#31 on iTunes. if this goes to pop chart,i bet this will skyrocket to top 10 easily.this has been steadily on range #35 almost 2 months with less than 300 spins weekly.
#14 on country airplay. a rebound happens.thank god. i be mad to see this peak so low if this sell so high as a country single.
is it normal to have 3.4 millions views on youtube after 5 months for country hit?.....i saw that carrie underwood cowboy casanova has only 2.6 millions views after 7 months.

Nothing about "Pray for You" is normal in terms of it's success within country music. If it were to Not hit the Top 10 it would definitely be because some stations refuse to play it.

As much as I love this song, I have to say that I'm very disappointed with the snippets I heard and will now NOT be buying the CD.

I saw him play at the Opry a few weeks ago, and he kinda reminded me of male version of Taylor Swift.

I watched this video on GAC & it turned me off to this song.

The video for this actually adds the comedic edge that this needed. Otherwise, it could just come off as a mean and abrasive. The video shows what exactly led Jaron to the preacher, and it sure was heck getting there. So, if anything, the video was a good addition to the project. It showed radio that Jaron is not just being a jerk due to disagreements, but rather she abused him to the point of leaving. And through it all, I think she earned her "prayer".

loving him more and more....glad the fans make him a country star.the radio still dont embrace him but glad he is having fanbase that support him. Rather than using the traditional record label formula Jaron posted "Pray for You" on his MySpace page and then proliferated the songs and himself to social networking sites to share himself and his new music with fans. After hearing the song, "Pray for You" and seeing the video, loyal fans that Jaron calls "FRANS" (friend + fan) began gathering in massive numbers calling Country radio all over the U.S. to request the single. not all his songs gonna be hilarious. love his style of writing love music. hopefully he can cross over to pop and hac..... His first single “Pray for You” in less than 6 months has risen inside the Top 20 of country music’s charts; it has had 22 consecutive weeks of sales gains, is the number 2 selling country song in the world and has reached inside 25 out of 200 on the Top Song Charts on iTunes with over 400k singles sold to date and growing weekly. The single was also 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart for four consecutive weeks. Jaron came from nowhere to be 10 on MySpace Country Music Charts, he has over 50k registered fans and growing, his original video has over three million views and along with a few others is at a combined four million views and over 60k unique views a day on YouTube alone. Then when you factor in all the remakes, the other video views of the newer video that is a CMT top 10 and you get over six million views of variations of “Pray for You", one can see why stations and fans are clamoring to get more of Jaron and The Long Road to Love. I quite enjoy "Pray for You" on radio, its funny, and I really like that video too where the girl threatens to electrocute him and smashes his car w/ a monster truck, etc. xD
I listened to the clips of his new album on Amazon though, and it seemed to me that "Pray for You" was 10x better than anything else on it

I don't see this guy or group or whatever staying very hot in country at all. Maybe he'd be better off in pop? Snippets of the album don't sound good at all, and this song, although it has done well, has polarized many country fans and radio stations. From what I've heard of the album, I can't see anything doing much as a follow-up. Maybe I'll be completely wrong here, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the hype for this group will die within a few months...

I agree, I don't think he's going to be able to quite live up to this song with something else on that album, because nothing seemed very interesting from the clips I heard

I don't listen to country radio really anymore, but I happened to catch this video on CMT one day. I have to say, I really like the song. The video is pretty funny too.

I'm going to assume that he is saying that he sent Jaron a message and Jaron replied to him and said that they are going to push the song for pop and hac soon?
OT: Will be interesting to see if Jaron can keep pushing up on the charts with the mixed reviews he is getting from country radio. I actually like the song and hope it continues to do well.

I think this song could do pretty well as a crossover... its only at #14 or so on the country chart, yet its already gotten close to breaking into the Top 40 on the Hot 100 already... which is fantastic, because a lot of country songs don't break into the Top 40 at all or it takes until their close to, or at #1 to do it

I'd like for it to do well on pop, so I don't have to hear it all the time.
Seems Jaron and the promotion team are really just trying to worm their way into everything. This song might not do much more on the country chart, with Lady A and some bigger names moving up quicker while the top end of the chart is stagnant. Maybe it could sneak into the top 10, but I hope not...

I think the song will have a fairly quick "burn rate", so it shouldn't be around for too much longer! Uh, it's 30 weeks old! And I guess I was thinking that maybe it could actually stick around longer...country has embraced it better than expected, I'd say, but if it indeed is going for adds for a crossover, that could cause country radio to keep playing it too, and give it "2nd wind"...

That "Love Like Crazy" song has been on the chart even longer... for like 45 weeks or something?

If you don't listen to pop music, how does it doing well on the pop charts (or bad for that matter) affect you at all? You guessed it. I don't listen to pop. At all. And I never said it doing well on the pop charts would affect me...I just don't like to wish bad things to anyone or any band, regardless of how I feel about a particular song. I think this group would be welcomed more there, too. I was listening to my radio just about an hour ago, and it was playing "I Go Back" by Kenny Chesney, and then it went straight to this. The contrast drove me nuts, so I muted it until the next song came on. I don't like his voice, I don't like the song. All I'm saying is that, if they can be successful go for it. He's making more money than I probably ever will. "Love Like Crazy" is a great song that appeared doomed at one point, only to catch on like crazy. It's traditional country, and in the hands of someone maybe a bit more accomplished at radio, it could easily be a #1. What Lee is doing is incredible, and rarely happens. At 44 weeks old, they're probably going for the record. My point is, country radio would be more likely to embrace a song like "Love Like Crazy" and let it have a long chart run, than embrace a song like "Pray For You". I mean, if you were to go back a year ago and listen to each of these songs, I don't think that there's many people that would say "Pray For You" would do better on radio than "Love Like Crazy".

I'm the opposite. Listening to country radio would have me mute the damn thing the whole time. Much better music to listen to on pop.
However, I can't see this song crossing over as I don't think it has that sound.

I just don't understand how it doing well on pop would help you hear it less? Did I fail to mention that I don't listen to pop music, at all? Not ever? I couldn't tell you anything about any pop artists or current songs. If the song crossed over to there, and dies off in country pretty soon (I already pointed out it was quite old, at 30 weeks, not to mention it isn't posting as big of numbers as many songs around it, AND the chart is pretty stagnant in the top 20), I wouldn hear it less, wouldn't I? Less airplay on country, and I don't listen to pop? Hmm I thought I'd made that clear. Is it clear now? I hope so. Thank you.

^I apolgize for that, but it seems that I was asked a repeated question that I felt was answered quite clearly. If I don't listen to pop music, and the song is possibly nearing its end on country radio (I'd say it's well over half-life, probably three quarters), wouldn't I hear it less? I got a little frustrated, having to answer the same question twice. And I am currently in my basement waiting out a tornado warning, that could have something to do with it.
Apologies if I offended anyone, namely mattyboy and Steelo.
And again, just to make it clear, although I don't care for the song and can't wait 'til I don't have to hear it as much, I wouldn't wish less success to a singer or group just because I disagreed with their music. I'd just wish that they would put out something I like, but of course no one likes all songs at all times.

I was just wondering if you were thinking if it began to get pop airplay it would become less popular on country. Because if you don't listen to pop at all, it becoming a hit over there should not have any affect on you hearing it more or less on country. That is what my question was.

ok....stop the unnecessary fight.jhomes just try not to reply on this page.i know you are a jaron h***r.
other than carrie underwood or faith hill, artists like taylor swift, keith urban, rascal flatt, lady antebellum and shania twain all didnt have first single from debut album as # 1 hit in country format.see how many #1's they have after that.
it is not like i gonna say he will be big or huge like them but i do hope so. this is just the start, the radio didnt embrace new artist like big names do.

Just to offer a different perspective, Jaron h***rs are more than welcome to post here. You lack the authority to demand any such thing. This is not a Jaron fanboard.
Whether that one post was or wasn't up to standard is not for me to say, but the remedy of trying to convince someone to leave the thread is overkill. She apologized, and the fight's over, and I don't know why you think trying to intimidate someone out of posting is a good move right now but you will get resistance if you try it.
Was there a chocolate chip cookie on that plate, indulgecountry? Somehow I've worked up an appetite....
