When u start seeing greatest hits albums, it usually means the label thinks you are past prime and want to start milking it before you fall of the face of the earth. Not necessarily. Alot of country artists put out 2-3 collections of hits. I don't listen to Em but I do think he deserves this, and he has plenty of HUGE hits to fill it. (And I hate rap, so I won't be buying or listening to this). The only big hits he has are: The Real Slim Shady Without Me Cleaning Out My Closet Sing For The Moment Superman Lose Yourself Just Lose It Mockingbird

He's been around for more than 6 years. Didn't his first album come out in 1999? 1996 - Infinite 1998 - The Slim Shady EP 1999 - The Slim Shady LP 2000 - Marshall Mathers LP 2001 - Devil's Night (With D12) 2002 - The Eminem Show 2002 - 8 Mile Soundtrack 2004 - D12 World 2004 - Encore I think he's worthy of a greatest hits album.

You're forgetting some of his biggest hits. My Name Is Guilty Conscience Role Model Just Don't Give a F*** Stan The Way I Am Encore I don't know what you're basing your list on, but some of these were pretty big hits. It's not only based on top 40 radio.

Infinite has no hits, u listed slim shady twice, there are 2 D12 albums on there, and theres a soundtrack that has only 4 songs of his (only one which was released and became a hit).

My point is that he has just as much hits as Britney did (All of britneys songs were huge WW) and he isn't getting any blame for releasing GH album but Britney did.

Can you leave this topic? Do not turn this into a Britney topic. Thanks. It's probably because it's widely agreed that Eminem has talent. Britney doesn't.

I think Eminem is more deserving because he has worked on more material than what appears on his four major label albums. He has soundtrack songs, songs he's done with other artists, his group, etc. I doubt D12 songs will appear on the album but I'm sure 'Forgot About Dre' will be on there, or at least it should. Plus, even Eminem songs that aren't considered big pop hits (like 'My Name Is' and 'Stan') and still very well known. 'Stan' helped launch the career of Dido on this side of the Atlantic.

The world doesn't revolve around pop. Just because a song flopped on pop in the USA, doesn't mean the song isn't a hit.

First off, who says a ho can't sell? Secondly, she's not, she's just comfortable with her body and might show it off more than she should just like a lot of the biggest selling artists of all time have and they have also sold millions and millions just like Britney. ;)

I wonder what the first single will be like.
His usually lead singles are poppy and controversial songs... like "Without Me" and "Just Lose," right?
But since it's a greatest hits song, do you think he'll go with a more mature song like "Lose Yourself?"

I`d say his singles are more "seasonal", like he drops a poppy single usually during the summer/early autumn and for the winter he picks a darker track. I`d say his single will be either sth more to the angry side (the Forgot About Dre type of track) or sth on the mature side -like Sing for the Moment/ Lose Yourself-type.

Rumor has it that the single will premiere tomorrow after 5PM. Here's the cover: Out in a month and we don't have a tracklisting yet.

Not sure if I like the cover. This is the third album in a row that he's used the "theater" theme. It's overdone now. I think it's the end of his career as a rapper. The curtains are closed. It's over. :(

It's over. :( I love it as a cover. It`s the end of an era for him, not necessarily the end of his whole career as a rapper. I`m still believing that`ll turn out to be sth like Madonna`s The Immaculate Collection.

When u start seeing greatest hits albums, it usually means the label thinks you are past prime and want to start milking it before you fall of the face of the earth. Kenny Chesney's "Greatest Hits" is when his career really took off. He started to sell well with that album. Though country music is different because radio and fans seem to be generally more loyal to an artist over time. Many country artists seem to release GREATEST HITS albums in their peak, Reba did it, Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride, Montgomery Gentry, Terri Clark, George Strait, and many more...
