LOL. You had just admitted proof wouldn't change your mind. Or do you just not know what that term means? You poor dear. The YouTube clips that you would provide would do absolutely nothing to support your opinion (they certainly wouldn't prove anything) and nothing of what I said was contradictory. Madonna has a "good enough" voice but you'd be hard pressed to find many (if any) artists that she could "blow off the stage" vocally (and Justin certainly isn't one of them). |

Wyclef is such an ugly ass fraud. That b***h had the nerve to say he was in Haiti puling out bodies from the rubble, when he was really in Miami shooting a video. They also said his Haiti fund organization was embezzling money for their own use. I coulda done without seeing that thing there. I thought I heard that those reports were bullshit? |

Honey, what other videos can you show? Madonna is flat and off-key 95% of the time, and that's being generous. Ignorance is not bliss it seems. She has some really awkward performances, like the vocals are so weird you wonder if she was taking the piss, but she is usually good. She can belt (what you all consider good singing) more than people know, as she usually reserves it for her tours. |

Her Madgesty came in late on that one part, but she sounded good. Just because she doesn't have a big wailing voice doesn't mean she's not a capable singer- she is. In any event, it's not her vocal prowess that made her the most important performer since she debuted for her vocal prowess, but for a combination of factors- voice, songs, great videos and stage shows, tackling cultural mores in her work, etc. etc. etc. Look at the acts with big, powerful voices are not all that highly regarded as artists (i..e. Mimi, Celine Dion)
Most of the acts gave nice performances. Alicia Keys was great, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Jay-Z and company- all good.

^No, she's known for a combination of things. When she delivers a good vocal, it's just gravy. She's a capable singer, and it's worked for her just fine- she more than compensates when it comes to the full package, which other acts don't have. That's what makes her MADONNA and everyone else The Rest. :) This was loads better than her take on "Imagine" for the Tsunami telethon.
In any event, good on all the performers for giving of their time and talents for an important event.

Really interesting discussion on Haiti and the relief and recovery efforts there, everyone.
In seriousness, I know this is a music board and it's natural that tonight's performances (and their relevance to the purpose of the night) would be discussed. I am certainly not saying that tonight's performers should be immune from music-based critiques (or compliments).
But it feels to me that this petty talking-past-each-other on this page is especially inappropriate given the spirit of the show. I don't think it's too much to ask that you show some maturity and cast the sniping aside in this thread at least.

A few days ago Pras stated on 106 & Park that he would have to sit down and talk to Wyclef if he thought something was fishy about the money getting to the Haitians, and that was before Wyclef was accused of that. |
