Her fans have been clamoring for YEARS for a Turn Off The Light volume 3, and she had even teased in 2020 that it was coming, if I recall correctly. But we get this instead, 12 half-baked, interlude-length “songs” which I doubt anyone asked for.
Cool, thanks Kim.

She is so goofy, so, for that reason, I do not take her seriously whatsoever. I will say I love a few songs of hers like Icy, King of Hearts, and Unholy, but the rest of her stuff seems like cheap, disposable, and trashy fun. Aw see I feel the opposite. It’s trashy and fun, but her earlier music wasn’t disposable to me. I liked her since I discovered her song Faded. There was just quality alongside the party. Her neon era, turn off the light, and clarity were just so good. Fun and trashy yes haha as previously stated. Everything after (except Problematique) has been cheap and disposable. I also liked that she was trans and not just going for cheap sex sex sex, but these two ruined that.

We have to remember this is a business and we’ve seen much more talented peers come and go from labels. As a trans woman, I truly wonder how much say she gets in any of this. As a “pop star”, we have better ones. She went all in on the pop star route, and while I think the world deserves a great trans pop star, I’m not sure that will ever be Kim. She has broken down a lot of doors though and history will credit her for that.
I’m sure “bimbo pop” songs about rim jobs wasn’t her ideal lane coming into the business, but for a quick throw away album, it still has appeal to her base of people that will buy tickets to a tour. Again, this being a business, and if she’s not successful, we will have nobody coming to replace her shoes on an high level anytime soon. Some representation is better than none.
Overall, I’m glad she has a voice and a lane, even if it’s not the voice or lane she wanted. It’s unfortunate the industry shut the doors on other trans artists, and it’s extremely unfortunate that there are some sonically similar sounds — but LGBTQ+ communities have a long history in celebrating raunchy “bimbo pop” and it’s certainly not a new sound.
Is Kim somewhat problematique? I suppose. But is she any more than Doja, Ariana, Kanye or dozens of others that will get a pass and actually have POWER over their careers? I’m not saying Kim deserves a pass, but I don’t find her responsible fully for the decisions she is doing to survive.

I love the new Slut Pop Miami album. It is so well produced. I enjoyed each and every one of the songs.
"Butt Slutt" and "Rim Job" need to be singles ASAP.

The album is hilarious and unserious and full of mf bops. This is straight up for the gays, and I liiiive for how unapologetic she is about it! The lyrics are certainly not for your mawmaw or your pastor, but who wants to listen to what they listen to anyway?

She makes it so hard to root for her between this, the first Slut Pop, and her support for Dr. Luke...
