zazie....i didnt demand that person,i was encouraging/advice jhomes not to come back this thread.it is 2 different thing.so dont criticize me.also, jhomes has been posting other posts that indicate strong dislike on this song, which it again tells me jhomes is jaron h***rs.
oh gosh,i never even say bad words on jhomes...you are just creating something unnecessary.i didnt imitade jhomes. jhomes can come back and post again if he or she likes which i never have authority to block.i just wish he or she can reduce the hates after each time i post about jaron.isnt staying away from something you hate is a good move...
i love the song but people here keep saying bad things on jaron and the song(a bit inching towards trolling),you expect me just always welcome them?
jhomes can speak for himself or herself. your post also indicates you are just irrelevant as much as i am.
ok move on.since no one care much about jaron,i just consider myself the sole fan here.
the album is making a strong debut on country album chart.so happy for him.

I'm curious to see how this does on the charts, too Getting Dressed In The Dark was released this week. We will not know how many copies were sold until next week. P.S.: I have seen the last few posts on this thread. Please PM each other if the discussions are getting out of hand! Thank you!

I personally hope this goes away quite soon, as I tired of it pretty much as soon as i heard it. The song is somewhat clever, although i don't find it as clever as I think many of you do. I just find this to a blatant pop song that has very little business on country radio. I expect it to do well there because that's where it belonged in the first place. I'm quite surprised it has endured as well as it has on country radio, but I guess that's a sign of the times.

I'm quite surprised it has endured as well as it has on country radio, but I guess that's a sign of the times. I do agree with you, there is a "sign of the times" feel about this song's popularity. There's almost a "look at me, look how daring and clever I am" feel as well. And I have a bit of sympathy for that, too -- because this would have been ignored by country radio 10 years ago (or 20, or 30) and I would have still thought it was a weak song but I would have supported it against country radio's defensiveness. So I do think it's OK that the song's idea can find expression on country radio. But the song itself -- its actual words, the vocal performance, the arrangement -- there's nothing there worth caring about. My opinion: It's tedious. It's not funny. (The idea had the potential to be very funny but the execution of the idea, the song itself, falls way short.) It's not as clever as it thinks it is. But I don't think it poses a threat to country music or country radio, so I can live with it.

Well, Boys Like Boys, if you read all my posts correctly and thoroughly, you would indeed understand that, yes I don't care for the song...but where did I say that I hated Jaron? I said I wished he and his band success multiple times, and that if he indeed was going to stick around country that hopefully any follow-up singles would be ones that I appreciate. Like I said in my last post, not everyone likes all songs. I even apologized for my first post, because upon re-reading it, I saw how it could come off as a bit harsh. And then still, you basically demand that I leave the thread. Well, I don't believe that I've said anything wrong as far as my opinion of this song or any song, for that matter goes. There are other people who don't like the song, there are many who do. You don't like all country songs, but you don't see me getting all up in your case, do you? I'll take some chocolate chip cookies as well. I had a rough day at work, and I'm not feeling the best. If you could work some up, indulgecountry, that would be awesome.

I don't care if you've had a rough day. Sympathy doesn't work here.
If you don't like a song and/or artist, do like me and don't read the thread. It avoids this kind of crap from happening.

I don't feel the need to explain myself but I will. I don't care for that song but as an artist, she's one of my faves so I wish her success. I am behind her no matter what choices the label makes for her as a single.
I like this song, so I'm behind him as well for this single. HUGE difference, and again, if you wanted to get hostile towards me, you should have done it via PM.

My comment about the rough day was meant to be a nice part of the closing line, in that cookies would make it better. Trying to lighten up. I didn't sense any hostility. You said you like Miranda, just not her song. I said I didn't have anything against Jaron and wished him success and that hopefully I'd like follow-up singles. I don't see any difference. I believe I'm entitled to read any threads, post opinions AND explain them, and engage in discussion. Or at least that's what the pulse country board rules say. But I really don't have anything else to say about Jaron and the song, as I've said it all and even repeated a few times, to clarify. Maybe I'll feel like discussing more in this thread, but again according to rules, as I've said all I need to say at this current point in time, I'm getting tired of senseless rambling now, so I'll talk to y'all later some time.

"gives back plate of cookies..."
Alright back to the song, I wonder how much higher it can go, it had been climbing pretty decently since Big Machine started to promote it, but it seems to be leveling out. I was hoping for a top 10 for this.

Yeah, I don't think its gonna get much higher because of the competition its up against with virtually all the spots ahead of it taken up and not going anywhere at this point in time

Boys Like Boys, you have been way out of line in your most recent posts here. That you took dislike for this song so personally is completely inappropriate for this board and I was remiss in not calling you out on it earlier (my apologies to all, the last few weeks have been crazy busy). Here is a list of the Country forum rules that you have violated. You should be sure to read the whole list before posting again in this forum. 3. No one-liners: Again, the Pulse Country forum is not to be treated as a chatroom. If you like a song, don't drive by with an "I love this song!! :)" and then leave. Explain why you do, referencing specific aspects of vocal performance, lyrics, melody, production or other elements of a song. If you dislike a song, don't drop in with a "This song sucks" and leave. Explain why you have your opinion, referencing specific aspects of vocal performance, lyrics, melody, production, or other elements of a song. Once you have expressed and explained your opinion, don't repeat yourself just because someone disagrees. Don't post again in the thread unless you genuinely have something new and substantive to say. Don't treat discussion as a place where you have to have the last word.7. Post about songs, not about each other: Don't post to judge people who agree or disagree with you about a song. You are free to agree or disagree with someone else's opinion. But personal insults or otherwise dismissive judgments of fellow posters are inappropriate for this board. 9. Don't post consecutively: If you have something new to say and no one has posted in a thread since the last time you did, either wait until someone else has posted before commenting or edit your new thoughts into your most recent post. And please, spare us all further histrionics about how victimized you feel as some kind of lonely Jaron fan here. It is not your place to suggest to another poster that s/he not post in this thread. It is against board rules to call someone else a "hater" simply because s/he dares dislike a song. If you find yourself unable to take dislike of a song, then you should find yourself a Jaron fan board whose rules demand nothing but complimentary posts. Pulse is a music discussion board, not a fan board, which means people are allowed to express their opinions as long as their posts are substantive and within board rules. And as a reminder to everyone, there's no requirement that people only read the threads for songs they like and it isn't appropriate to suggest that they do so. After all, songs can make for interesting chart discussion whether we like them or not. I can understand being frustrated at the chatty exchange between jhomes87 and joey2002 about a song that they dislike -- neither of them offered much substance to explain their opinion about the song. But both at least offered some chart-relevant analysis to assess this song's prospects of going top-10. The tangent about this song's chart prospects on other formats would have been fine if limited to a few posts, until posters tried to make this personal. Enough is enough. Back to discussing this song and its chart prospects on the country format. If you continue to have issues with each other, take it to PM if you don't want to attract more warnings from the staff.

Yeah, I don't think its gonna get much higher because of the competition its up against with virtually all the spots ahead of it taken up and not going anywhere at this point in time Yeah, the song is up against some tough competition above it, and Lady A will zoom on past it pretty soon. I would guess that this comes close to the top 10 - maybe peaking at #11 or #12? If they keep promoting it however, and it hangs in there for a while, it wouldn't really surprise me to see a top 10 peak - around #7 or #8. So yeah ... it's a tough call. Yeah, my bet is that it won't make the Top 10... I think the best it can do would be maybe #12 To move up it needs to have Miranda start falling faster (although she isn't at this point) and a song or two has to go ahead of it (like Reba, who is about as high as she'll get)

If they keep promoting it however, and it hangs in there for a while, it wouldn't really surprise me to see a top 10 peak - around #7 or #8. So yeah ... it's a tough call. Let's take a look at the Billboard chart of 7/10 -- Jaron's probably getting passed by Uncle K, so he'll be at 15 if Martina stays on and 14 if she leaves. But we all know that Lady A is going to pass Jaron soon. So he's really 5th in line (not counting Martina, since I don't think she'll get there) for the top 10. So we're looking at a 31-week-old song that's 5th in line for a top 10 nobody wants to drop out of. Maybe age isn't a big problem, since Lee Brice and Uncle K are even older. But waiting for 5 songs to leave? That's a big problem. Reba, Clay, Miranda, Jason -- that's only 4 and it will be 5 weeks before they're all gone. I guess Jaron can make it, but only if he's got another 7 weeks in his chart run. And of course by then there'll be Billy C, Little Big Town, who knows what else to contend with. #12 wouldn't be a bad finish, though. Yeah, my bet is that it won't make the Top 10... I think the best it can do would be maybe #12 To move up it needs to have Miranda start falling faster (although she isn't at this point) and a song or two has to go ahead of it (like Reba, who is about as high as she'll get)

Yep, thanks for that, I just found out today via Roughstock
I'm impressed that it debuted so high, I was expecting more like #5 or so... although if you look at the #s it wasn't competing with anything other than the unstoppable Lady Antebellum

A pretty weak week if you will, however. I'm not too surprised with the albums sales...it's obviously a bit of a following--some country, some pop...and as has been mentioned, "Pray For You", while slowing up on the country chart, is still doing incredibly well in the digital department. I don't think it will crack top 10 on country, but it has done very well, easily getting the job done and then some. They should have a follow-up single ready to go by now. I've heard some snippets of the other songs, but not any of the full songs...nothing really blew me away...some of the lyrics look decent, but I think the main reason I dislike it (at this point--that could change) is the fact that Jaron's voice just kinda rubs me the wrong way. I've had that with Luke Bryan and Justin Moore at times, and also newcomer Troy Olsen and Chuck Wicks. Those are the main guys, and for the ladies it's sometimes Kellie Pickler and most of the time (lately anyway) Jewel. I think they all have good voices, but sometimes it's the song that they showcase their voices on, where their singing just rubs me the wrong way. Hopefully Jaron's next single will not fall into that category, but I don't really have high hopes for that yet at this point...

^ This is not a band, its just a stage name... he is Jaron and the Long Road to Love... there's no separate band known as the Long Road to Love performing with him at the front

They should have a follow-up single I'm aware that it is just Jaron. I found that out about 2 weeks ago. I'm assuming you saw the above line, and what I meant when I said "they" was Jaron and his label/promotion team.

Before you edited your post, you also said something about "disliking this band" --------- Anyways, I think this is done on country and I'm curious to see what they will release next... my guess would be the "Petals Back on the Rose" song (or whatever its called if I got it wrong)

I don't quite think "Pray For You" is done yet on country...Jaron might be able to stay ahead of Lady A, as I noticed Lady A is on pace for a slower week (but still among the greatest gainers). Lady A just might not be able to quite catch Jaron...it's still hard to say, however, with 3 more days of data to come in. Whether or not Jaron is ahead of Lady A this week won't matter much in the long run, because he wouldn't be able to stay ahead. Billy is having a big week, and there's more competition coming up too. I think Jaron will probably gain a few more spots yet, but that's it. Maybe a peak in that 11-13 range...

^This post is edited too, but I don't feel the need to comment too much more on whether or not you believe that I still somehow think Jaron and TLRTL is a group (even though I already said I learned otherwise nearly 2 weeks ago). I would find it quite odd, or creepy even, if you were somehow an expert at decifering everything that I say. In that post I had to go back and change some spelling mistakes. Usually when I post something like "I know it's just Jaron. I found that out about 2 weeks ago," I expect my declaration to be believed. I was under the belief for a long time that it was a group, yes, but I've done my research. In a recent post or two I may have mentioned I didn't like the band's production on this song--that would be referencing the studio band, as I'm sure Jaron didn't play every single instrument we hear on "Pray For You" (if he is, dang he's talented). So I do apologize for any confusion there. These 10 sentence paragraphs are tough enough to read when they're about a song. When they're to another poster, it is downright unbearable. Can you please just PM the person? As for the song, I am still shocked at how well it did. I have known about Jaron for almost 10 years and never would have guessed he'd ever have a country hit and a #2 album.
