P!nk doesn't have a -600 bullet though. I think 'Lonely No More' by Rob Thomas rebounded from a pretty big deficit, I'm not quite sure... How minus did it get fel? I thought it dropped pretty far before it started to come back. I checked the thread but all those posts were ones that disappeared when the thread imploded. :( The P!nk fans should know. I'm not very sure how low did it dropped before bouncing back but surely not -600.

not to get this off track and into a pink discussion but how quickly did that song rise on the charts cuz NA shot off like a rocket so her drop would've been more substantial IMO...

I thought P!nk dropped to about -90. Correct, and 4 positions.

not to get this off track and into a pink discussion but how quickly did that song rise on the charts cuz NA shot off like a rocket so her drop would've been more substantial IMO... It rocketed so fast up the charts it took *24* weeks to gain the #1 spot, just to put it in perspective ;) Its the slowest moving song to gain #1 in CHR/Pop Mediabase history. Its not so much that it was that it had a 'small bullet', its more of the fact it made a rebound and it was claimed dead by many back when it was in the 30's (and went down to position #40). Check with Theo on this but I'm sure the biggest bullet Pink ever had was when it pushed to top 10 and had +1001 or something (Kelly had +2001 lol). I'm assuming the point in comparision is that if Kelly came on a comeback would it be considered a bigger feat? Answer is "Yes". Kelly's range went from +2k to -600 in 4 weeks, Pinks was infinately more stable, (something like from +300ish to -90ish then to +200ish within the course of 4 weeks). Its also the reason why so many fewer people think she can resurge, the spin difference between Pink's situation and Kelly's situation is enormous. P.S. YEP Shan, we just might be dead on for Sunday!

As it gets closer to the CD release, I'd expect this to regain a bullet. Maybe not a huge one, but I think it'll regain. It's come a long way already in slowing down, so why not?
We've got, what, four weeks until CD relaese? I think this is turning around just in time.
I still love this song.

Any word when the next single is being released? I see Sober being released in Fall/Winter 07.

Come on now. They better not mess up this era like they did Christina's. There needs to be a second single, and fast.

IF Evil C. is intent on messing with this era, then he probably moved up the album release date to mess with the singles timing, PLUS, whatever promo they had already scheduled around the original release date. Notice a lot of the promo is for July. IF.

I'm sorry did someone actually just say this song has had tremendous longevity? I won't quote the person that said it because my job is not to embarrass people, but you better edit that ASAP before you get laughed at.
'Dirrty' climbed to #14, then plummeted all the way to #36 or #38 before regaining like a +300 bullet and climbed back up to #30 and stayed in that range for like two months. I don't think that's really out of the question for 'Never Again', but come on, even if that did happen...that's not going to be good enough to keep it out of the flop bin airplay wise.

Focus, but the July mags usually come out in June, right? so I think that's OK.
I do hope that RCA has found a way to get the second single out before the album drops though.

I don't think the second single needs to come out just yet. NA, while underperforming on radio, is still being heavily promoted as well as the album. I don't think that a second single would help anything right now except possibly causing NA to drop faster... which doesn't neet to happen because it's holding more steady now in the mid 20's on radio. Though the song is not all over the radio, Kelly's name is still everywhere and I think once the album drops then RCA can start promoting the second single. Though you guys are right - they shouldn't wait too long in between singles. I just don't want overexposure to happen, the radio is still saturated with songs from Breakaway.

Well, while 'Never Again' has not performed well in the airplay department, it's sales on the other hand are showing some signs of longevity holdig in the Top 10 of iTunes song sales in it's sixth week of sale. Because of that reason, I think it is too early to release another single...but that's just my two cents. BTW, Focus, you always have the eye-catching avatars, but your latest is just brilliant with the old man doing the the Paula clap....the poor gomer looks like a f'in seal *artificially* clapping away after Kelly's 'Never Again' performance

'Never Again' isn't sucking that bad. Come on. It can easily carry the weight until the album drops, then I say mid-july she should release a mid-tempo track, Kelly does well with mid-tempo. Something light. I do think they'll end up releasing 'One Minute' though.

This shit is bananas ..... b-a-n-a-n-a-s!! haha
Gooooooooooo Never Again! Milk it baby, milk it! I'm enjoying watching this song, it all it's see-saw glory hahaha.
So, tomorrow will it end and the bullet start getting a bigger negative again - or will she continue to rebound and be closer to -400 than -500.
I can't wait to find out heh

I really don't get how this is doing so poorly though on pop at the moment and its sales are so consistant. It's been in the iTunes Top 10 for 6 weeks counting.
Are people buying the song just b/c it's Kelly Clarkson? That's just silly.
That means that for the last 6 weeks (other than Maroon 5's 'Makes Me Wonder', what else has been more consitant lately?), this song has been popular enough to remain in the Top 10 of the most important digital music site, but people don't want to hear it on the radio?
Something is fishy me thinks.

^FO REAL! Something just isn't right. This song should be the biggest hit of the summer. If only the PUBLIC had control over radio, like I Tunes or MuchMusic. Sadly, that's not the case.

the itunes sales have confused me too. Six weeks in the top 10, and the video has been in the top 10 since its debut too... yet the radio callout results were "terrible" and it couldn't make it out of the top 20 in airplay.
The Z100 countdowns are interesting... I really hope it's a sign of things to come, but those stations that dropped the song completely will be hard pressed to begin giving it spins again.

I hope you are correct OU, I would love this song to be the turnaround of the year (even though it is highly unlikely to do so). I am not much of a conspiracy theorist at all but all the positive single and live reviews, sales, and blogs have me a bit suspicious.....

The spins should increase just a little bit more before we get excited about the bullet shrinking.
I'm starting to hope OM is the next single. After hearing the rehearsal version of OM (even if t's not that clear) over and over, i'm starting to love it even more.

He looks at the top ten songs: Casual User: Oh, Kelly Clarkson has a new song out? :Casual User downloads it. ^^ That doesn't make sense unless the casual user is a complete idiot. You can listen to a clip of the song on iTunes before buying it, or listen to the entire song on any number of other web sites, or watch the music video on youtube, ect. IMO, the steady dls are b/c people do like the song, and not just because of some pavlovian impulse to buy new Kelly music.

There is a million ways to listen to a song before you buy it on I Tunes. Why the hell would anyone spend money on a song they have never heard before. You buy a song 'cause you like it and want to listen to it. Troll can't figure that out, sadly it's too hard to understand.

A lot of people listen to their iPod than the radio stations (like me).
