The Killers confirm new single releasePlus band celebrate millionth sale of 'Sam's Town' The Killers marked the millionth sale of their second album 'Sam's Town' by confirming 'For Reasons Unknown' will be released as their next single. The track, out on June 4, has become the highlight of the band's live performance as the song features frontman Brandon Flowers changing roles during the set - swapping his keyboard duties for a bass guitar. The single release will come just ahead of the band's headline performances this year at Glastonbury, T In The Park and V Festival.

Too bad these guys didn't have that big chr/Top40 smash we were hoping for.
I wish they'd release "Where The White Boys Dance".

According to wiki, it was a bonus track in Australia, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and U.S. iTunes pre-order.

Killers Ride Into The Sunset In New VideoMay 10, 2007, 2:55 PM ET Gary Graff, Detroit Killers guitarist Dave Keuning says the group has "been jamming here and there in sound check," working up ideas for what will eventually become the Las Vegas group's third album. But he adds that he doesn't expect that to appear any time soon. "The (recording), it's at least a year off, so it's hard to say what will be kept," Keuning tells Billboard.com. "A lot of people are dying to know what the third album's going to sound like, and I can't answer that. There's a few gems left over from the last album (2004's 'Hot Fuss') that did make this album ('Sam's Town'), like 'Bones,' 'Reasons Unknown' and 'Uncle Johnny.' But we usually focus more on what we create closer to recording the album." And "Sam's Town," which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 in October and has sold 1.1 million copies in the United States so far, is hardly over. A third single, "Read My Mind," is currently out, while the quartet recently shot a video for a fourth, "Reasons Unknown," that includes horseback riding and, according to Keuning, frontman Brandon Flowers' head roasted "on a chicken above some fire. It's kind of weird." The horses were scarier, however. "I'd never ridden a horse in my life," the guitarist says. "It was difficult at first, and then we got used to it. I was afraid of getting bucked off, but I kinda got the hang of it and kind of liked it by the end of the shoot. It was more fun than I thought it would be." The Killers are in the midst of a North American tour that wraps up June 1 in Las Vegas. The band will play European festivals during the summer, then return for another North American swing in September, following by their first trip to South America. Keuning expects the group to wind up its touring by the end of the year and take a few months off before hitting the studio again. In the midst of all this, Flowers and his wife, Tana, are expecting their first child in July. "I've offered him a little advice, and that is, he won't know what hit him," says Keuning, who has a one-year-old son. "It does change you a lot, and they're really exhausting at first. But they're very lovable, too."

The album is still holding up quite well considering it only had one hit single.

Next single: "For Reasons Unknown" goes for adds at Alternative on June 5th.The Killers halt Colorado show after two songsThe Killers were forced to halt their show last night (May 17) at Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre after frontman Brandon Flowers suffered a throat injury. The band had performed only two songs when Flowers exited the stage, causing much confusion among audience members. About 20 minutes later, an announcement over the PA system revealed that Flowers was being examined by a doctor. Soon afterwards, drummer Ronnie Vannucci apologised to fans and said the show would need to be rescheduled, reports Spin. A doctor then explained that Flowers had an "aggravated vocal cord" and continuing the concert "could be detrimental to his musical career." A statement on the band's website says that Flowers is recovering, and the Colorado show has been rescheduled for September 4. All tickets from last night's show will be valid.

Billboard:
ARTIST: THE KILLERS
SINGLE: FOR REASONS UNKNOWN
"But my heart/It don't beat the way it used to," a feverish Brandon Flowers laments in "For Reasons Unknown," the fourth single from the Killers' inexhaustible sophomore set "Sam's Town." Indeed, things have changed since the Las Vegas boys dumped Bowie for Springsteen, creating a hook-filled blockbuster that fuses new-wavey melodramas with epic Americana. Destined first for alternative radio, this synth-free rocker opens with ominous multitrack vocals and grinding fuzz guitars and builds to a huge pop chorus as Flowers dances on the edge of a relentlessly pumped groove. As indie heroes like Arcade Fire begin to reveal a crush on the Boss, the Killers' bombast appears visionary. If anything, Flowers' heart beats louder and bigger these days.

Killers Corralling Rarities For B-Sides AlbumAugust 23, 2007, 11:15 AM ET John Benson, Cleveland A wealth of material that stateside fans most likely haven't heard will comprise the Killers' next release before the end of the year, according to frontman Brandon Flowers. "In England we have a lot of B-sides that people in America would never know about because we don't have singles here," Flowers tells Billboard.com. "So we have about 15 of these songs that people have never heard, and we wanted to stick them on something for people to get to have them all together." The tentative song list includes "All the Pretty Faces" ("When You Were Young" B-side), movie soundtrack tunes "Shadowplay" (a Joy Division cover from Anton Corbijn's Ian Curtis biopic "Control") and "Move Away" ("Spider-man 3"), as well as a cover of Mel Tillis' "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town." Flowers also hasn't ruled out putting a new track or two on the album, which he hopes to have out by the holiday season. "We're also going to do another Christmas single for the Red Campaign as well," Flowers says. "That's exiting. We've written 'Don't Shoot Me Santa,' which will hopefully be available on Dec. 1. Last year we were able to raise over $100,000 from the one song ('A Great Big Sled'), and hopefully we'll be able to do it again." Still on the road supporting its sophomore effort "Sam's Town," the Killers are touring the states again because "We feel like we didn't do enough touring in America on this album," Flowers says. The outfit, which begins its next leg Sept. 4 at Red Rocks outside Denver, plans on hitting Australia and South America before it ends its touring cycle in November. But already there are new ideas floating around at soundchecks and in computers for the group's next studio effort, which is tentatively scheduled for a fall 2008 release. Upon mentioning the appeal of the '80s dance-inspired "Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke Mix" version of "Mr. Brightside," Flowers hinted the band could be returning to that sound. "That's something we really love," Flowers says, "and that possibly could be a third album idea."
