Most of these are from the past few years. I think most has to do with the addition of new stations in the past few years and the incredible increase in spin counts of songs in the Top 25 and especially the Top 10.

I think the numbers are off. I know that this is what Quick Cut reports as the spins for CHR, but when you add up the spin totals for each format, it doesn't add up to the total spins. I think total spins are right, but the individual format counts are wrong. For example, with Say It Right: AC: 12711 HAC: 124747 CHR: 211341 URB: 879 UAC: 350 RHY: 49348 Total: 641700 So either it's wrong, or 242,324 spins went missing .

What are these numbers based on and how long has this data been tracked?

That spin total from the Quick Cut is mysterious. Not gonna say it's wrong because I don't know how Mediabase comes up with that number, but it's almost always different from the sum of the formats we can see. And this list was probably compiled manually, since it misses for example "Unwritten", which has 159,310 spins according to its Quick Cut info.

Also it's crazy that WBT lasted at #1 for 11 weeks and not even make this Top 50 chart. I'm pretty sure Quick Cut Info uses only a certain amount of weeks that the song has charted to calculate the spins

Something seems off about this list, what exactly is it counting again? I guess spins to date...prob. with these lists are that spin numbers vary so much depending on year Also yeah list seems really rhythmic - can't believe Temperature by Sean Paul for example got more spins than She Will Be Loved by M5 - or even that Leavin' is the sixth must played song of all time...somethin def. seems wrong with methodology IMO Also, how could Hot N Cold or So What possibly have had enough time to amass more spins than big hits from the earlier 2000s...maybe it's just a cut of what CHRs are playin right now (including recurrents) Actually betcha it's a list of the most popular recurrent/gold songs right now

this list in incorrect as mediabase screws up with some songs total, like for example Behind These Hazel Eyes and We Belong Together were among the most successful songs on pop radio EVER yet havent even made this list!

The entire Top 10 is all rhythmic with the exception of 8 & 10. 6 & 7 certainly aren't rhythmic. As for this list as a whole, it would be nice if Joel told us exactly what it's measuring and what time frame.

These are the total POP spins to date from Mediabase, of course it's not going to be perfect (hello mediabase).

This list might just be legit. According to Mediabase quick cut info (to date) Hips Don't Lie has had 124,888 spins on Pop and We Belong Together has had 118,792 spins so they would have just missed the cut. lol

Yup. Remember the format has changed soooo much the last few years and stations have been spinning one song more and more.

These are the total POP spins to date from Mediabase, of course it's not going to be perfect (hello mediabase). According to this list Makes Me Wonder was a much bigger hit for Maroon 5 than She Will Be Loved...also Since U Been Gone is #8 but no other Kelly Clarkson song is anywhere in the Top 50...kinda confused

When I added up the spins for "Say it Right" it was only 399,376 not 641,700. Notwithstanding that miscalculation, where are those spins registered?

Think about it... each of them had 10,000 spins per week at its peak, which was more than 2 years ago. If you assume its "average" chart week was 4,000 spins, and they were each on the chart for 25 or so weeks... that's 100,000 spins right there. Then all the recurrent airplay.

Total spins on Mediabase QuickCut is not accurate. I don't know how they calculate it, but it's incorrect.
