Today on Jack FM: "A Girl Like You" by the Smithereens. WHCN in Hartford plays this on occasion during 80's retro shows, despite it being a hit in 1990.

99.1 WPLR in New Haven is an original AOR from 35 years ago that plays a lot of great stuff. They regularly play Grand Funk's Some Kinda Wonderful, Van Morrison's Moondance, Joe Cocker's Feelin' Alright, and Billy Joel's Captin Jack. If this station ever switches formats I don't know what I'll do.

When I lived in Suffolk county we used to pick up the frequency over the Long Island sound. It was my favorite station.

oh yeah WPLR is still there. Can't find any old AORs these days, they all went to modern or mainstream, or "rock hits". What would anyone do without WPLR? Nothing like hearing the Allman Brothers jamming out on some deep album cut.
And OT-the other day, I had on 96.5 on Wayback Weekend and they played I Love Your Smile by Shanice. Can we say CHEESE?

My kids have a hard time believing that everyone in my school was into 'Eat a Peach' in the early 70's. I have to explain how big the Allman Brothers were on LI. (and southern rock in gen'l, Marshall Tucker, too) Now if I could find my 'Peach' t-shirt in the attic I'd be happy. But I think it disintegrated.

I was at Deep River Water Park for the better part of yesterday and I heard several obscure songs on the radio they had playing there (which was tuned into Jack FM, so that would be on the radio, which is why I'm posting it in this forum).
Anyhoo, I can't remember most of them, but the one that stands out in my mind right now is "Space Age Love Song" by A Flock Of Seagulls, which I haven't heard on the radio since January, 2002, when I heard it on AT40 Flashback. As for hearing it as part of regular programming - it hasn't been since 1983. Granted, the song wasn't a very big hit, but I heard it on WLS-FM in Chicago quite frequently in late 1982/early 1983.
EDIT: I also heard these songs on the way home:
Limelight/Rush Lick It Up/Kiss Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap/AC/DC I Don't Like Mondays/The Boomtown Rats In The Dark/Billy Squier
Wow! Looks like yes.com was a tad messed up, because it says nothing about "Space Age Love Song" even though it was also played on the way home. Same thing with a few other songs. But I know that "Limelight" was the song that way playing as I was leaving. Maybe they listed it in the wrong spot.

My battery died in my car so all the presets were gone. On 88.7 (or whatever the 1st station frequency is) at like 2:51am two nights ago, I heard Fool's Garden's "Lemon Tree." I've never heard that on the radio, even though it was popular in most of the world (outside the US).

Sky Pilot by the Animals was played on Oldies 103 today.
Now the Animals were a great great band and they had a lot of big hits and a lot of obscure ones. This one is NEVER played anymore

My pop station Wild 104 once added:
Chevelle, "The Red" Nappy Roots, "Po' Folks" Trapt, "Stillframe" My Hot AC station Star 105.7 once also added strange songs when it was a pop station.
Papa Roach, "She Loves Me Not" (In honor of them performing in my town) Green Day, "Warning" (This song did nothing on pop)

I heard two obscure songs on 94.9 The Coast this past weekend while I was taking a leisurely drive (as long as gas prices are at a reasonable level):
Please Don't Go by No Mercy The Politics Of Dancing/Re-Flex
The funny thing is, these songs were played practically back to back. When they said that music by No Mercy was coming up, I expected to hear "Where Do You Go", which isn't played very much either on the radio, so I was surprised when they played their follow-up soundalike.
As for the Re-Flex song, even though it was cool to hear another obscure song, I find that song quite annoying, so I switched the station at that point.

I heard "Believe In You" by Jude Cole on WEFM in Michigan City. I believe that song came out in late 1995 and was a mid-charter at AC.

Yesterday on WLEW I heard "In My Dreams" by REO Speedwagon. That was followed by a song which, while not necessarily obscure, could still be considered a rare find on stations these days - "Is it Love?" by Mr. Mister.

Actually, "Is It Love" is played quite often on the 80s stations I listen to, despite the fact that "Kyrie" and "Broken Wings" get a lot of airplay as well.
The song by Mr. Mister that would be considered obscure would be "Something Real (Inside Me/Inside You)", which charted around the same time as "In My Dreams".

It was the first time I'd ever heard "Is it Love?". I knew there was a song after "Is it Love?" that did chart low, I just couldn't think of the name.

I have an REO Speedwagon greatest hits CD and it has "In My Dreams" on there. Other songs they have that I would consider obscure are "Here With Me" and "That Ain't Love". I wish I had a station like WLEW or WEFM.

I heard Billy Idol's "Eyes Without A Face" on some Hot AC station this morning when I was driving through Cincinnati. I vaguely remember this song, but I can tell you, it was kind of good, and bad all at once.

awwwwwww Billy Idol was a fave of everyone back when I was in highschool.
Twice last week on two different radio stations I heard "Things I'd like to Say" by the New Colony Six. I thought it was the Association for a moment because the sound was from the same era.
