Hey--- do you think Carrie already pre-recorded her anthem for sunday, since they always make the Super bowl singers pre-record the vocals and then lip sync live? just curious.
I bet she got to do it a few times and they picked the best one. That is much better then having to go live before 140 million people. lol

Oh I'm sure she recorded it already. It's in two days! I read a tweet earlier that she was rehearsing today too. Of course they said she sounded amazing!

Is there any audio or video of Carrie's duet with Harry Connick, Jr. at Clive's Grammy party?

Whoah! Amazing. :o
I wonder if she's singing live? Why else would they need a real rehearsal?

Wow at her going for the last high note without going into head voice. This girl has the best chest voice around. Damn.

I hope she is singing live! That would be fantastic! I love the way that she does the "free" line in full voice. Fantastic!

OMG! Maybe she isn't having a pre-recorded track! That was really, really outstanding!
If she isn't, it has to be a first. Maybe she could hear the backing track and we couldn't because it wasn't on TV.....

Very very good! That was a wonderful performance and the full voice on the climatic "free" was thrilling! Way to go Carrie!

I almost don't want to watch it so I'm surprised for tomorrow. Does she do it acapella or with a backing track?

Maybe she could hear the backing track and we couldn't because it wasn't on TV..... they will have a pre recorded track. the NFL requires it (apparently Garth Brooks had a falling out with NBC and almost went through with a threat not to perform on the day itself and that left the SB folks scrambling to find someone to sing the anthem at the last minute), so the NFL has required a pre recorded track ever since. for all we know, this rehearsal was recorded however, the artist may choose not to use it. according to this article, Ricky Minor insisted on Hudson using it last year. but it seems that maybe the artist can choose not to follow his advice lol. i wouldnt be surprised if carrie insisted on doing it live. abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/WinterConcert/story?id=6788924&page=1edit: i just realized the vegas oddsmakers are going to check this out, there's a line for carrie singing it over/under 1:42

Okay, I gave in. That was INSANE! She was absolutely singing live. I'm kinda sad that we won't be getting a full blown orchestral version with strings and horns, though. :(

New concert in Winnipeg in June!!! @ctvwinnipeg: Country music singing sensation to perform in Winnipeg bit.ly/9hQGoO (expand) ^ yeah her performance was spectacular and it looks like she is doing it live! I do also enjoy the orchestral backing, but maybe this acapella version will blow people away. I know some people prefer a simple, pure version like Carrie does, and others prefer the fancy riffs that Whitney and Jen Hudson did, etc. I guess it is just your personal preference. I am weird because I love both versions. lol

if she sings live like this i actually don't want an orchestra! We'll see. I can't wait to hear her in front of a full orchestra (e.g. So Small, Change) It's pretty rare to get the chance to and not to be expected perhaps on any other part of her tour. Perhaps she'll utilize them for more than her regular PLAY ON set. More jazz songs?? :)

new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/vivanashvegas/21155/acting-isnt-a-temporary-home-for-carrie-underwood/;_ylt=AuRWBiKFhi2Be5KZNoXa_TTzvSUvActing Isn't A "Temporary Home" For Carrie Underwood It appears Carrie Underwood really is serious about branching out into acting. The American Idol first made news this year with her upcoming cameo on the sitcom How I Met Your Mother (you can see a pic of her with HIMYM regular Neil Patrick Harris here; the episode will air next month). Now it's just been announced she will appear in a full-length movie. Carrie's film debut, Soul Surfer, chronicles the story of Bethany Hamilton, the Kauai-based champion surfer who lost her left arm at age 13 to a shark attack. Underwood will play the part of Hamilton's friend and church youth leader, Sarah Hill. Other stars set to appear in the film are Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, Kevin Sorbo, and Lorraine Nicholson (daughter of the legendary Jack Nicholson). Filming begins this month, so Carrie's set to fly to Hawaii right after she delivers the National Anthem at this Sunday's Super Bowl XLIV. This role sounds like it will be a good fit for Carrie, who is certainly no stranger to conveying tales of faith through her music. In fact, you can get a glimpse at her acting chops in this very arena, via her new video for "Temporary Home." You all are familiar with the touching lyrics, which hit a climax at the end when the "old man in the hospital bed" begs his family not to cry, because "I'll see you all someday." In the video, Carrie actually plays this scenario out for you to watch--and probably shed a tear or two over (unless, of course, you have a heart made of stone). Click here to check the video out for yourselves, and let me know what you think. She's not too bad at this thespian gig so far, is she?
