I think Weezer will beat Creed.
I wonder if Train can beat Flyleaf.

I think Weezer will beat Creed. Not gonna happen man. The Red Album was Weezer's worst sales wise, and actually debuted at #4. Creed is just too big for Weezer to beat them, look at their album's US certifications. My Own Prison: 6x Platinum Human Clay: 11x Platinum Weathered: 6x Platinum Greatest Hits: 2x Platinum Creed is gonna blow Weezer away, although Id love if Weezer can get to #2 that week, that would be cool

I kind of think that Flyleaf will outsell Weezer and not just Creed. Flyleaf's first one did really well. Train will likely be insignificant. Who remembers that "Cab" album, for instance?

My first week sales prediction for the new Weezer, Creed and Flyleaf records:
Creed - 269k; Fyleaf - 120k; Weezer - 81k.

You guys are assuming that people still remember Flyleaf. They haven't had a single for quite a long while and their album came out four years ago.

I think, if new Wilco can bring in nearly 100k, new Weezer can do about the same. Not the same type of music, but they both have quirky frontmen and a lot of lyrical appeal, and I think both bands have similar fan base size and devotion.
This could just be wishful thinking, though. And I guess it'll also depend on how well "I Want You To" takes off, but I don't see any reason it shouldn't be a reasonably big Alt hit. Not sure about crossover potential. I can't even remember now, did they send anything off the red album to other formats?

I thought for sure "Pork and Beans" was going to Pop, but I don't think they sent it.

I'm hoping Flyleaf doesn't outperform Weezer.

I don't think Flyleaf is even thought about that much anymore. I can see them selling 40-50K at most

Yeah, but you say it like all its success came in 2005. Not really. It was more successful in 2006-7, arguably even the year after. We'll see how the first single from this new one does. And the Red Album just didn't perform very well, considering how well two of its singles did on the format.

Alternative:
-- 40 WEEZER I Want To DGC/Interscope 2009 288 0 288
(Pretty sure the title is wrong on Mediabase.)

I just finally figured out what you did there. Was it about "Settle Down"? Uh, no. I was referring to the fact that all these big bands got shifted to Cartel's release date and they probably thought "OH NO! We're gonna get cheesed." Which is like getting creamed except it goes on for longer.

Biggest meaning one of their most well known among their fan base I guess. It wasn't a single yet it's number 3 on their iTunes.

Is it a problem that I remember "Say Anything (Else)" more than "Honestly"?
