Wow, #9 on the HOT 100? You go Kelly hahah
I gave up (on POP). I thought she was done (On POP - although I did say that if anyone could do it, my money would be on Kelly - so do I atleast get half a cookie haha). It's nice to see her negative bullet shrinking - and I DO think that the d/l #'s are a great indication that people DO like this song.
*puts fork away - for now haha*

I DO think that the d/l #'s are a great indication that people DO like this song. It may not be the most radio friendly song to some , but I lurve it. The video is hawt and its a great song to scream at the top of your lungs(im an awful singer so its easier for me to yell). I hope it has some longevity cause its a great song.

I really, really hope Top 10 on Hot 100 again and a slight shrink in negative bullet is the start of some second wind... but sadly, I honestly think it's just a temporary blip and wouldn't be at all surprised to see this song go -1000 or something in the near future. I really don't want to piss you Kelly fans off, but really, her label trying to give this another push would be useless, the most they could ever get out of it is probably a -200 or something. Far more productive thing would be to send out a radio-friendly second single to ensure this album is the smash Breakaway follow-up it deserves to be!

Album release is less than 4 weeks away and the best promotion Kelly can get is a -500 bullet on the radio charts? Are fans actually cheering for that? Wow.

#9 on hot100 is purely because of digital download (idol performance). it'll be out of top 10 next week as the airplay kept on dropping this song is done airplay wise on pop and hot AC. too bad ....... i dont even care about NA and singles, i just cant wait to hear the full album!!!!!!

perhaps you missed yesterdays leaks of some of the songs and bloggers are ALREADY buzzing about this album...in addition to MTV announcing this song will be on the leak a week before it drops, which is a first for a Kelly album so I'm excited about that!
We're not "cheering" a -500 bullet persay we're cheering that this song didn't drop like a brick the way many were hoping and praying it would.
Why does it seem to bother you so much legend that the Kelly fans continue to be supportive of Kelly and her single even if it did underperform? are you just used to fairweather fans who jump ship at the first sign of a struggle? Kelly fans aren't like that...we'll stick with her regardless of whether this song rebounds or slides right into the abyss....
to be accurate the airplay on certain stations IS increasing...it's just not increasing enough to see this song regain a positive bullet.

Yep..maybe you should take a lesson from us and hope Aguilera releases "Slow Down Baby" and cheer her on even if she flopped with Candyman ;) I too wish she could have one more successful single run before ending the B2B era.
Ok so who's gonna be bold and predict -300ish by Sunday? I will simply cuz I know even if her TW spins stay around the same her LW spins are gonna plummet, probably -300ish by the weekend, therefore the spin difference will be drastically less even if she does go down say 100 spins from right now.
I predict -370ish by Sunday, but I'm hoping for even less!

I don't put much creditability into any blogger's opinions. Many are already biased toward one artist or another, hence the reason why I rarely quote any blogger.

well I had said I was hoping for -400 by Sunday LOL... I would totally pucker up for that one RuRu ;) I wasn't even following radio stats back then....I didn't care when or if Kelly played on radio and I didn't care how much her album sold... ahhh those were the days when being a fan was so simple... she held steady again for the afternoon update...no change...

I take bloggers' opinions for what they are... just another person's opinion. But it's like they're sharing their opinion with a small or large group of friends. Helping to get the word out (especially if it's positive!) is a good thing.

well I had said I was hoping for -400 by Sunday LOL... Well now that she's lower 500's that's weak! BOLD I say!! J/k j/k haha, yah that's actually pretty realistic and not far off of -370ish anyway so I hope were both near right. Besides after it going from +2001 to +600 to + 100ish in a short two weeks all we really should do is be realistic and not greedy ;) I would totally pucker up for that one RuRu ;) See I knew it! Make sure the webcam is on, thanks! (J/k j/k don't kill me lol) I wasn't even following radio stats back then....I didn't care when or if Kelly played on radio and I didn't care how much her album sold... ahhh those were the days when being a fan was so simple... she held steady again for the afternoon update...no change... Haha yah, those were the days. Of course instead of years for me it was more like a couple months lol. I feel into the chart game fairly fast...can't blame me, I'm a guy - so its like in relation to favorite basketball or football teams fighting and stats lol. You know how that goes ;) I'm glad I wasn't such that fan back with the WBT vs BTHE fight. Kidding me 7 weeks of top spot fighting, I woulda had gray hairs lol. Btw the afternoon update in 99% of cases is crap, hardly any change on the entire chart, so its tomorrow's AM numbers that matter ;)

It certainly isn't my favorite Kelly song by any stretch of my imagination but there is something so intriguing about this song.

which is completely understandable and within your right to do...and I didn't quote anyone...I merely pointed out that there IS buzz surrounding this album...bloggers are the new "in" source for information...Perez Hilton is basically a blogger with a mean streak lol.... and I agree with OU, bloggers are just other people's opinions, just like what we get here in a way....only in one cohesive entry instead of in multiple posts.
yeah I know... but I still like saying she remained steady ;)
OHH can I be cindy lu who? I love her pony tail on top of her head! great description Un4!

I'm just looking at things from a marketing point of view. While i love Christina Aguilera and never hated on her just because some of her singles flopped, i didn't agree with some of her decisions. But i was still supportive of her all the way and i still will be. I expect the Kelly fans to be the same way to her. However, i am the type that likes to look at things from a commercial point of view. I like songs that top the charts, and i hate songs that flop. That's just how i am. I watch the charts very carefully. Stuff like that interests me a lot. LOL...maybe i should be a record label executive. If i was one though...Kelly and Christina won't be gettin' passed me without throwing an 'Irreplaceable' or 'Hips Don't Lie' on their CD somewhere. Clive was weak to give in to Christina and Kelly.

wow...just wow... you have no clue what GREAT music you're missing out if your musical library is based SOLELY on songs that top the charts....seriously...expand your horizons...
I disagree...Clive was a FOOL to question them... Music should NEVER be about what the charts say...if it were we wouldn't have some of the most fantastic music out there.... Patty Griffin has never topped a chart in her career, neither has Ray Lamontgne (?)....there are just so many bands and musicians who NEVER reach that peak and their music is f'g brilliant....
it's about the art....I mean music is creative...music is passion....music is about life...and life can't be measured in graphs and charts and how well something performed...cuz not everything is a chart topper and sometimes the things that don't top the charts turn out to be the best experiences in the long run...
I'm just sad for anyone who allows the Billboard and/or airplay charts to dictate their musical choices to them... that's called being a lemming.... they walk right off the cliff if all the other lemmings do it first... no thanks..

Why are you arguing with me? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I like songs that top the charts. Why is this so hard to believe? Why does that mean i don't know good music and you do? That's your opinion, this is mine. Don't attack me or call me sad just because my favorite song right now happens to be #1 on some chart. The fact of the matter is, if these songs weren't enjoyed by people, then they wouldn't be topping the charts. Its' that simple. So if i like #1 songs, then obviously others do too...that's why their #1! And as for the artists you named, i could care less about them unless i heard one of their songs on the radio and it became a hit.
I'm not saying Kelly and Christina shouldn't be allowed to do what they want. They should. All i am saying is maybe they should be a little considerate with where the label is trying to come from. Christina was---she did record 'Slow Down Baby' and 'Ain't No Other Man'. I would let my artists do what they want, as long as they can provide me with 3 or 4 radio material singles.

And for the record, there are a lot of #1s that i hated. But i'm not going to sit here and bash them and question peoples tastes. If people like certain songs, then they like them. I hate 'This Is Why I'm Hot', but i understand why it's a hit.

But you like them BECAUSE they go to #1 whereas songs usually go to #1 BECAUSE people like them. There's a difference.

It came off wrong. What i mean is, usually the songs that i like end up topping the charts. I have a very mainstream musical taste. That's all i meant. I did't mean 'oh this song is number one now so i have to like it'. Not true at all. I hated a lot of #1s, like 'This is Why I'm Hot' and 'Home' (well according to Clive it's a #1). I have also realized that almost every song that has topped Top 40 radio, i have loved. At least i know what format i'll always be listening to...even when i'm 50.

Artists should be allowed to do what they want, but at the same time they should also understand that this is a business. If you are signed on to a major record label it is your responsibility to be making money for them. If you don't want to make money, then you should've never signed with them to begin with. An artist and record label should always be able to meet in the middle. How has Madonna been able to make 'her music' yet still be very commerciall over the last 25 years? She's smart enough and knows how to express her vision but at the same time make it commercial. Everyone signed on to a major record label should be doing this, or otherwise they need to be booted asap.

I think 'My December' is Kelly's best work to date,. and that's because of her. But it wouldn't have been a bad idea to force her to record one automatic hit to throw on the album.
