TEB's fourth studio album is slated for release in Feb/09, called Ursa Major. The first single will most likely drop to radio in November and honestly i'm only starting this now because this is one of my favorite bands from the 90's. I'm hoping that they have a big album comeback and get some love from radio again HOWEVER I realize the chances are slim. Or at best they will get subjected to the Hot AC format which is really too bad. However their biggest success was on the Modern Rock format which is why I'm starting this here. They have gotten most of the songs ready for the new album and personally I'm hoping that they record a proper studio version of "Campfire" and release it as the first single.
They will also be releasing a second album probably in the fall of next year with tracks that didnt make the cut, on an album called Ursa Minor(clever boys, clever)
Here's to TEB making some noise in the next few months! (Yeah I know its wishful thinking, but you never know). I'll update when the first single is announced. Any other Third Eye fans here?

I love most of their songs. "Wounded", "My Hit And Run", "Motorcycle Drive By", "God Of Wine", "The Background", "Darkness", "Faster", and "Blinded" are among my favorites.

They're still at it? Nothing against them, though.
Well, "Blinded" pretty much sucked and that's probably why the last album didn't do too well. That's my least favorite 3EB single.

I have recently discovered Semi Charmed Life and Never Let You Go, and love both!

I see this band as a singles band...... "The Background", "Motorcycle Drive By", "God Of Wine", "Wounded", "Darkness", "Faster", "My Hit And Run", "Wake For Young Souls", "Forget Myself", "Good Man". There you go, nine fantastic songs by them that are not singles.

The last album didn't do well because Elektra went bankrupt while they were promoting it. There were no videos and unfortunately, alternative lost their taste for these kinds of bands by 2003 as well. They had a lot working against them. Even so, it went Gold. So imagine how well it could have done if it actually was pushed.

The final three songs on their first album ("The Background," "Motorcycle Drive By," and "God of Wine") create the best last 15 minutes of an album that I have ever heard. All three are solid and by far my favorite Third Eye Blind songs and none of them were singles.
I'm looking forward to this album. Vanessa Carlton created a brilliant album based on breaking up with Stephen Jenkins and moving on with her life. I wonder if Stephen Jenkins can follow the same formula.

Third Eye Blind are one of my 5 favorite bands. "The Background", "Motorcycle Drive By", "God Of Wine", "Wounded", "Darkness", "Faster", "My Hit And Run", "Wake For Young Souls", "Forget Myself", "Good Man". There you go, nine fantastic songs by them that are not singles. Or "Camouflage", my favorite 3EB song, period. (But 5 of your 10 from "Out of the Vein", seriously? And which one of those isn't fantastic if there are only 9? )

I'm not a huge fan of "Palm Reader", "Can't Get Away From You", "Company", or "Danger". They're alright tracks within the context of the album but I never really listen to them on their own. "Self Righteous" is only decent too in my book.
I have to be honest, Out Of The Vein I think is almost as good as the self-titled. I like Blue, but I think some of the tracks are too out there, like "The Red Summer Sun", or just not all that memorable, like "Darwin" and "An Ode To Maybe", and "Never Let You Go" is way too played out for me to really enjoy too much anymore.

Oh wait, now I get what you said. I originally put nine and then I added "Forget Myself" to make it ten but then I forgot to change the number. Good catch.

lmaooooo........okay, i have to say on one listen i love the song, although i still have no idea what the song means yet....
I have to say I love Stephen Jenkins voice, I think its the one i like imitating most at karaoke, lol. I'd love to get Slow Motion with the lyrics and watch people's jaws drop open when I sang it. For those who have never heard it, search it on youtube or something, the label wouldn't let them release it with the lyrics, so it was an album instrumental but then circulated later on the net with the "controversial" lyrics.

Love this band, loved the last album, but I don't expect much. Not their fault, radio just doesn't give bands like them the time of day.

Wait....are they serious? I was certain this was a teaser album track. There's no way this song is remotely successful.

Eh. It isn't that interesting a song. But at least the title has me thinking of coffee.

It's pretty addictive, but won't do anything as far as airplay goes. The lyrics are catchy, although the repetition of "gay Republicans" is a little excessive.

Hopefully this is more "Semi Charmed Life" and "Jumper" than "Blinded".

What a huge letdown.
I do admire the M.I.A. reference in the outro, though.
