I just gave the album a first listen. Overall, at this point I think I may like it better than "Make Believe" & "The Red Album" since it has some kickass songs and a great variety.
First off with the bad. "Can't Stop Partying" with a collaboration with Jermaine Dupri is HORRIBLE! The cover of "Love Is The Answer" has an interesting Indian/Egyptian beat but is decent. "In The Mall" is a pretty pointless song about being in a mall.
"The Girl Got Hot" & "Tripping Down The Freeway" seemed decent, but nothing really special about them.
"Let It All Hang Out," "Turn Me Round," "I'm Your Daddy" are pretty good and "I Don't Want To Let You Go" is a nice ballad. All could be possible good choices for singles.
However, my favorite song on the album by far is "Put Me Back Together." That song just spoke to me 100% and that MUST be a single at some point during the album's tenure.
EDIT: Oh yeah and the bonus tracks. "Get Me Some" is a great song. Sucks that it didn't officially make the album. "Run Over By A Truck" is very different sounding, has innovative lyrics, and could definitely by a single if it made the album too. "The Prettiest Girl In The Whole Wide World" is catchy, but the whole point of the song is kind of lame. "The Underdogs" is boring and is putting me to sleep but then again I'm exhausted anyway.

This comment - my exact opinion. down to the punctuation. very well said my friend.

I haven't given the album anything more than a onceover so far, but I don't remember anything too terrible about "Can't Stop Partying". It was produced by Dupri, by the way. The guest star is Lil Wayne.
And "Love Is The Answer" is not technically a cover. The Sugar Ray song is rather a cover of the Weezer song, since it was originally a Weezer write off featured on Cuomo's Alone II Home Demos. It's like SR-71 and Bowling For Soup.

I think Sugar Ray's Love is the Answer is ten times better. This one is just. Too weird for me. And Can't Stop Partying is awful.

Can't Stop Partying is an excellent joke song ... which is better than most of what Weezer has been doing recently.

Amazon has the MP3 album download up for $5.
I'm debating whether to get it.

Why not get it for free first and then decide if it's worth the five dollars to keep?

I'm on a college campus and people get busted for illegal downloading all the time here.

I love infringing on copyrights. I infringe all the time. I'm infringing right now, in fact.

I downloaded it and so far I'm glad I did. I hear a lot of songs that could be CHR singles.

Shame it didn't hit #1 for a week or two then. Ala "Panic Switch", which spent what 11/12 weeks at #2.

At least Panic Switch managed a week at #1 on BDS Radio/Billboard, whereas this did not.

I'd take 14 weeks at #2 than 1 week at number 1 and a quick drop any day
