Eminem is the only straight up rapper. Bad Robot is on the money. It's not fair to put those others in the same category as Eminem. "Tik Tok" - Kesha (Not a rapper) "Imma Be" - Black Eyed Peas (a couple wanna be rappers) "Break Your Heart" - Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris (a r&b singer) "Rude Boy" - Rihanna (a r&b singer) "Nothin' on You" - B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars (A rapper who also sings in most of his stuff) "OMG" - Usher featuring will.i.am (a r&b singer) Actually, The Black Eyed Peas are rappers. BEP have material before they added Fergie. It's way different from what they have been putting out over the past 7 years. I guess Fergie is the same as Ke$ha, not a rapper.

Glee Cast is now the #5 group of all-time with the most Hot 100 appearances. But is it really fair to compare them with groups and individuals who took years and in some cases even decades to reach their position on that all-time appearances list? Especially since every single one of the Glee songs are remakes and not originals? I'm not so sure it is.

Eventually Glee Cast will be #1
Statistics are what they are
Analysis of statistics would fall into a different category
They have 3 or 4 songs chart each week during the season and all have fairly quick chart runs.
In my opinion, with all those chart entries, they have really only 1 entry that I would believe to be an actual "hit" (Don't Stop Believin')
The others in the category of 50+ appearances have had many hits

GaGa has 3 songs in the Top 40! GET IT! didnt expect it can reach as far as #7 even without a video, yet this girl is unstoppable..even for a slow tempo song congrats Gaga ur one of the few artists who managed to get the 7 (and counting) singles from the first 2 albums! i dont buy those top 40 from a single album thing...come on, top 40 is so easy to get thru nowadays thanx to the digital chart thingy!

Yes, with the digital age and such instant availability of tracks, the "Glee" cast undoubtedly will have the most Hot 100 entries for a group (and possibly among all acts). As mentioned, though, the bulk are short0lived entries, so they won't be threatening any other records (i.e. ranking of top acts based on weekly rankings).
Here 4- it's not that I was SO waiting for "I Gotta Feeling" to continue its impressive run- I'm surprised at its continued staying power. I'm sure the Black Eyed Peas are pleased- but I wonder if they go around and constantly mention its success before performing it. ;)

"Ke$ha's "Your Love Is My Drug" rises 8-7, a spot ahead of yet another top 10 entry by Lady Gaga. Gaga's "Alejandro" (11-7) is her seventh straight radio single to reach the top 10. The last female artist to launch a career in such fashion was Monica, who also placed her first seven charting songs as a lead vocalist in the top 10 from 1995-1999. Gaga's streak has taken her all of 17 months."

"Find Your Love" is already Top 20. It will most likely be a Top 5 hit. Unfortunately looks like "Over" is gonna miss the Top 10. Great to see "Unthinkable" reach the Top 40! Wow, never knew Monica was so successful back then. :o

I think Katy could still hit #1 next week. She's #2 on iTunes still and has millions more audience impressions at radio than "Can't Be Tamed"

Am I correct that the highest airplay debuts are:
#2 Madonna - Erotica (1992) #9 Janet Jackson - All For You (2001)
Have any other songs debuted in the airplay top ten?

Katy won't get #1 next week. Her digital sales lead over OMG has fallen and OMG's airplay is gaining just as fast as Katy's is, although I don't understand how considering Katy just released this track and OMG has been out for at least 6 weeks now... anyway, the fact is I think we're going to have to wait until OMG peaks at airplay before Katy can top the chart. If OMG follows B.O.B.'s lead, are we looking at about 140 million impressions for a peak? Or is this blowing up at urban too like Rude Boy? Usher IS considered an urban/R&B artist but OMG is definitely more pop-urban than soul R&B-urban. But I don't know how that format operates and who and what they decide to play...

Yeah, if OMG blows up at urban, look out. This would have the potential to go over 130M on mediabase.

What is it that presses you so much about Mariah, Holidayguy? You take every opportunity to, in your mind, knock her down a peg. And don't try to act like you're a fan, or "a fan of her debut album."

Silly 4Mimi- tricks are for kids, darling. ;) And, people are free to believe what they wish in regards to my likes and dislikes- makes no difference to me, as I know what I like and don't like- my purchasing habits tell me as much. But thanks to those who are so interested in what I may or may not have meant by a comment. Thanks.
badrobot- those are the highest debuts. "All For You's" debut especially impressive, as it achieved that debut when all formats were part of the Hot 100 Airplay panel..

You've been exposed too many times to be keeping this attitude... I suggest you drop it ;) Just admit you don't like her and let's get this over with. I don't like Madonna and I'm not afraid of saying it.

There is current relevancy each week, anytime a current song (such as I Gotta Feeling) is compared to historical hits (like those from Mariah like We Belong Together) This could naturally lead to other Mariah related discussion (although no longer producing hits, still a big deal on this site)
