I have nothing against Katy in general so please don't mistake this for trolling, but this is honestly the WORST vocal performance on a pop single I have heard in a long long time. I'm amazed a high-profile non-Disney pop singer can get away with this.

I have nothing against Katy in general so please don't mistake this for trolling, but this is honestly the WORST vocal performance on a pop single I have heard in a long long time. I'm amazed a high-profile non-Disney pop singer can get away with this. What he said. I can't believe this is taking off so nicely. It has already outdone my expectations! LMAO! That doesn't mean I will enjoy this song any more than I did though. :( |

I actually compared her voice on this track to the voice of Chris Griffin from Family Guy (specifically the way she says "summer" and a few other words).... but anyway, the song's grown on me and now the way she sounds doesn't bother me. I hope it's a big hit. |

Solid start.
Katy is definitely no vocal champion, but I don't actually mind her voice here. I could see how her vocal stylings on this particularly song would be very polarizing, though.

Well, I heard this on the radio the other day, and the vocals weren't nearly as bad as I remembered them being. I guess I just had to get used to them. In the end, I still don't care for the song, but it's better than I originally thought.
