OMG- both of Kelly's albums #8 and #11 in the top albums of the decade and a #8 song of the decade. *jaw on floor*

What's funny is, the Express coordinated a campaign to vote for Breakaway, but obviously the rest of the voters went for AIEW.
Her performance on the artist list is less impressive, since that was multiple choice. But reflective of Rolling Stone's readership.
There has to have been a coordinated effort for Green Day to sweep all three categories.

I like All I Ever Wanted more than Breakaway! So do I..lol. There are a few songs on Breakaway that I don't listen to. I love/like all of the songs on AIEW and don't skip any of them. Same with MD. I don't skip any of those either.

TIME magazine Top 10 songs of 20091. "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly ClarksonThis monster hit, created by pop Frankensteins Max Martin and Dr. Luke, has rhythm and melody lines ripped indiscriminately from all their other hits and lyrical inspiration courtesy of a high schooler's Facebook wall. ("I know that I've got issues/ But you're pretty messed up too.") Where a lesser singer might have tried to animate the parts with a vocal lightning storm, Kelly Clarkson sings the words with her signature ease, building to an emotional crescendo that's pointless to resist. Nearly a decade after her journey from waitress to American Idol, Clarkson's lack of pretension remains her greatest asset. 2. "Two Weeks" by Grizzly Bear 3. "No Line on the Horizon" by U2 4. "The Fear" by Liliy Allen 5. "Crown on the Ground" by Sleigh Bells 6. (Tie) "Stillness Is the Move" by Dirty Projectors and also Solange 7. "White Liar" by Miranda Lambert 8. "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" by Jay-Z 9. "Sabali" by Amadou and Marium 10. "Mad World" by Adam Lambert www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1945379_1944027,00.html This is fantastic- it's a nice vindication to those of us who have kept praising the song all year among what seems a majority of Kelly fans who like to dismiss it I was 4 hours in the car on sunday and I kept repeating listing to "Sober" over and over again- it was on the entire time and I never listened to anything else- and I would do it again today- just love that song.

I don't dismiss MLWSWY (although I generally listen to the live versions rather than the studio recording). It's a heckuva catchy pop song and a great show closer, and Kelly gives it a lot of feeling.

I think "Breakaway" is like the perfect pop album, but I'm glad to "AIEW" placed so high.

I don't like it as much as most of the other songs on the album but that says nothing about the quality of the song itself.

I'm utterly stunned at AIEW's placing so high, crazy! Though I will say that Kelly AND Beyonce are both so low on the artist of the decade list makes me question the value of it. Green Day had 1 hit album this decade (as far as I know), I don't see how that warrants them the number 1 spot.

Kelly will do more theatrical tours in the future. Scroll to 1:11: _________________________________________________________ This was posted in the 'Already Gone' thread in the Pop forum: The Idolator Interview: Ryan Tedder The year's almost over. Have you made amends with Kelly Clarkson after the whole "Halo"/"Already Gone" drama? Man, I haven't talked to her, to be honest, since that went down. She has my email. Her attorney or somebody from her camp told somebody from my camp that she's willing to work with me again. I was like, oh, thank you. I mean, I'm looking at your song right now and it's #1 for the fourth week on Hot AC, so I'm sorry that I helped with that. I was absolutely livid when that whole thing came out because she had no idea what she was talking about when she said that. Somebody got up in her ear, and she got a bug in her ear. It was how she said it and how she worded it. If I was going around and selling the same track to the biggest artists in the world, how long would my career last? It's ludicrous. And she knows me well enough to know I'm not an idiot. I'm not the kinda guy who's gonna bust my ass for ten years to try and pull a fast one on Beyonce or Kelly. I'm no longer mad about the situation at all. "Already Gone" has just about done as well in America as "Halo" did. She literally wanted to sabotage the song. I'm happy that it saw the light of day, because I actually liked "Already Gone" more than "Halo." I connect with it more. It gave me goose bumps. I've watched girls I've played the song for cry. It's just an emotional, heartbreaking breakup song. I always liked it more than "Halo." Would you consider working with her again, then? As far as working with her in the future, I would-but I d on't know, man. It really is tough to say. I like Kelly a lot. I have nothing but amazing stuff to say about her. Her album just got nominated for Pop Album Of The Year, and I like to think I contributed somewhat with that. She's the easiest person to work with in the studio, and all these other great superlatives. But having said that, it's like, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. And I just don't know that I wanna venture-I don't wanna get some crazy-ass backlash or get my head snapped off for writing a hit song. I do wish her the best, and if we work together in the future, then I will be a happy camper about it and let bygones be bygones. idolator.com/5316661/the-idolator-interview-ryan-tedder

I said this in the Already Gone thread regarding this story, so I may as well say it here as well. How gullible does he think people are when he basically says that his songs with almost identical chord progressions and beat aren't the same track. duh. I'd be p.o.'d too if I were Kelly. He's got a lot of balls trying to make Kelly the bad guy here.

Kelly will do more theatrical tours in the future. Scroll to 1:11: I'll make sure to show her this clip on the next tour if she doesn't hold her word. I would love something more than ordinary going on in her shows not to say her voice is ordinary.

With the release of that Alicia Keys song that is the same chord progression as Already Gone, Ryan Tedder looks REALLY dumb in that interview. That makes not two but three songs that have a very similar track. It isn't just coincidence and it isn't like he can say he doesn't hear it any more. Kelly may have had a lawyer say that she would work with him but I would be SHOCKED if she ever does. Why would she? There are plenty of other people who can give her nice beats that are original and besides, Kelly wrote the majority of Already Gone herself or she wouldn't have 60% of the writing credits on ASCAP.

Hmm, aside from those already released, my favorites are: Cry, Don't Let Me Stop You, All I Ever Wanted, Long Shot. I guess since I too think 2 ballads might be bad, and Long Shot is Perry-esque, I want Don't Let Me Stop You as the next single.
And thanks for Go Back; I hadn't heard it before. I hang my head in shame. I find it much better than the other 2 bonus tracks which I find okay. Hmm, I must really like Benson's production work; he made 3 of the 4 I list and he made Go Back.

That makes not two but three songs that have a very similar track. Make that four songs: Leona's 'Happy' is awfully close to 'Already Gone'. When 'Happy' came out, someone posted someone singing 'Already Gone' to instrumental of 'Happy'. That's also eerily way too similar, and like 'Halo', both songs are/were on the charts the same time :o Already Gone-Happy.MP3 - 2.32MB

From Ryan's interview, I like this the most:
"I was like, oh, thank you. I mean, I'm looking at your song right now and it's #1 for the fourth week on Hot AC, so I'm sorry that I helped with that."
"Her album just got nominated for Pop Album Of The Year, and I like to think I contributed somewhat with that."
She didn't do anything bad at all. She was given a track, wrote lyrics to it, and sang to it.
I'm sure a lot of struggling singers out there would have appreciated the recycled sound that has turned into a pretty big hit. Get over it. He clearly contributed to the album in a big way, enough to do his part and get it nominated for Pop Album of the Year.
I'll take this any day than have KC flop with terrible beats a la MD (Sorry, love the album and even Sober, but that track should have never been released as a single).

I would rather rather listen to an orginal song (Sober/Maybe) and have it flop than a song that sounds like another song (Already Gone/Halo/Happy/Secrets/That Alcia Keys song) and have it be a hit, but that's just me.

She not only wrote the lyrics, she also wrote the melody for Already Gone. You know, the musical part of the song that's different from Halo.

Watching this video makes me sad. She seemed so happy at the beginning of the era. Not to mention she looked amazing. Fast forward a year, too much drama.

It gets old hearing the same song over again and again. If Kelly started doing that (I know she won't) then I would no longer buy her music.
