Announcement today that Lee DeWyze's debut single, "Live It Up", off his album of the same name, will debut on Ryan Seacrest's radio show next Wednesday (10/13).
I have a feeling this song may end up be targeted more to Hot AC than CHR, but we'll see.
ETA - on Tuesday, 10/12, Lee announced that debut single would be Sweet Serendipity -- NOT the previously announced Live It Up
why the last second switch, RCA???

That's probably his best bet. I can't imagine CHR will pick up anything he releases unless it seems to catch on elsewhere.
I hope it's a good song. I liked Lee and I'd like to see him surprise some people.

If the song is good, I think RCA could push it to top 20 in Top 40. If it isn't, then probably not.
Funny though how the 1st singles of both latest AI winners start with the word "Live."

The writers of the CD have had a ton of CHR hits, so dont judge it too quickly. I think this could do well on CHR.

I expect a rock song (which is not what's in with CHR atm), so I expect Top 20 at best. However, I hope it'll be better than Cook's bland stuff.

From USA Today's Idol ChatterThe description makes it sound like it'll be too mellow for CHR (despite having the stable Idol pop cowriters).

Yeah... aside from 'I'm Yours' Mraz hasn't been really big on CHR so I don't expect this song to do anything.

Tody Gad also co-wrote Allen's The Truth and Iraheta's Scars. Let's just say he doesn't have a good track record with Idols so far. lol

How can y'all talk about a song that is yet to be released like this? LOLOLOL! Wait and hear the song first before you make any predictions. How can LLWD be compared to a song that doesn't even exist. hahahaha.

I think the first single will get played, regardless. The record label will make sure it gets out there. The question is, will he get a second single on CHR and have any real presence or selling power. Im afraid that since last season was so lackluster, nobody will buy this album. Kris Allen round 2 in sales? Could be.
Im hoping it smashes though, i really like him.

LOL how do you know? LLWD was upbeat and catchy and it had a lot of push, of course it could do it. Lets wait and listen to this one first. I hope he does well.

LOL i expect something David Cookesque. I dont know how much of the same kind of idol radio can stomach. Live it Up sounds like too much of a happy go lucky sounding title for someone with teary Dewyze eyes lol you know? i was surprised they went with that title. hopefully it means the album will be kinda upbeat.
im really curious to hear how this song sounds

I'm just going off of what I've heard from Lee's pre-Idol stuff. None of it it's very pop. It's more folk rock than anything. And neither Jack Johnson or Jason Mraz are onsistently on CHR charts -- much ore likely to see them on Hot AC (or in Johnson's case, AAA).
Now I suppose it could be poppy enough to make a run on CHR -- I'm just not expecting that.
ETA: LOL, poppy -- not poopy. Sorry, I got like 3 hrs sleep...
