He was right at about 13,000 this week if that helps anyone make any guesses for next week.

He's #4 on Amazon. Sales should increase big time next week -- maybe near 20K. I'm thinking the Oprah effect would be more than that for sure.

Album up 533% on Amazon.com lmao! I wonder if the stores are seeing more of an increase as I would think Oprah's audience would be more inclined to buy the CD offline?

Coming from the big Rob Thomas fan on these boards but I was looking for something on youtube today and found this old video of Push. This is the song that started Rob on his way 14 years ago. Check out the nail polish, eyeliner, chains, black leather, etc. This is the kind of rocky, edgy, direction I was expecting from Adam. Dance/pop edgy or pop/rock edgy...which would have worked better at the beginning of Adam's career to establish him beyond AI? Check out this classic video from a new and unheard of artist at that time. The video got people talking about the band. Album went on to become a Diamond selling album. This is what is referred to as an impact video. Much like Lady Gaga's videos right now. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAkHqYlqops&feature=channel Probably a better place to post then than the pop section. Which direction would have worked better for Adam? What were his fans expecting? I know there's some rockier songs on the album but is it too late now to try to show Adam the "rocker?" First impressions mean a lot and tell people what your music is all about.

Why is Adam at the SAG awards tonight? He is pictured on Wireimage under arrivals or red carpet pix, etc.
Is he presenting?

Adam is at the Screen Actors Guild Awards tonight, I'm not sure why. That's not a criticism of him being overexposed or anything, just genuine puzzlement.
I like "Push", but I could imagine 2-3 other guys from Idol singing a song like that before Adam. There were videos of him from before he was on Idol, singing a lot of different genres, but none of them were like that. I don't think I have ever seen a new singer whose fans are trying to pull him in so many different musical directions. Nothing he could have done would have come close to making everyone happy.

Maybe he's a member of SAG? Who knows. He said on the red carpet that he just got done with a modeling gig for Flaunt magazine. That should be good :) Here's Adam being interviewed on the red carpet tonight at the SAG Awards. Brad Bessey of ET just tweeted that Adam made a BIG announcement on the red carpet, and that he'll break it on ET as soon as he gets the OK to do so. We'll see. ETA-I really like the title of this blog from the LA Times: SAG Awards Red Carpet: Drew Barrymore's Dress is Pretty, but Adam Lambert's Makeup is PrettierHere's the pic they used: Cute! He looks really good!

Yeah, I kind of miss young Rob, too. I guess I'm growing old with him and his music. Hopefully, the new Matchbox album will be a little more edgy. I just posted the video because Adam really popped into my mind when I was watching that old video. I haven't watched it in several years. Anyway, I could see Adam doing something like that video - not necessarily a song like Push. Adam has a lot more range to his voice than Rob but I like Rob's tone better. Nice interview with Adam. I'm sure he will see a lot of the world in the next 12-24 months. I look for him to do very well overseas.

mjsbigblog.com/randy-jackson-the-girls-made-better-records-because-they-know-who-they-are.htm#more-15727In this link, Randy Jackson is interviewed by Jim Cantiello from MTV. He says the girl winners have made better records than the guys (agreed) and when Jim says that he loves the albums by Kris/Allison/Adam, Randy hesitates and speaks on how "confused" Adam seems and how he can't play all these characters (Gaga, Darkness, Muse, Pink etc). But didn't they show him so much love on Idol when he sang Michael Jackson, Queen, Led Zepplin, Smokey Robinson, Sam Cooke, Aersomith, Tears for Fears, Muse etc? Does Kelly stick to one thing? She's done so many different styles. Have Kris and/or Allison gone off the route they took on Idol? It sounded like Randy basically took the opportunity to praise Carrie to the heavens and bash Adam. I'd like a Simon, Shania, Paula panel please.

Yeah Jim Cantielo tweeted after that interview basically saying that he was really, really upset with Randy for bashing Adam and Kris in that interview, that Randy absolutely would not let Jim get a word in edgewise, and that he was only saying all that stuff to set the stage for the "a girl will win" storyline they're desperately trying to make happen on S9. No better way to do that than to totally bash the 2 boys from last season.
You know what's even funnier about the whole thing? Randy tweeted Adam in October praising his album and saying how wonderful it was.
From Randy, to Adam:

I agree with Randy. I think Adam did try too many styles. I think what works best for him is the pop/rock route. You can't blame the guy for having an opinion opposite yours. As for the tweet, I'm sure he would do that to any idol contestant.

Then Randy is a two faced a**hole. The kind that will be nice to your face, but have no problem stabbing you in the back when it suits him (aka A New Season of Idol To Promote). I was glad to see that when Randy tried to say the same stuff on Regis and Kelly, that Kelly vehemently stood up for Adam and defended him.
In better news, the word on the street is that Adam is somehow involved with Fashion Week. He'll be in NYC during Fashion Week for the Kradison concert, and Jim Cantielo has said that "An Idol will be involved in Fashion Week." Adam is friends with Christian Siriano and his boyfriend Brad Walsh (Brad did some official FYE remixes for Adam), so there's speculation that he might be doing something for Christian. Whatever it is, we'll find out about it on Monday on ET, as promised by Brad Bessey (producer of ET).

He disagrees with Adam's musical undertaking, but he said he likes the album. I think you're being blinded by fandom. I don't think he came off rude towards Adam at all. Jim, sure. Adam? No.
