I'm going to support this song and her album just to stick it to Clive "moneybags" Davis Very cool!! I hope a lot of other people feel the same way as you because I have a very, very, bad feeling that Evil C or D.evil C isn't going to support this album. I have no proof of course, just this very, very, bad feeling nagging at me. I have no golden dreams of Clive supporting this cd. Oh well - if he choses to cut off his nose to spite his face, so be it. If word of mouth is strong for this cd, I think her sales will still be good. And don't forget the promo - all the print media and other promo upcoming for this cd. The info will be out there so I really think the success or failure of this cd (and, no, for me the cd doesn't have to go 5X platinum or more to be deemed a success) rides solely on how RCA/Clive backs it. I just want the cd, dermmit! Sooner rather than later. We gotta be only a week or two from a leak, right?

(Sorry, seriously, I know we need to ignore the trolls who keep trying to get this thread shut by taking it off topic and fueling the fanwars but that s**t was just too funny to ignore.) In case you've missed it, this is the post that started the latest fan war: So what's new? All fans are the same. no? With one or two exceptions, you're probably right. I've heard of one fanbase that actually gathers up personal, private, information on people that aren't fans of who they like, and then posts their name, phone number and address, on the internet. That to me is psychotic behavior. Normal people don't do that sh*t. Anyway, back to Never Again. :( I think it's done. :( But I'm still going to request at my local stations until I find out it's officially done. Just saying.

Yep, I think any post that fuels the fanwar should be ignored, regardless of which side posts it. Let it go, man, let it go. I WAS surprised to see a member of that fanbase FINALLY acknowledge that the whole posting of not-a-fans personal info does go on (prior to this it was adamantly denied anytime it was brought up) though so now I hope it can finally put a nail in that coffin. Good. It happens but it has nothing to do with PULSE and has no business here IMO. Deal with it at the source. Hopefully now both sides will be appeased - the not-a-fans got the acknowledgement they wanted and the fans finally admitted to what they have been doing. Win/Win. Moooooooooooooooooving on .....
And it has nothing to do with Never Again - which is what this thread is REALLY about heh

I was just responsing to the poster that said "So what's new? All fans are the same. no? ". I just said there were one or two that weren't the same and gave an example why they weren't all the same. It was YOU chose to take it personally and turn it into what YOU decided was a fanwar. Now I really am officially done with this. Here's a comment from Joe Perry about his participation in the AI Finale. It just seems, to me, that any Artist who was perceived as a threat to Queen Kelly was viciously attacked by certain people. It is still happening every day. There has been a lot of back pedaling but there are still at least 2 blogs that are devoted to ruining one particular man's career and reputation. Let's not say it as a past tense because it is very much still going on but they hide behind anonymous names. Kelly's success or failure will not be decided by a few people on the internet. Her talent and her relationship with her label will decide that.

Hee! If I decided whether or not I bought a CD based on the cover, I never would have picked up Breakaway. I hate the picture they used.

LMAO! What does an album COVER have to do with the contents of an album? Answer: It means absolutely nothing. Case-in-point The Black Album by Metallica. Their biggest selling album and the cover is pure black(with a little line drawing of a snake). and how about another big seller.."The White Album" by the Beatles

But unless there are better songs than Never Again on this album, I doubt I'll be buying My December...,.even if it means sticking it to Clive.

^^ HEE! MacGyver!! My bf got the Dvds of the show and we've been watching them. The show is awesome!
(BTW, Richard Dean Anderson is way cuter now then he was back then. No one should have a mullet.)
Really? I didn't know that, you never seem to like anything Kelly does.

A s**tty song, bad press and a s**tty cover will seal the deal for most people. Am I the only one who read this real fast and thought it said shitty covers (as in cover songs) and not a shitty cover (as in cd cover)? I thought I had clicked into the wrong thread for a minute there haha Some people actually decide whether to buy a cd or not based on the cover art? Oy Vey Do they plan to listen to the cd or just stare at the cover? (Pssssst, just a helpful hint: you can print out cd covers online if they are really pretty and you don't like the cd. And you can toss out the artwork if you really hate a cd cover). I thought the bad press was suppose to be just a publicity stunt to get the cd more buzz? Some people need to make up their mind heh

It was YOU chose to take it personally and turn it into what YOU decided was a fanwar. Now I really am officially done with this. I don't consider any Pulse member that does not love everything Kelly does as fanwar fodder, I think someone else here is taking things too personally. Just remember that the archives are available to everyone. Just saying....

We were talking about Kelly's shitty songs here not some other artist that you feel like bashing in Kelly's thread.

I know it galls some people when I say I don't think this song is done but OU posted some numbers from the weekend and the song increased in spins from Friday to Sunday
Fri. 5/25..............317 Sat. 5/26.............332 Sun. 5/27...........348
I have to wonder if the problem with this song isn't that it shot up the chart so quickly, too large of a bullet to sustain itself and therefore the requist drop. She appears to be in a holding pattern at the moment. -689 for the last two updates...which on the surface seems bad but she's still receiving over 2,500 spins per week.
I don't think this song will regain a + bullet but it wouldn't surprise me if it held right in this spot for a few weeks and even rose a little as the time for her album approaches.

Um, who was bashing anyone? All I said was I read it as shitty covers and couldn't figure out what that had to do with Kelly and therefore thought I had clicked into the wrong thread (there have been a plethera of shitty cover cd's over the past three years or so - no offense necessarily to the artist so not sure how that is a fanwarish thing to say?)
Holy personal attacks, batman! Chillalillbit already. *sits back and waits for the mods to do their job*
Kelly Clarkson. Never Again. Remember her and that song? Yeah, subject of this thread.
My station seems to have leveled out once again on this song, after it lost 5 spins last week. It's still in the top 10 playa's so I'm happy. :)

My Reflection - I have a link to a pretty handy dandy cool chart thingy to track songs. IM me if you don't have it (it shows all the formats and spins this week vs last week thing, it's updated daily). I think you would enjoy checking it out. I don't have the link with me on this puter so I'll have to hook you up with I get home.

I completely disagree with this post. Kelly is a MONEYMAKER for RCA....radio airplay isn't how labels make their money, it's through CD sales and downloads...Kelly's last album sold over 12 MILLION worldwide and NA is still getting pretty damn impressive download sales, as is her video. Yeah, this might have been an airplay flop, but they sure made a s***load of money off of it anyway. I think this is a pretty inaccurate statement at this point in time. She has been a moneymaker in the past on her 2nd CD, but there is no guarantee that this CD will be. The sales haven’t been bad, but seriously, it has made no where near the amount of money already invested up to this point, so to claim they have made a bunch of money off of it is totally false at this stage. It’s sold what, several hundred thousand downloads at 99 cents each? That’s nothing compared to the cost and amount they have shelled out at this point. If they don’t have faith in it, pouring more money in is not a sound business decision. Agree or disagree, I stand by my original statement. They need to wait until they see what happens with the first few weeks of sales. If they are really good, go with a second single if they really think there is a winner on there. If they don’t, why waste another million or so on another video, promos, radio push etc, if it’s also only going to gain a few hundred thousand downloads. No smart business continues to spend millions to make thousands. Very cool!! I just want the cd, dermmit! Sooner rather than later. We gotta be only a week or two from a leak, right? This kind of plays into the first post. If they don’t believe in it, they shouldn’t continue to sink money into it. She has 2 CDs from the past, one of which only had 1 or 2 reasonable hits, and the other had several. How do they know, or why should they assume they have another CD #2 seller as opposed to CD #1 seller? If she had tons of previous CDs, you could use an average of past performances. She only has 2 though – so average says just that – they are 1 for 2. The "choosing to cut his nose off" is really kind of dumb. They are a business with hundreds of artists, Kelly is only one of them. Their business does not and will not sink or swim based on one Kelly CD. Sorry, she is just not that big in the grand scheme of a multi-billion dollar company. sorry but with "never again" and that album cover i do not think i will be purchasing my december. sorry kelly. One song and an album cover will decide whether you buy the Cd or not? Okay..your loss LMAO! What does an album COVER have to do with the contents of an album? Answer: It means absolutely nothing. While I don’t think an album cover will totally turn people off that want to buy or like the music, to assume it has no affect on people is showing a lack of business understanding. If that were the case, all CDs might as well have plain white packaging instead of expensive, and sometimes elaborate photo shoot pictures. The CD cover does matter, as dumb as some might think that sounds. Take a marketing course, it’s one of the first things you learn – packaging is extremely important, just as placement in stores etc. is. You want to catch the eye of the non-diehards (who would buy regardless). If you don’t get their attention, you have no chance for a sale. So while you don’t lose committed buyers, you also don’t gain impulse buyers walking down the aisle, glancing around. That cover is the first thing they see that MIGHT entice them to stop and pick it up to look at, instead of walking on by it. I have done that many times if sometime catches my eye. Something ugly or non appealing doesn’t generally inspire me to check it out further. I have bought many CDs that I had no intention of buying or even looking for just because I noticed them, and was interested enough to pick them up and see what was on them. Then the songs take over the decision whether to buy or not.
