Kip Moore put on one of the best shows I've ever seen. If you haven't seen him live I HIGHLY recommend checking him out! I hope to get to see him live again someday.

This past weekend, I saw Koe Wetzel in Cleveland. I wasn't sure how his Texas popularity would hold up in Ohio, but he managed to sell out the venue. It was my first concert back, and everything appeared to run smoothly from a ticketing/vaccination policy standpoint.

He played all the hits. My only criticism, and it's minor, is that there was no crowd engagement between songs. After performing "Love", I recall him saying "God bless Mr. Parker McCollum". But those were basically the only words spoken other than song lyrics.

There has been some pretty good shows popping around Austin! I saw Miranda Lambert last month. Jack Ingram and Jon Randall came out on stage to sing 3 songs off of the Marfa Tapes album. Miranda looked amazing and put on a fantastic show! This last Friday was Brothers Osborne for a great outdoors show. They never disappoint!
This weekend is Weekend 1 for the Austin City Limits Festival. Unfortunately, Tanya Tucker had to cancel, but there's still lots to look forward to including Cam on Sunday and George Strait headlining tomorrow!

I got to see Eric Church yesterday in Vancouver, finally first big concert since Old Dominion in February 2020. It is just so satisfying to be back at a stadium, and grateful that he decided to stop at Vancouver, where few people care about country music. It was a first time seeing him, but yeah, he's quite a performer. I for sure enjoyed my favs, like Springsteen or Some Of It, but those songs that I am usually critical about as radio singles, like Creepin' or Stick That, were also very enjoyable thanks to his performance. Disappointed that he missed Monsters and Two Pink Lines, but it was a great night.
Dierks Bentley is touring with Jordan Davis and Tenille Arts (Lainey Wilson in US dates), so that will be the next one that I can attend.

Just bought tickets to see Reba in Little Rock in 2022. I'm so excited. This will be my first time ever seeing Reba live.

Great show tonight in Minneapolis. Sat in the 300's and the sound was still great at US Bank Stadium despite the many people I've seen on twitter who say it's horrible for sound. It was flawless.
Caitlyn Smith was a big disappointment. I get the only reason she was on the show is she's from Minnesota. I Can't was the only thing remotely country she did. Covering Miley Cyrus was awful even if she did write it. She did okay with Carole King but the rest was pure pop garbage. And she was given way too much time. 20 minutes would have been plenty when she got about 45.
Little Big Town just wasn't good. I've seen them before and I can't put my finger on it but they were just off.
Chris Stapleton is fantastic. Country music will be in good hands as long as he is around.
George Strait is still the king. He has a set playlist he doesn't change at all and it works. I would like him to do a few more older hits, and I was getting nervous he would leave out more of them but he played them late in the show.

So this was last night and when I say it was incredible...holy CRAP y'all this show was one for the ages. Totally acoustic, guitar pull style, and the amount of talent on that stage!!! Carly Pearce is incredible, her voice is SO GOOD. Y'all know I love my Dierks, getting to see him solo acoustic was actually new for me though and a real treat. Darius Rucker is incredible, his vocals are amazing! If anyone was a weak link vocally it was Jon Pardi aka Juan Fiesta but he brought it and was clearly having the time of his life. And Clay Walker...y'all. I had a giant crush on him when I was in High School. I LOVED him and his music is featured prominently on my playlists still to this day. Man he's still got it. That was such a treat.
I'm gonna be riding high on this one for a while. What a night!!!!
Have tickets to see Dierks at Bridgestone in Nashville in February, and tickets to Kenny here in Charlotte at the stadium in April! Gonna be a great year. So pumped.

Thomas Rhett was awesome last night. Surprised he didn't do "Slow Down Summer" but am guessing they haven't had the chance to rehearse it yet since they took a month off touring. Cole Swindell was good. Surprised he didn't do "Never Say Never" but with no females on the show maybe that's why. He did it at his last few shows on the tour and I'm guessing Gabby sang it with him at those.
Conner Smith is going to be a star. He has a fantastic stage presense and connects with the crowd great. But I feel old now with the cover songs he did. Not sure I'm ready to hear Church songs covered yet.

I saw Dwight Yoakam last night. He was incredible. For the singers in his generation, his voice has only waned slightly. Puts on a good show. He played for 2+ hours. When I saw him at a county fair back in 2016 I was disappointed he only played 12 songs (maybe a noise ordinance ?) Anyway, here’s the set list in case anyone is going to see him soon and is curious.
Keep On the Sunny Side Little Sister Please, Please Baby Little Ways Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down Swinging Doors Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother Miners Prayer I Got You Ring of Fire Streets of Bakersfield You’re the One Blame the Vain Pocket of a Clown Turn It on, Turn It Up, Turn Me Loose It Only Hurts When I Cry Fast As You Ain’t That Lonely Yet Honky Tonk Man A Thousand Miles from Nowhere Guitars , Cadillacs Suspicious Minds
(I may have missed 1 or 2 wedged in there. He played an original album cut I couldn’t recognize and maybe another cover )

I had a chance to see Chris Lane at Abbotsford BC, opened by Lily Rose and ERNEST.
Lily Rose was okay, she was not really good at engaging with the crowd. Many of her songs were poppy, including Villain, but there are a few good songs. She did one with more like an acoustic style, and that was a great way to present her unique voice.
ERNEST was really good. He did the cover of 4 Morgan Wallen songs, which I enjoyed a lot (Wasted, Hometown, Somebody's Problem, and Heartless). He did some of his original materials that I was not familiar with, so I'm willing to check him out more. Flower Shows was really nicely performed. He also sang two new songs that were released last night.
Chris Lane was much more engaging than I thought. He sang all the singles, but the only new song he sang was Stop Coming Over, which made me think that could be the next radio single. He did not I wish the show had been longer, as I have many of album tracks that are my fav by him. Because it was as show in BC, a local singer Shawn Austin showed up to do the acoustic collab of Tailgate To Heaven, which was pretty cool. Regardless, I'm so ready for his album.

I went to the Kenny Chesney stadium show in Charlotte over the weekend. Carly Pearce was amazing, Old Dominion were fantastic, Dan + Shay had terrible sound issues with their backing track (lol) for the first 4 songs and we ultimately ended up getting food and refreshing our drinks during their set (I'm not that sad). Kenny was great as usual but I was a bit surprised by the set list, with songs like Pirate Flag and Noise making the cut but Come Over and Tip of my Tongue not there. I know his show focuses more on the uptempos but I was a bit bummed that Knowing You wasn't performed. But, for a career as long as his, I really can't complain, everything he DID do, was great. Except for Boys of Fall. Still a snooze and does it really need to be part of the encore?!

So I guess you just got a little unlucky. Pirate Flag is kind of a fun song to do live but Noise is a slightly odd choice to play. I would love to see him another time especially with Carly and Old Dominion. Dan and Shay can sing but I only really enjoy Tequila.

My friend had looked at the set list for Tampa before our show and said that he made several changes for our show (he had Carly come out for You and Tequila, which didn't happen in Tampa) so I think KY was one of the cuts. I wasn't particularly upset by anything, just kind of surprised. The show was definitely worth it. Honestly I was pretty indifferent about Old Dominion going into it (I like their music generally but don't seek it out) but they were fabulous and I would definitely buy a ticket to a full OD show. My feelings for D+S are definitely similar to yours!

I saw Tenielle Townes recently as well as Sarah Darling.
Tenielle got really emotional because the audience was singing a lot of the lyrics back to her. Also, it was an all ages show, and one teenage girl had a sign that got to Tenielle's emotions. At one point, her guitar player and drummer "took a break" and Tenielle sat on a barstool and did some songs. One of those songs was "The Sound of Being Alone".
Sarah (and her tour mate, Julie Lavery) played for about an hour. Sarah didn't go too far back into her old material, and played some songs from the EP that was released last Friday. They both hung around for a long time afterwards, which was good to see.

Everyone should see Eric Church at least once in their lifetime. What a show. I won't be surprised if Morgan Wallen is the next one to start doing stadium shows.
