The country knew her for her sexy hair. Might sound weird, but her hair made her that Idol "glamour girl" that they've never had. I wonder if NBC told her she had to go back. I hope it goes back to dark, dark.
Hooray for a supporting role in a tv show, though!! That's wonderful for her!! (Too bad it's on NBC...)

But for the record, our own I.B. Bad broke the news in his column posted Jan. 15. Wrote I.B.: “In what retail watchers are likening to the old days of brick-and-mortar, Apple appears to be playing hardball with labels that attempt to place exclusives on high-profile acts with Amazon MP3. Last week, the iTunes Store pulled the marketing on Katharine McPhee after Amazon put her new Verve release on sale for $3.99, the sudden disappearing act causing the album, which had been Top 10 at iTunes before the yank, to plummet.

I didn't know that's what happened with Kat's CD. That's sad.

I think it's awful when artists get caught up in politics like that; it seems with the album in Top 10, it would have been smarter for Apple not to pull the promo.

I didn't know that's what happened with Kat's CD. That's sad.

I didn't know her album was on sale at Amazon, but I did know that it was $7.99 at iTunes. It was around #20 or so (on POP albums... not overall top albums, like the article might make one believe), and the next day or so I checked and it was #90-ish.
I hope she can get on Idol this season. There seem to be tiny glimmers of hope for some album success...

The article is referring to last week, I think. When iTunes had all Idol alum albums on sale.

For someone with such awful album sales and no radio presence, she sure does have a lot of promo. I've never understood that. At least now, no one can blame a lack of promo for Kat's record sales

Well the record has had excellent promotion but 'Had It All' either hasn't been backed that well on radio or people don't like the song. It's still charting Top 30 on AC radio but I think they need a stronger single out

The promo is good but will do nothing without some sort of hype or a hit. "Terrified" has potential to do some damage on Hot AC and AC and with the added Idol exposure (thanks to Didi and Kara) who knows how well it could do digitally and perhaps on Pop. It is essentially Colbie-esque Pop which could catch on with some proper backing.

I will say that she's definitely worked on her falsetto over the past couple of years. It used to be really shaky and almost uncontrollable. Now she can sing nearly a whole song in it.

I actually think its a smart move. She's been on SO many shows and if she only performed the same song, people would lose interest. Plus, its a great way to test singles!
