Honestly barely scratched the Hot 100. Say Anything is probably more memorable in that it was on the Madden soundtrack. Either way, they were strictly a pop band in my view.

I never heard "Say Anything (Else)" on the radio, but I liked it much more than "Honestly."

That's going to be annoying if Mediabase keeps omitting the "You" in the title like that. Especially since it completely reverses the meaning of the song.

I just noticed that earlier today. It is quite annoying.

Ah. I don't know if it really matters. They could probably have it as "Bin Laden Love" and everyday people wouldn't know. They're just abbreviating anyway. As long as we chart enthusiasts know what it is, it should been fine.

You think they're intentionally abbreviating a title composed of four short words, yet chose to spell out the entirety of "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight?" I'm gonna go with the Mediabase error theory.

Like it a lot! Top 3 for sure, this has the potential to outperform Pork and Beans...
Anybody else reminded of Town Called Malice by The Jam?

I was probably one of the few who actually appreciated the Red Album. It seems many didn't really like it much but honestly this song, had it been on Red, would have been my second favorite which makes me a little excited to hear this album. Weezer has never disappointed me especially when I look back at the whole of their body of work to date.

The Red Album was an album that I felt had a bunch of really good songs, and yet collectively as a whole was not more than the sum of the parts.

The Red Album was an album that I felt had a bunch of really good songs, and yet collectively as a whole was not more than the sum of the parts. I can agree with that but the songs were so good I didn't really need the album to feel like a cohesive. I've never been overly worried about how an album sounds as a whole. I'm really more of a song by song kinda listener. Sometimes an album sticks out as a whole but for the most part I don't care that much. Weezer is a band that I like so much I give them free passes on everything they do. I have about 4 or 5 bands in that category.

Well you are a hardass, so that's not surprising, lol...but I have a couple bands that they've just done so much over the years that I'll listen to new stuff no matter what. It may not go down as the best but they get the freebies. Pretty much Weezer, Pearl Jam, The Tragically Hip, Offspring and OLP get that honor.

Well if you are wondering if I want you to stop being a hardass, I want you to. ;)
Anyways, this song gets better with each listen, I'm afraid I'm gonna burn myself out on it though so time to go back to searching out a couple of incredibly hard to find songs right now. F'n Canadian bands don't make it easy on me sometimes.

I agree that the red Weezer has quite a few solid songs, but I also agree that it's just not as consistent or cohesive as some of their other efforts. "I Want You To" has got me Weezer hyped, so I've been re-listening to their catalogue lately and updating my grades appropriately, and my basic conclusion on everything except Pinkerton, which hasn't gotten a new listen yet:
1. Maladroit - A 2. blue Weezer - A 3. Make Believe - A- 4. red Weezer - B+ 5. green Weezer - B
If Pinkerton is as I remember it, it'll be #4.
So, yeah, I'm not exactly unkind to any of their work, and there's certainly nothing I come close to disliking, but certain of their albums do just have a certain spark that puts them a cut above the rest.
Anyway, I remain hopeful that Raditude takes us back to A-level material.

This is their best lead single since "Dope Nose." I think it's great. I'm not getting my hopes up for the new album, Pinkerton is one of my favorite albums of all time, and their albums have gone steadily downhill since then. Here's to Weezer proving me wrong!

really? I see Dope Nose as their weakest lead single ever lol
Hash Pipe > Pork And Beans > El Scorcho > I Want You To > Beverly Hills > Undone > Dope Nose

Hmm. Seeing that list, I think I like non-lead Weezer singles more than the leads.
1. El Scorcho (and that's probably not in my top 3-4 overall) 2. Undone 3. Hash Pipe 4. Pork and Beans 5. Beverly Hills 6. I Want You To (for now, with room for improvement) 7. Dope Nose

Maladroit was one of their weakest albums but I think Dope Nose is great.
I'd rank like this...
El Scorcho Undone Dope Nose I Want You To Pork and Beans Hash Pipe Beverly Hills
Though the first 5 songs I would give an A, so it doesn't really matter the order to me. Hash Pipe gets a B, and Beverly Hills get's a D-.
As far as albums go, Pink is my favorite, followed by Blue then Green. Maladroit is ok, but I absolutely hated Make Believe.

For the most part, my favorite singles from any given album aren't the lead ones either.
1. Dope Nose - A 2. El Scorcho 3. I Want You To ... but it could go up or down. Definitely still in the stages of initial hype, so who knows where it'll end up? 4. Pork and Beans - A- 5. Undone - The Sweater Song 6. Beverly Hills - B+ 7. Hash Pipe - B

And as with a few others on here none of these are in my top 5 favorite songs(not just singles) but I'm a big fan so my top 20 would still all be songs I really liked.
