people wouldn't think she was as bad of a singer.

Bummer about the boos, the crowd let her off too easy. They should have thrown vegetables.
Hey Eric, if you wrap that thing around Ashlee's neck it will be used for something good!
Nah. Even Happy Birthday done marginally correctly requires a teeny bit of musicality. Ashlee has absolutely none.
