Right now, I don't really care if the album doesn't find commercial success. The quality is more important. :) Kelly fought hard to get it release so it must be good. Agreed.

If this topic can't stay on topic, we're going to have to temporarily lock it so that people can straighten out their priorities. And the imposter account has been delt with. This thread has been almost 120 pages of not staying on topic, so somehow I don't think there's much chance that it will now. I can always hope though. I agree with LPL...please, new single immediately. This is dropping like a brick and there needs to be something new to keep the hype up.

It will be interesting to see if she chooses (if she even gets a choice this time) an upbeat song or a ballad as her 2nd single. Upbeat worked for Avril with My Happy Ending and Gwen, but for Beyonce her success ended up being with Irreplacable, Ring the Alarm ended up hurting her even more. Also, Christina went with Beautiful after Dirrty and that was huge. So Kelly could go either way... poor NA :(

God RCA sucks!
I really don't understand them. They see that 'Never Again' is falling and yet they have not rush released a 2nd single and her album comes out in less than a month now. Why are they so dumb? Why do they wait SOOOO long between singles. The same thing happened with Chrisitna. They waited like 5 months between each single and now the album has completely fizzled away.
RCA=Officially the dumbest record label in the world.

Though remember how randomly NA appeared? We had been waiting for months to hear any news and then it was announced like 4 days before it went to readio. I have a feeling that out of the blue we're going to have her 2nd single when we least expect it. RCA=Officially the dumbest record label in the world. Yeah, Candyman and Never Again are both great songs IMO. It really is a shame. I hope that they learned something from B2B and will be different with MD but I highly doubt it

Never Again just isn't radio friendly. And Candyman flopped for OBVIOUS reasons.
RCA is not stupid. Why are Tranvil's and Daughtrys era going so well?

If Never Again and Candyman are obviously not radio friendly, is RCA smart for releasing them?
People are still hearing Never Again, just not very much. In a week or two would be a good time to release a new single. (I'm digging "Can I Have A Kiss".. but there's gotta be a super huge radio smash on MD somewhere! )

NA is supposedly the most radio friendly song on Kelly's album so....
And didn't Christina fight really hard for Candycrust to be released?
Its not RCA's fault when the artists they have are total b***hes. lmao

Says who? I think we should actually hear the album before saying that. I'm rooting for 'Sober.' I think it's a kick@$$ song, but yeah, perhaps not too radio friendly... Didn't that memo thing say that NA was the most radio friendly? Quote:"Gentlemen - Early reaction from US radio to the new Kelly Clarkson track would indicate that we have a mid charting single at best. This has also been echoed in Germany, The UK and several other key international territories. In early call out at key indicator stations the track has been coming in at the bottom of the pack. Although this research is early, we are very concerned about its potential to turn around and be a big enough hit single to drive sales. Additionally, we remain concerned about the depth of the record to deliver more reactive cuts for radio. With this in mind and knowing we wouldn’t be able to break a 2nd single in time for the July 24th release date, combined with the understanding that late July is problematic for some European territories, we have been able to get management to agree and move the record up to June 26th. Management has also agreed to provide a two week window for Kelly to complete European promo before her US tour starts in July. We recognize this isn’t the ideal outcome, but it affords us the opportunity to limit our spend and promote around this single in a much more condensed time frame." It doesn't necessarily say that... but it doesn't sound positive either. Did we ever figure out if this was real?

^^ Where did you hear Sober? Oops... I meant 'Haunted'. My bad Ahh, OK. For a moment there I thought maybe Sober had leaked. As to Candyman, it's one of my favorite tracks off of B2B. But like NA I can see why it didn't do well on radio.

On a side note...wow Administrator now...way to go EYEMAX! If this topic can't stay on topic, we're going to have to temporarily lock it so that people can straighten out their priorities. And the imposter account has been delt with.

And today's ugly numbers are:
Pop: 22 25 KELLY CLARKSON Never Again 2007 RCA/RMG 2618 3289 -671 14.113
Hot AC: 13 12 KELLY CLARKSON Never Again 2007 RCA/RMG 1599 1598 1 7.429
It looks like I'll be having to build two coffins now. *sigh*
I think they should give NA a week or two to completely die off, then release a 2nd single some time in mid-June.

well this song didn't drop anymore overnight. It's still -671 so I guess that could be seen as a good thing.

The label should and needs to release the second single a week before or on the week of the album release. The radio DJs can introduce the album and the new single at the same time.

I still think you guys are giving up too soon. If the RCA decides to push the single, it will start to climb again.
It is dropping on some stations, and increasing on others. So it looks like the RCA rep is working the stations as fast as she can.

RCA not pushing the single? Please, they wouldn't have booked so many TV spots, especially American Idol, if they didn't care.

Let's move on to the next single...
But, iTunes still loves it (STILL in the Top 10!) and will probably move up when Jordin and Blake's songs fall out in a week or so

Although I am a huge Carrie fan I also have a lot of time for kelly and think she is a superb singer
I have lost a lot of respect for RCA through their underground campaign to make this song less successful. I mean the new york post calls it awful today which is simply ridiculous - It may not be as catchy as some of the songs on breakaway but it is still a very good song delivered superbly

Well...that would be her management's job (the Firm) Yes that had nothing to do with the label, that's her great new management she attained from Breakaway, "Breaking away" from E19 management at the end of the Thankful era. At least THEY were with her on NA, the label? Not so much.. And LOL @ the stuff on page 77 - I knew it was going that way with the 2 legendtina's unfortunately.
