Wow, she's quickly falling out of the Top 10 on iTunes? What's up with that? She's been #6 since yesterday, hardly "quickly falling out of the top 10" . Either way the change in position is due to new releases and the Grammys.

This thread feels like the "Downfalls of the Billboard Hot 100 Thread" for the past few pages. I'm so sick of it. It's even more frustrating when you ask The NLP to stop the discussion, and the 18 year old calls us "naive and chlidish" (as he spelled it) for refusing to continue his discussion. Over imposing your opinion when others have already "agreed to disagree" on previous posts is a sign of your immaturity, and definitely not American. I thought our Foreign posters should know that in the States, we do respect everyone's opinions and beliefs, no matter how different they may be from our very own. Thus, the American origin of the "agree to disagree" phrase that signals irreconcilable differences and the necessary need to dismiss an argument for the sake of parties involved. In our case, for the sake of our regular posters to continue enjoying the board and to continue posting relevant airplay/sales updates that are otherwise unavailable for the rest. I'm done venting. I'm gonna go enjoy a real "My Life Would Suck Without You" thread for while. YOU have agreed to disagree. Others are still discussing it with me, and we are talking about other concepts that deal with the songs chart position. I said you were naive and childish, which are both spelled correctly, to assume that you requests for me to discontinue my posts, for the simple fact that you don't agree with them. You contradict yourself in saying that you are accepting of other people's opinion with your condescending tone toward mine. Not that I care. If you don't like my posts, which you obviously don't, ignore them.

It's going to hang around in the top 10 for a while, and may go top 5 in Airplay, and not to be too pessimistic, but #1 is unlikely without Urban airplay, and that's no fault of this song... Well, finally something you and I can agree on. (As the old saying goes, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.) Urban airplay is the issue. When even a huge market like Los Angeles (where I live) has only one Top 40 radio station playing current hits, and when there is a ratio of at least 10 R&B/hip-hop songs to 1 pop song being played on that station, the odds are stacked against pop songs making it to #1 in radio airplay on the Mediabase Mainstream Top 40 chart. They can, obviously, but a lot of things need to be going a Pop song's way to help boost it to #1 on Top 40 airplay. MLWS is probably going to make it to #1 on the Mediabase Hot AC chart. It will make it to #8 on Top 40 tomorrow, but I don't know if it can hang on long enough to make it much higher given the log-jam in the 1–7 spots. In addition, there's every likelihood MLWS will comfortably sell over 1 million copies, plus it had its 2 weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot 100. So whether or not this song peaks at #8 on Top 40, it has already done its job, which was to set the stage for a successful release of her 4th album, now due in less than a month. Absolutely, I think the public is very interested in her album now. I'm actually feeling it may sell 2 million, or very close if sales are steady. She did get to #17 on H100 Airplay in 4 weeks, that's nothing to cry about

im sad her single drops to no.4.. i thougth it will drop to no.2 only. Positions 2-4 were relatively close but she did well considering Heartless and Just Dance are getting multi-format play.

There are no "Grammy" songs ahead of her on Itunes. How is that affecting her sales?

Chasing Pavements is, Adele won Best New Artists, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, I believe, maybe more, however is sliding, #7 at the time of my post Dead and Gone was performed on the Grammies. #3 MLWSWY is #6 right now they're kinda flipping around

I said this song had a burnout a few pages ago, and the Stans came at me in full force.
I really enjoyed it at first listen, but the more I hear it on the radio, the more it loses it's catchiness, and the awful lyrics are sticking out like a sore thumb.
I think it might run an old school Britney route where it had monsterous bullets for the first few weeks, then just die suddenly.

I said this song had a burnout a few pages ago, and the **people who like someone I don't so I resort to namecalling because it makes me feel superior** came at me in full force. I think it might run an old school Britney route where it had monsterous bullets for the first few weeks, then just die suddenly. too late for that. If this song was destined to die, it wouldn't have even made the top 10. Clearly they are getting good callout numbers, or the label is pushing it, either way, this is a top 5 sure shot. Huge hit no matter how you look at it, it is top 10 HOTAC as well. This isn't anywhere near my favorite Kelly Clarkson song, but I have to admit it's grown on me. For a while I didn't even like it that much. I hope there are better songs on there having said all that.

10 8 KELLY CLARKSON My Life Would Suck W... 5921 5240 681 37.393 +88 Spins -44 Bullet +0.192 Audience Thanks for the morning update. Whooohooo, #8 baby. We're going to finally see some movement at the top of this chart as early as tomorrow. There are only 97 spins separating the top three songs now, so it will be interesting to see who comes out at #1. 'Gives You Hell' should pass 'Sober' and take the #6 spot tomorrow. The question for MLWS now is can it hold onto its strong bullet long enough to wait for Sober to peak. Today there are 1953 spins separating them. So this is the point to hope for some longevity for MLWS since it can't climb any higher for now.

I have to agree, I LOVED this at first, but it burned after not that many listens. It went from being one of my favorite Kelly songs, to way down the list, even behind Never Again and Sober. I have high hopes for the next single though.

This is already NOT a "huge bullet for a week or two and then collapse" song. It has already shown more longevity and a MUCH MUCH higher peak then those types of songs. Those songs rarely, if ever, break 6000 spins or even 4000 spins. Now, it may turn out to be a smaller radio hit than we would have wanted and peak before hitting top 5 or top 3, but it would still be a hit hitting top 10 at two different formats, selling tons, hitting #1 on the billboard hot 100, and promoting the record.

From A KCE member who works in radio: Here is the next round of Rate the Music.com reports. KELLY IS THE #1 TESTING SONG IN TOP 40!!!! Top 10 HOT AC! For those that don't know, this chart measures what the AUDIENCE thinks of the song. You can take the survey through various radio station websites or at ratethemusic.com. A score of 4.00 is VERY good. Anything above that is great. "Pop" is the average Popularity score of the song. "Fam" is the Familiarity percentage of the song. "Burn" is the Burn (Tired Of) percentage of the song. Here's how to read the chart - There are two, Top 40 audience and Hot AC. There are numbers for ages 12+, persons 18-34, 18-24, 25-54 and Teens. You want your POP numbers to be high and your Burn numbers to be low. Once a burn on a song is over 40, that means the audience is pretty much sick of the song. This chart is HUGELY influential to radio programmers as to how much they will play songs. And therefore, very influential on the Mediabase airplay charts. If you want a predictor to how the coming week will be for Kelly on Mediabase, this chart is the one you look for. Analysis: Kelly is in GREAT shape. Low burn, high familiarity.

10 8 KELLY CLARKSON My Life Would Suck W... 6040 5362 678 38.114 +119 Spins -3 Bullet +0.721 Audience Whooohoooo...nice spin increase. Hang onto that strong bullet, girl! For now, it's all about longevity in Top 40 airplay. Sober is finally slowing down, and the gap between it and MLWS is getting smaller. Yesterday, 1953 spins separated them. Today it's 1847 spins. The bad news is that, at the current rate of its spin gains vs. losses for 'Sober' it would take MLWS 17 days to move into the #7 spot. The good news is that MLWS currently has the second biggest bullet in the top 10. Also, as yesterday's analysis showed would happen, we have a new #1 song. Congratulations to Taylor Swift. She should sit there for awhile, as 'Just Dance' and 'Single Ladies' are falling sharply now. Although 'Circus' has been slowing, it should move into the #3 spot sometime next week. 'Gives You Hell' should move into the #5 spot tomorrow. As all this movement starts to happen, and if 'Sober' and 'Heartless' peak soon, an eventual top 5 spot is not out of the question for MLWS.
