I can't believe people are hating on Pinkerton. The Good Life is their most underrated single. Still sounds fresh many years later.
Without Pinkerton, 90% of the so-called emo bands around today don't exist. (Maybe that's why people are hating on it?) It's Weezer's most influential album by far.
Musically, I like Make Believe best, but for it's time, Pinkerton was pretty amazing.
Now, I'm going to go and say something blasphemous: Outside of "My Name Is Jonas" and "Say It Ain't So" (both epic songs), Blue was a pretty average album. I never got the Undone and Buddy Holly hype, and I'm not saying that just because they're so overplayed today. I mean in the mid-90's when I first heard them, I thought they were OK songs. Not bad, but just hearing those two songs, I never would have thought Weezer would become the phenomenon they became.
1. Make Believe 2. Pinkerton 3. Green 4. Blue 5. Red
I'm not ranking Maladroit because I haven't listened to it much... I can't remember any songs off it other than the mediocre Dope Nose and pretty decent Keep Fishin'.
Interesting that I'm the only one who ranked both Pinkerton and Make Believe high. They are kind of the polar opposites of the Weezer albums.

I love the Blue Album...I'd probably rank it at the top but I like all the albums. "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here" is still to this day my favorite Weezer song. It took me a while to get into Pinkerton but that's more because even when I bought the CD I would only listen to El Scorcho over and over and at that same time for some reason I was really into albums with female singers......No Doubt, Cranberries, Garbage and Tracy Bonham to name a few. But once I finally did go through the whole album I found more I liked from it.

Eh, I was kind of hoping they'd wait another year or so.

I really don't have the slightest idea what to expect from Rivers anymore, I am very intrigued though and wouldn't be shocked if the first release heads straight to #1. I can't really foresee anything getting in its way that would be new as well besides maybe My Chemical Romance releasing something.
I would assume that the first single will be out by mid-September.

Oh and one more thing, I have heard on the radio and believe I read in a magazine that it is going to be the "Orange" album and have something to do with Halloween...I don't know how much I believe it though.

It would be cool if the it was a concept album about Halloween. Oh, and, is it sure this album will be self-titled? Or are you people just assuming that? ???

Topic title change.
The first single is titled "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To" Going to be released August 25th.
Sooner than I thought.

And now that we have a title and a not-too-distant date, I am officially hyped.

I think that title may not be long enough ;) I barely had enough room to change the title of the thread.

Let's just refer to it as (IYWIIWT) IWT. Yeah. That's easier.

It just leaked:
Well, it's ok. I expected a bit more. Don't like it nearly as much as I liked "Pork And Beans" after the first listen, though.

Fuck. I'm in love with this after listen #1. Way more immediate for me than both "Pork and Beans" (took several listens) and "Beverly Hills" (took a few listens). Don't even know why, but I'm, like, awestruck.

I'm satisfied with this and can't say I'm disappointed. I think it's extremely catchy. Not as good as "Pork And Beans" but ten times better than "Beverly Hills" as a lead single.

Wow I am BLOWN AWAY by this. It hit me ten times better on first listen than Pork and Beans did. I could see this being a smash. I really like this.

Have to agree, considering parenthetical titles are not really ever referred to by DJ's on any consistent basis. There are a few songs that the parenthetical titles are more well known than the actual title I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) - Proclaimers December '63 (Oh What a Night) - 4 Seasons to name a couple....doubt this one will ever be known in the future as that long ass title, lol

oh and I do really like this song, it is far more immediate than Pork and Beans (which was not close to my favorite on the album). I'm also a big lover of Beverly Hills, this rivals it for me.

The album will be called Raditude. And now Creed and Flyleaf have joined Weezer on October 27th. Interesting.
