Now that the New Year's countdowns are completely out of the "Last Week" column, the bullets are pretty much back to normal :).

And unless some freakin weird things happen..."She Will Be Loved" goes recurrent.
My Boo is on it's way. Likely next week.
Mockingbird is already up to #20.
LALA is back down to +43.
JLO has slowed down extremely to +452
Only U +538!

And unless some freakin weird things happen..."She Will Be Loved" goes recurrent. Also, "Dare You To Move" (again, assuming it doesn't suddenly change directions). "Mockingbird" is now the second greatest gainer.

Yikes!Β J. Lo. is really in danger of pulling an "American Dream Life" here!Β Could she miss the top 20 altogther?Β :o
Now the question is - who will take #1 away from Mario?Β Right now, Ciara, Jesse, Kelly, & Green Day are the best competitors.Β My educated guess is Ciara will grab it for a week or two and then Green Day will vault to the top.Β I don't think Jesse's gains will last that much longer.Β He'll probably peak at #3 or 2 though.
This week may or may not be a good week for debuts on the chart.Β Maroon 5 & Switchfoot are going recurrent, so The Game f/ 50 Cent & Jet will have no trouble moving onto the chart.Β The Killers will also be gone either by recurrent or falling off naturally, so Lindsay Lohan should re-enter.Β After that, it gets interesting.Β Yellowcard is losing enough to fall off naturally, but can Keane or Mariah gain enough past it to push it off the chart?Β N.O.R.E. is also a possible dropper...

Don't you mean "American Life"? Going recurrent THIS week:Maroon 5 Switchfoot Killers Going recurrent NEXT week:nothing Going recurrent in TWO weeks:Usher & Alicia Keys Going recurrent in THREE weeks:Destiny's Child Jojo Going recurrent in FOUR weeks:Simple Plan Trick Daddy f/ Lil' Jon Yellowcard (though there's a 99.9% chance they'll fall off naturally first)

Thank God.Β "My Boo" is just awful.Β I love Alicia Keys.Β When I first heard her "If I Ain't Got You" I thought it was excellent, but when some stations play ther version with Usher in it I have to turn it off...it is just ruined.Β I think "My Boo" and Nickelback's "How You Remind Me" are my most hated songs of all time and they both seem to never go away. lol

I will not cry if JLo pulls an American Life. It's one of the worst songs she has ever done!

And as far as most hated songs ever - I am sure a few members on this board would have many MANY other inputs on that (including Lady Marmalade!)

Eminem has a chance of having four songs on the chart next week.Β >:( wow that is unecessary. i posted this in the polling booth forum but i think it is relevant to this: i think radio needs to learn how to serve its audience more. yeah a lot of people do like usher and a lot of people love eminem but i hate to break it to the world but there are peopel who do not like usher and do not like eminem. therefore if i am a non eminem and non usher fan and i turn on the radio to hear the music i like to hear i dont think its fair that i have to be saturated with eminem and usher. i mean come one radio is play like 4 songs off of eminems album right now. and usher has had many songs from the same album played. thats great if u like them but for the audience that dont they have to hear something they hate over and over again and it leaves less air time for stuff they may listen to. and i know u can say if u dont like that type of music then find a new radio format...well that aint so easy these days. cause pop is playing eminem and usher, rhythmic is playing eminem and usher, urban is playing them, alternative sometimes, and sometimes even hot ac. it is way overexposed and is alienating some of its audience.

Besides, Lifehouse had the last laugh when it was #1 for the whole year while "Lady Marmalade" didn't even make the Top Five (come to think of it, I don't even think it made the Top Ten for the year).

But people also hate Gavin DeGraw, Gwen Stefani, Green Day, Mariah Carey, Maroon 5, etc etc, etc. Name every song and artist in the Top 50 and there's bound to be people that don't like it as well as people that like it. I'm sure radio takes this all into account because I doubt they would sacrifice high ratings to playing songs people didn't want to hear.

I think her point hinged on the fact that radio is playing not 1 or 2 Eminem songs, but 4 at a time-same with Usher.

The other song would be his collaboration with Dr. Dre called "Encore", which is already on its way down the chart. However, Eminem probably won't have four songs in the Top 40 at the same time (a la Usher on AT40), since, by the time "Like Toy Soldiers" hits the Top 40 (if it even does), "Just Lose It" will have fallen out, possibly along with "Encore". My favorite of Eminem's four current charting songs would be "Mockingbird", so I'm glad it's doing well.

Oh yeah, I remember hearing that on the radio once, it's good. But I think it's a pretty dumb move...all the stations are splitting their airplay between three Eminem songs (not counting "Just Lose It", it was released previously, though it's not reccurent yet). When he could have a shot at one huge #1, he would instead have 3 midcharters. Or he might be able to pull an Usher, but I even think that "Yeah" was close to being out by the time "My Boo" debuted.

So over 200 million people are hearing eminem each week and therefore his album sales benefit from that. If radio plays one song at a time and say if someone does not like that particular song with normal artists they would have to wait a few months for the next single to see if they like that one. But with eminem chances are out of the 4 songs in rotation people will find atleast one song they like and that it will be one reason to purchase his cd.

Maybe people want to hear more Eminem now than before since he has a new CD out. And how many stations are playing all four songs as a current? Whether an artist has 1 or 4 songs on the chart still doesn't change the fact that every artist has fans and non-fans and it's a matter of trying to please the majority.
On a side note, 'Encore' is an AWESOME song and I think it should be Top 5.

Im not disagreeing with you-in fact, I like all the Em songs charting right now Im just saying that for a NONFAN it seems like a bit much. Like, I can imagine if 4 Ashlee songs were top 30 at once. And if I happened to hear them on a few of the pop stations I listened to all the time. I might be a tad cranky about it
