I wouldn't be so quick to credit Clive. Otherwise we would have had an album full of that My LIfe lyrically juvenile dreck.
Cry kills and seems to be the overall fan favorite, without those so-called "professional" writers. It's a power ballad in the same vein as the wildly successful BOY (notoriously rejected by Clive).
I thank God I do not hear much old fart Clive influence on this album. Thanks should go to Weiss for doing what competent label heads are supposed to do - supporting his artist.

Yeah I dont know if Clive had too much say or influence in the album. I think Kelly was in control.

yeah i wouldny say clive ran all things, if he had, there wouldnt be only 1 max/luke song on the album. Obviously kelly held her own. this is her most mature album yet. So much better than MD. the songs here have melody n hooks

The musical part at the very beginning of Already Gone is almost the same as "What It Takes" by Aerosmith. As soon as Kelly starts singing though the similarity in melody ends.

i dont like the cd!!! my life would suck without you is the best uptempo and nothing on the rest of the album sounds like it very misleading. She needed more dr luke and max martin catchy pop songs. I like 4 songs Already Gone, All I Ever Wanted, My Life Would Suck and Save You. The rest is blah.

Jeez, can get enough of this album! After five or six listents, Cry and Already Gone are definitely my favorite songs from this era! The vocals, the lyrics and the melody of Cry are amazing! While the production and they lyrics form Already Gone are breathtaking... They must release those two songs as singles down the road!

'All I Ever Wanted' drops from #5 this am to #8 now on US iTunes :( The leak 18 days before the release date really worries me. Like everything else these days, music sales are sharply down. Why should the average person buy this album now that they can get it for free? I've been hoping the album will debut at #1, and that it will have longevity with strong sales. But in these bad economic times, I worry that the leak almost three weeks early could kill the album's chances.

I think it'll sell more than everyone thinks. Where's the list of writers again? I don't wanna go look through the thread again.

Oh i hope the radio edit of Already Gone wouldnt ruin the whole feel of the song. Its gonna need a shorted radio edit unfortunately. Sober's radio edit was pretty crappy.

Ugh. This album is so good. I think after IDNHU, Cry, Impossible and WYWBMD should be the singles. I like more... heavy production, not so light like MD. And this is definitely the heaviest album (production wise) she's produced. I think this may be her nest yet, for me.
Her albums are just so cohesive, and I like how you can tell the difference btwn MD, BA and this, just by the production. Unlike most pop albums, it's very fluid. I love it. :)

If No One Will Listen is such a beautiful song. And she sings amazingly! Definately one of her best ballads yet.

By the way... Ready really reminds me of 1, 2, 3, 4 by Feist... and the bridge totally brings Sara Bareilles' 'Love Song' to my mind

Does anyone else love the bridge and build up to the final chorus in If I Can't Have You? To me, it's one of the highlights of the album. I just find it so f-ing awesome!

CRY NEEDS TO BE THE THIRD SINGLE. SERIOUSLY.
The truth is, so far I've only heard MLWSWY, I Do Not Hook Up, and Cry, so I don't really have an opinion on the album yet. But "Cry" is just freakin' AMAZING. Probably her best song ever behind "Sober". And to be honest I can actually kinda relate to it too.
