Ok, I may be on drugs, but I fucking love this! Couldn't be better! It will be a smash on my personal chart! NFG FTW!
I'll review it tomorrow, by then I should be sober!

:o :o :o This is absolutely amazing! Honestly, some of the BEST material I've ever heard from NFG and sooo much better than I expected. I really hope this puts them back on the map in the mainstream again and becomes at least halfway successful. Way to go from my hometown boys!

Um, are we listening to the same song here? To me this just sounds like the same generic pop-punk they've always churned out.
Their best IMO is "Hit or Miss", and this song actually kinda reminds me of that.

I like these guys, but I'm not hearing anything here that sounds much different from their other stuff. It doesn't even have a huge hook, which seems to be the only thing they can ride to big hit status.

You have to understand that "Hit Or Miss" is one of my all-time favorite songs and it completely put NFG on the map, so hearing anything similar to that is just amazing to me.
Besides, how much could they possibly change from their past sound? They're not going to do a total 360 degree turn and become a death metal band! I'm just really glad they released a song with a faster pop-punk sound than I hate to say it than their sort of "emo crap" in their past two full-length albums.

I think they've got their niche and they do what they do pretty well, and I also prefer their more upbeat stuff to their others. (I actually really like "It's Not Your Fault," but most of the other tracks on that album weren't so much my thing.) The only reason I commented as I did was, seeing the initial reactions here, it seemed like they'd done something, like, awe-inspiring, so I was a bit confused when it sounded, well, exactly like a New Found Glory song usually sounds.

I'm just really glad they released a song with a faster pop-punk sound than I hate to say it than their sort of "emo crap" in their past two full-length albums. That first part you wrote, works for me too! I'm talking about NFG, my 3rd favorite band of all time! About that second, I loved Catalyst and Coming Home! I loved the earlier albums too! Like I said before, Coming Home may be my favorite. I'm glad they returned to this sound, thought! I miss the pop punk of the early 00's...Every band dispelled from that sound and for me it's a really good thing to hear it again! With new songs! There's a big whole in terms of pop-punk (I don't get how some people label bands like "Boys Like Girls" or "Metro Station" pop punk, when they are nothing more than pop rock bands). The abilty of changing the sound and still sound like the same band is one of NFG's strengths. At least for me Sticks And Stones, Catalyst, Coming Home and Tip Of The Iceberg (It's an EP) have all a distinctive sound, something uncommon for a pop punk band. For me "Listen To Your Friends" seems to have some elements that didn't exist in any of their previous songs... The pre-chorus is insanely catchy, even for NFG standards and those gang vocals at the end work pretty well. I would say it sounds like a mix between Sticks And Stones with Catalyst, just like how the album is supposed to sound (according to Jordin, the vocalist). I know they won't get new fans and reach a new kind of audience with this one, but I'm sure every NFG fan is pleased with this song (and so am I)! I'm almost sure it won't give them a comeback hit, but I would be extremely happy if it could reach the Modern Rock chart.

It's not ground breaking, you're right! That's was just my reaction after listening to it for the first time. Normal, considering how much I like NFG's music. I won't say that it sounds like NFG, for me it sounds like inspired NFG. That means gold for me! Those were the reasons for my excited reaction.

Still a good song, but "It's Not Your Fault" or "Failure's Not Flattering" or "I Don't Wanna Know" is a perfect example of the new material I wasn't hoping to hear. Sure, this song isn't the greatest thing since Wireless Internet or iPods or cell phones, but it definitely makes me satisfied to know that at least on this track, the sound I missed is back :)

Here's the artwork for "Listen To You Friends". Simple, nothing more. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------iTunes Top 100 Alternative Songs: 37. Listen to Your Friends - New Found Glory It has been rising a bit the whole day... When I first noticed its presence (around 14 hours ago) it was #55. Let's see if it goes a bit higher (not that it matters that much). Probably won't chart on the top 200 of Hot Digital Songs next week, unless it reaches top 20 on the Top 100 Alternative Songs.

The excited reactions really made me laugh. Even though I posted the youtube link I didn't even listen to it at first. Then I saw yall freak out so I gave it a listen. It's....good. I really don't know how else to describe it. It's no "My Friends Over You" or "Downhill" but it's listenable. But I really don't get all the excitement. But hey, I'm not one to judge, I'm glad yall like it.
EDIT: To the poster above me, are you trying to upstage me with that avatar? haha

The excited reactions make me laugh too, this is average at best. It reminds me of something released in 2002 that might make a blip on the chart radar. I mean....I don't know, it's really not that good, for NFG fans, it does sound like their earlier stuff. Also in their defense, I never understood why they never at least hit the CHR Top 20 a few times, I did like the song, "I Don't Wanna Know".

o the poster above me, are you trying to upstage me with that avatar? haha I've had this Dolphins avatar presentable for about a month and a half now since I realized they'd actually have a legit chance at making the playoffs. Hell, I'm still in shock that they went 11-5 and it happened and they're the division champions after going 1-15 last season. Good thing our teams are in totally different conferences right? :) At least your guys get the bye week next week. I'm all nervous and psyched at the same time about the Fins matchup against the Ravens on Sunday. Anyway, good luck and maybe our teams will play each other in the Super Bowl Anyway, back on-topic to NFG.

I knew you had that up, so I don't know why I said avatar. I just noted that we had the same thing written under our avatars except for the division name lol. Hopefully both make the super bowl, I think the Dolphins should be able to beat the Ravens but the Steelers might overwhelm them, hopefully I'm wrong though. Anyway, back on-topic to NFG. Oh yeah, well I still think this is a "Good" song. Maybe after a few more listens it'll grow a bit. But I think the best thing these guys have going for them is how instantly catchy their songs usually are, but this doesn't have that. MFOY, ADFM, IDWK, and INYF (overuse of acronyms?) were instant hits for me. This one, not so much.

No signs of it on the radio. I've been checking allaccess every day and it seems it wasn't been added to any station. Come on Epitaph! What about an adds date? It didn't chart on the top 200 of Hot Digital Songs. This was previsible. I'm almost sure #37 on Alternative Songs was its peak on iTunes. I can be wrong, because iTunes was really slow around one week ago.

I'm sure WPBZ down here will start playing it as soon as they receive a copy of the song. Obviously, they play quite a bit of NFG since they're local.
