Wow! Wasn't expecting this to leak so early! :o I came from school and I discovered that the new NFG record leaked and that blink-182 are going to present on the Grammys. What a freaking good day! The album comes out on March 10th! Ugh, this may affect first week sales a lot. I'm hoping for at least 25k and a top 20 placement. But, oh well I have already listened to it in full for 3 times, and i love it, just like I expected. Really catchy! It sounds like "Sticks And Stones", "New Found Glory", "Nothing Gold Can Stay" or some of the heaviest songs from "Catalyst", without synthesizer, but clearly heavier and full of breakdowns. I think it's fair to say they were influenced by a new wave of bands like "A Day To Remember" or "Four Year Strong". I'm pretty sure that everyone who used to love New Found Glory and didn't like Coming Home, will devour "Not Without A Fight". It's their back to roots album. I'm almost sure I'll never like this as much as I liked "Coming Home" but it may become my 2nd favorite NFG record, the only thing that makes that difficult it's the lack of diversity in the songs. "Catalyst", "Coming Home" and even "Sticks And Stones" were stronger in that point. For me the standout tracks are "Listen To Your Friends", "Don't Let Her Pull You Down" and Tangled Up". In a minor standout scale (that's a bit dumb ), I would put "Don't Let This Be The End", "Truck Stop Blues" and "Right Where We Left Off". This would be my singles run choice: 1. Listen To Your Friends 2. Don't Let Her Pull You Down 3. Tangled Up 4. Don't Let This Be The End 5. Right Where We Left Off I believe it's unlikely that there are going to exist more than 3 singles from this album, though.

128 kbps isn't a leak, it's a disgrace. Why do people insist on passing around low quality leaks? It's like the people who keep passing around the advance leak of Glass Passenger. Some guy on a forum about leaks asked about the retail version and everyone was like "Who cares?" It's like settling for rancid pork when you could be eating prime beef. It's disgusting. lolwut it sounds perfect to me.

So, I found a 192 version of the album and had to give it a listen. The anticipation was KILLING me! Overall, I have to completely agree that it sounds like Sticks & Stones Part II and it's mostly what I was hoping to sound like. I still cannot compare it the awesomeness of their self-titled or Nothing Gold Can Stay albums from way back when they were still mostly known locally down here. Either way, I'm very happy to hear them go back to their pop-punk roots rather than the mostly "emoness" that Coming Home & Catalyst had. I'm really really hoping for some decent success with Listen To Your Friends, but I'm not expecting too much since they haven't even started playing it locally here and it went for adds last week I believe.

New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert has offered his thoughts on his band’s new album leaking online:
“As far as the leaking thing. If my favorite bands cd came out early online i would download it to. For instance the new Morrissey record. I dont think it comes out for another 2 weeks and i’ve had it for like 3 weeks now. I will still buy it though because when i love a band or singer i gotta have the album artwork. It is a bumm out that some of the anticipation is lost…the whole building up to release date loses a bit of its excitement but to be honest the fans that would go out of their way to download it are the true fans that go out of their way to buy merch and post online about how much they like it and are the ones that will know the words first and sing every song at the show. You are driven to get it because you like NFG so how can I be bummed at that! So to all that have it. Spread the word if you like it and get people to go pick it up when it comes out! Not even for our sake but for epitaphs to. They are so passionate about NFG and our fans. They are true music lovers and they try to always put together cool and fun stuff for fans of this genre of music.“
I was really hoping he'd call you guys out lol.

Go pick it up when it comes out! Not even for our sake but for Epitaph's too...They are true music lovers..." That doesn't explain Escape the Fate's presence on their label...possibly others, too.

Well we all can't afford to buy everything we remotely like or are curious about (except albums I know I want physical copies of).
At least by taking the initiative to hear the music, I'll be more likely to support the artist in the future, whether that be liking something enough to buy a real copy later or going to a show, or whatever.

Nope, it's still rising on Mediabase: Yesterday it reached a new peak on Alternative spins. It had 86 spins, so it should be in the 60's. I believe that "It's Not Your Fault" never went so high both in position and number of spins.

Album leaked, but "I'm The Fool" is not included in the leak. "I'm The Fool" is only a japanese bonus tracks. Don't get why, imo it's stronger than a few tracks on the album. From what I've heard on AbsolutePunk.net, everybody is pleased with this song and has the same opinion that I have.

The video for "Listen To Your Friends" will be released on March 10th, the album also drops that day.
Really excited to see "Not Without A Fight" first week sales.
25k would be a good result and would allow them to debut at least on the top 20 of BB200. I only hope sales are over 20k, less than that would be a disappointment.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From wikipedia.org:
"The album was released earlier in Australia, on February 20th, to coincide with the band's appearance on the Soundwave Festival. In its first week the album hit #36 on the ARIA chart"."
Here are the peaks from the other NFG charting albums in Australia:
2002 - Sticks And Stones - #33 2004 - Catalyst - #32 2006 - Coming Home - #48
An improvement over their last studio album "Coming Home".

Not too bad considering the single is not even being played locally here >:(

Not Without A Fight was #9 on Hits Daily Double with 26k but with soundscan results it was #12 with 23k. Decent sales with an excellent position. It's NFG 4th top 20 album in US. "I'm The Fool" was a bonus track on iTunes and it was also the only song to reach the Alternative top 100 songs in the week the album came out. It peaked at #19 there. Not Without A Fight fell of the BB200 this week. It spent 4 weeks on the chart. Ugh at the second week huge drop in position and sales. 12 NEW FOUND GLORY NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT 23,347 239 999 23,586 74 NEW FOUND GLORY NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT 6,598 23,347 -72 30,184 140 NEW FOUND GLORY NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT 4,128 6,598 -37 34,312 166 NEW FOUND GLORY NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT 3,591 4,128 -13 37,903 Here are the peaks and debut week sales from the other NFG charting albums in US: 2000 - New Found Glory - #107 (Couldn't find info about the debut week sales, plus those would probably not be the highest sales week of the record, 'cause it debuted at #168.) 2002 - Sticks And Stones - #4 - 91k 2004 - Catalyst - #3 - 147k 2006 - Coming Home - #19 - 38.8k It debuted at #83 in UK, an improve over Coming Home. On its first day, it sold 1012 copies and was #57. Here are the peaks from the other NFG charting albums in UK: 2000 - New Found Glory - #136 2002 - Sticks And Stones - #10 2004 - Catalyst - #27 2006 - Coming Home - #86 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It seems like "Listen To Your Friends is finally dead at Alternative. It's going for adds to CHR/Top 40 on April 21st. It did its job on Alternative and the main problem was the low number of stations playing the song. Using Mediabase Quick Cut Data, it peaked with 114 spins on April 7th and April 8th updates. At that time, 7 stations were playing the song. In a chat the band did on AbsolutePunk.net, it was said that "47" is likey to be the second single.

I saw NFG along with Bayside, Set Your Goals, and Shai Hulud last Monday for the first time in 6 1/2 years for their hometown show down here and it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen out of probably about the 60-70 that I've attended. I'm glad their album is selling considering "Listen To Your Friends" is getting almost no airplay :(
