LMA is doing very well in OZ, and rightly so but again I can't see that song doing well in the US. In fact I see any other song on the album having a better shot at being a hit.

Michael, LMA would be HUGE in the US. Its fun, catchy & has relatable lyrics. That something people in the US love. IMO, for the summer, LMA would be HUGE. It has such a summer feel and vibe to it.

Nah man it's too campy. The US hates anything that sounds like it could be played in a Gay club. I hate that. Pop, dance wtc are all such great genres. Their loss.
Girlfriens is slowly starting to gain now... I wonder it if can hold on to another week at #1.

Nothing dancey about it. haha She will definately be able to hold onto #1 for another week.

Exactly. It's Pure pop. I did say Pop. And that's what it is. And the gay club reference is just that US radio is so freaking mucho these days it's pathetic. Pure pop hasn't charted since 2000.

LOL! Yeah it has. haha There are two different kinds of pure pop though. There is the dancey pop and the funky rock pop. The dancey pop isn't so popular anymore. But its mainly because it sounds so juvenile now. Songs like Walk Away & Girlfriend are pure pop, but in a different way than the pure pop such as Toxic or whatever. Do you get what I am getting at?? lol IMO, Leave Me Alone would do well here. Everybody I know loves that song. I actually havent found a someone I know who doesn't like that song. I can't say the same thing for U + Ur Hand though.

No I don't get ya mate. Pure pop is pure pop. Once you start categorizing it, it becomes pop/rock or dance/pop. And LMA is pure pop. Toxic did well because it is one of the best pop songs. PERIOD.

Thats true. Toxic did do well. I was just trying to show that there are different "sounds" of pure pop. Toxic, With Love & Stranger would be considered pure pop and so would this and Girlfriend and Walk Away. Yet the first don't sound like the last 3. Thats what I am trying to say. haha And actually pure pop is making its way back. Its just a more mature sounding pure pop.

I know but still, Walk Away and espeically Girlfriend are rock/pop. But I'm sorry I'm being an ass tonight. I'm tired and worn out. A big day. A good day, but a big one. Love me still?

I think they should go with Long Way To Happy. It's almost KT Tunstally in the guitar, lol, but catchy and radio friendly. Do that after 'Who Knew'. I want to see WK go Top 10.

'Leave Me Alone' will flop harder than 'Who Knew' did. I hope 'Long Way To Happy' is a single, it's the best song and my favorite on the record.

P!nk does BEST when her lyrics are a little unusual. Don't Let Me Get Me, Just Like a Pill, U and Ur Hand. All these huge hits were different than all the other "god I love you so bad" songs on the radio, and they are in your face and honest and fun at the same time.
I think that's why Who Knew flopped the first time, and why LWTH would probably flop if made the next single. They're great songs, but that's not what the US particularly wants, and especially not from P!nk. I think WK is such a good song that it might break the trend this time around, if it gets enough of a listening base, but I don't think LWTH could do it. People will look for the fun songs elsewhere and just forget about P!nk again.
LMA, on the only hand, has all the characteristics of a US P!nk hit: the interesting lyrics twists, and the fun, catchy beat. Probably her best bet for the next single.

LWTH is so generic and depressing for her next single. She needs another fun track to stand out from all these female ballads, like Cuz I Can or LMA.

THANK YOU! lol Atleast someone agrees with me. LMA might not be her biggest hit from the album. But it would definately not flop. haha The song is fun and actually has relatable lyrics.

I agree with you and no offense, but for people who dont live in the US, its probably hard to understand the US market from radio charts and sales. Its a lot different to live in the country and be immersed in the music and culture. Its a completely different outlook.
WK is not going to flop if its released because the record label will not let it. LMA will not flop because its a fun summer song, and on top of that, its coming off of a #1 upbeat hit. CIC would also be a hit. LWTH would be a hit. IND would be a hit. If you see where im going with it, none of these songs are going to flop. its coming down to personal preference and people just want their favorite song released when in reality none of them will flop because if the record label chooses, they wont let it.

Where is this 'the label won't let the song flop' thing coming from? That makes no sense. If a song flops, it flops.
The only way the label can save it is by using payola.

THANK YOU! I totally agree with everything you said. I mean I have seen charts in the UK and OZ and other places, but I don't say what would be a hit because I dont know. I don't live there. Its not my country! haha I totally think basically anything they release wouldn't flop. Even Nobody Knows! lol I don't understand how people think it would flop hard? No it may not be upbeat, but neither was "Because of You" or "My Immortal" and look how those fared. I think Nobody Knows might need more of a push than the other choices, but it certainly wouldn't flop. That song is genius and amazing. Her vocals are perfection on that song and people can relate to it. I honestly wouldn't be upset if it were a single.

BTW, im not talking about Payola, IM talking about promoting a song properly. they wont if Pink chooses but once they choose, they have no choice. these are small things like ads up on Download services and stuff like that. you would be surprised how much of a difference that makes. on top of that, its coming after a RADIO hit not a download hit which is a huge huge huge difference. Im glad the audience is finally on the rise. I think we will see a little jump on Billboard this week.

The US market is SO unpredictable, even those living there don't have a clue what will and wont do well. End of story. WK may do well because the label may payolla it's ass into next year but if Idol, freaking AMERICAN IDOL, can give it the digital sales it needs, nothing else will.
I love the song, but bring in LWTH. Even if this is a 'generic' song (really I'm not going to even GO THERE) it has a much better chance of doing well, than anything else off of this album.
AND it's a known fact, that US radio can't stand campy songs. Regardless of whether this is pop/rock, pure pop, the song is camp to the max.
