As a singer, singing in front of a full orchestra is truly amazing! My grandfather who was a professional singer at one point says it over and over again to me. "Singing a cappella is one thing, leading an orchestra is another." Not only do you feel powerful yourself, you're leading a full orchestra full of individual musicians, the feeling is unbelievable. There is such a rush of emotions, unique as in they're different from any typical live performance with a back track/band. This is why I would love to see Carrie sing the Anthem with an orchestra. Not only would she feel that way, her vocals would be powerful enough to make us all feel that rush of emotions as well. I really hope she does, but hey, I'm happy she is singing the Superbowl National Anthem, and I'm sure it will be flawless any way she decides to do it.

^ yeah that is why I was kind of excited about the orchestra too. But I am also excited to hear her do it acapella again too, because very few artists can do that.
So in some ways, the lack of an orchestra and the lack of fancy riffs in Carrie's version will set her apart from everyone else. Almost every singer in the last several years has used fancy vocal riffs, etc, and while they all sounded great...it would set Carrie apart from the rest to do it her way, acapella.
Has anyone done the anthem acapella at the Superbowl before? just curious.

I've performed with an orchestra before in college... It's quite a rush.
In other news, "Temporary Home" went top 10 on Country today! :)

In other news, "Temporary Home" went top 10 on Country today! :) Just got to top 10 on Mediabase. However, it was top 10 on Billboard already for the week ending Jan 31 :) Billboard country songs chart |

Just a heads up, this site said that to view in HD I had to download some kind of video player blah blah, and I did, and it proceeded to give me a trojan. So, be careful and don't download it. If you did, scan your computer asap. And on a Carrie note, I saw on a commercial for the Palm Pre, they had Cowboy Casanova playing on the phones media player and I thought it was cool. |

I'm really anticipating the next single, Temporary Home is a great video but I'm just tired of the song. I think there's a strong possibility it'll either be Quitter or Songs Like This, possibly even Undo It but I think the former two have the best chances, and will have the best reception.

The National Anthem is usually performed right before the games starts. The game starts @ 6:30 PM EST. I suggest maybe start watching about 20 minutes before. |

I very much doubt that the NFL would knowingly allow visitors of the site to become infected. |

That was okay. The rehearsal was WAY better. She was straining kinda hard at parts... Wish she woulda just done it with the orchestra. :(
