It's whatever. I was expecting a Daughtry/Cook sound but instead I think it's more of a Jason Mraz feel. Verdict still isn't in on whether that's a good or bad thing.

I think this song is a grower. I like it more with each listen.

I definitely thought he was going to go more Alternative. Instead they went with this very Train-esque song. It's pleasant and inoffensive. Nothing special but it's good enough to become a minor hit. Not bad.

Haven't heard this yet, but the title makes it sound extremely corny.

Not bad actually. I'm still not fond of the title, and it's not as good as LLWD, imo, but it could do decent on CHR. Top 20ish if promoted efficiently. I already know that the song is going to be a complete mess live though. LOL

It's really not what I was expecting from Lee. Much poppier sound, less of the whole singer/songwriter folk-rock thing that I think is much more his forte.
This song is ok. Too wordy and without a strong hook, but catchy enough to be a decent hit on CHR. There are certainly a lot worse songs that are pop hits!
In a way, it's sort of like LLWD, which ended up going Top 10 on CHR. But even though both songs are wordy and a pain to try and sing live, IMO, LLWD is the stronger song. That went Top 10 on CHR -- I'm not sure this song will be able to do that, but if RCA pushes it, I can definitely see it going Top 20, anyway.
Good luck to Lee with this

This song is better than anything Kris or David Cook ever released. Those two are Hot AC artists. Lee's song is a real pop song. Should easily make Top 10. Who would have thought?

First album will be Pop and then he'll part from his label like everyone else to make the kind of album 'he wants to make'. Next...

This song is very poppy, but based on Lee's pre idol work it is very clear that he is an HAC/AAA artist. The music that he made on his own leans more towards folksy soft rock.

I think the first five times he sings this live will be trainwrecks- hope he does the shakedown performances somewhere low profile. The syncopation in the chorus seems very tricky and I don't exactly find him the most agile vocalist. "And there are simply too many notes words, that's all. Just cut a few and it will be perfect." LOL, have you heard his pre-idol work? It wasn't pop at all. Unless he does a 180 on his sound, I doubt one poppy song will be enough to declare him as a pop artist. How is this song any poppier than LLWD anyway?

Based on this song, I think he has a good chance to make it on the pop charts. As for Kris and Cook, their last two songs were The Truth and Come Back to me. Hardly pop smashes.

And yet they both had top 20 songs on CHR with their first singles (Kris went top 10 with his). We still don't know if this song will do that. Let's wait until Lee gets more than one hit on CHR before we declare him as more of a pop artist.

WOW! I actually really enjoy this song. I am surprised because I really didn't like him on AI. This song just might be a hit.

It premiered on Ryan's syndicated show, right? Should we expect it to show up on Mediabase top 200 today?

I remember people saying Adam Lambert was an Alternative Rock artist, and now look what he's putting out - I guess fame changes people >:( This is a pretty good song though - the recording I heard off Seacrest sounded kinda amateurish, but maybe that wasn't the real studio version - and yeah it sounds way Jason Mraz

I remember people saying Adam Lambert was an Alternative Rock artist, and now look what he's putting out - I guess fame changes people >:( Heh, Adam wrote pop songs with Monte before AI that would have fit FYE perfectly, those who thought he was an alternative rock artist should have searched for more past youtube videos.. ;) but that's off topic. I didn't hear Lee's past material and didn't have any expectations, yet I like SS personally. I couldn't find SS in the below #51 mediabase update today.. has it not been registered yet by mediabase or did it not reach 5 spins yesterday? ???

LOL, the least we can do is wait until we hear the rest of the songs that are on the album.

I wonder who wrote this... It sounds like Train/Pat Monohan could have written it. The more I listen the more it grows on me.

I find it bland, I don't think it's that catchy, despite being upbeat. And they really made his voice sound pop. really they took the rock sound from it and made it all pop. good luck to him. I hope the rest of the album is more alt/pop-rock than this.

So the 10/25 adds date is for Hot AC? Huh...I would have thought they'd send this to CHR first. Or to both formats at the same time.

Got an adds date for HAC in AllAccess, Oct. 25, but no adds date for POP. I don't think RCA plan to push it to POP much before the album release (since the album is in a month time and it's not going to do much in POP without an adds date..,) maybe they will in early 2011 after the freeze if it's a big enough hit in HAC.

Good job, Lee! It's a really nice-sounding, everyday kind of song. No pretenses with this guy. What you see is what you get.
