I wonder if RCA will really Cry in the US? IMHO it would be risky to release to ballads back-to-back as singles.

can anyone give me a link to the best version of her alanis/kings of leon cover? I love this one, but maybe it was because I was there. ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif)

Smash in the Philippines?... CRY?! LOL. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0270.gif) I'll take it. Great to hear!! And all this talk about "dance funk"... I'm guessing she pulls out some Franz Ferdinand meets Maroon 5. FF is one of my fav bands, and AIEW is the track that sounds closest to them out of what she's done (which I guess is why it's my fav track on the album ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif) ). Maybe she's gonna put more brass on it too. After all, it sounds great on this tour.

I will admit Dance/funk worries me, but then I remember how worried I was when she said Breakaway was gonna be rock :)

I remember her stating that IICHY was her favorite song she did with Ryan Tedder and that one is definitely the danciest song she's ever done so I can see her wanting to maybe venture into this genre a little more. ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif) Can't wait to hear a sample for what's in store for us. If it's anything like the last era though, leaks will be very hard/practically impossible to come by.

Re Dance/Funk, I remember when she described "Yeah" as a Sly & the Family Stone type track, which it would have been if it had been a little less disjointed (I like the song, but it's one of the two songs on My December - the other being Can I Have A Kiss, which I love anyway - that could have used more work). So, maybe that, too, is partly what Kelly has in mind.
I also saw comments on the Express that DLMSY is getting airplay in New Zealand. Don't forget, Already Gone peaked a while ago in Asia and Australia, so stations there may be picking up the slack of moving on to a new Kelly song without direction from the label.

I have a friend from the US while I'm abroad... she's from Cali and the definition of a casual listener. One night I drunkenly went on and on about my love for Kelly, and turns out she has the album. DLMSY is her fav, and it seems to be the fav among other casual listeners on this board. Where it would not be my choice, nor Kelly's probably, I'm actually starting to think it would do well on the radio. Would have done great as the 2nd single because it's rock-ish like IDNHU but doesn't have the silly theme/lyrics.

From nightsoarer on KCE: She's working on new material and is currently writing for the new record, including working with the DJ she has on tour with her but I don't think anything has actually been recorded. I met her at the Fresno show and asked her about the status of the new album and she told me that she's currently writing new material while she's touring and working with different people. She said right now its got a dance-funk sound to it, while also saying that its very different from the rest of her albums. OMG, I have wanted Kelly to record a dance/funk album FORVER! I am seriously stoked to hear what she comes up with on the new record. I can't wait!

Let's not forget that Kelly said at the AMAs that the new record would be pop/rock and electronic. That was only two weeks ago. My guess is that no one way she describes it is going to capture the sound of the whole record, if there's even a whole record's worth of material yet.
Kelly was really sounding and looking great last night in Beaumont:
Good to see she's finishing the fall tour in top form. Then we will all have Kelly withdrawal, because as of now she has no scheduled appearances anywhere between December 14 and the start of the world tour in February.

I'm assuming Kelly goes back home to her family over the holidays, and maybe the studio, but hopefully, we'll get a new single in January, promo appearances on Idol (the season starts January 12) and maybe elsewhere, and at the Grammys on January 31 before she heads overseas. The fact that she'll be out of the country most of the time from early February to late April suggests to me that if there's going to be a 4th single, January will be the only time to promote it in the US.

Wow- surprised about the new direction- I for sure thought she would go for a country or accoustic vibe the next album (like some of her demos)

^Not surprised someone is not able to sing KC songs and "steal" them from her.
Seriously, has anyone ever heard a cover of a Kelly Clarkson song that sounds better than the original?

Can you guys believe this is the first time I've ever heard Can We Go Back. I remember about reading about it and never got a chance to look for it and then forgot about it until someone posted about this Koda person covering it. It's fantastic. I can't believe I missed it.

It's not a cover, but the original Aranda version of Whyawannabringmedown is at least even with Kelly's version. That's the closest I can come. (Their original version of AIEW is good too, but not as good as Kelly's). The only song I've heard her do that I really strongly preferred another version of was O Holy Night, but I didn't like the Carrie, Mariah or Harry Connick versions either - that song just doesn't work without a full choir. It's too big for a single vocalist to handle, even one with the range of Kelly or of Mariah in her prime. It'll be interesting to see if Kelly is able to let go enough to sell some of her own songs to other artists (she's said she keeps pulling them back for her own use). I mean, how intimidated would you be listening to a Kelly demo?

ugh - what a sad realization about her schedule. We definitely NEED a 4th single or grammy appearance now. No promo or concerts for three months plus news definitely slows down when she is touring abroad as well. : ( (thats me pouting)

Thank you Focus! Loves it! The chorus is awesome and I love, love the "we got a find a way to fool reality." I don't know why but I do. It's so awesome. I can't believe the bonus tracks didn't make the final cut.
