STILL not yet #1 on alternative, although I assume it will get there by Sunday.
On active, it might get leapfrogged by Seether in a week or two and never get to #1.

Anyone wanna take a stab at how long it'll stay at #1 on both formats? I'm guessing:
10 weeks on alternative, then "Country Song" may slip in for a week or two. 3-4 weeks on active, then "Country Song" will go #1.

Yeah it only stayed at #1 for like a day and then Cage the Elephant took the top again.
It's managed to climb back to #1 today however.

But again, those are numbers that nobody will recognize when mentioning the success of Rope. Some surveys just don't hold the credibility. Pretty much like nearly all your posts, don't you think?

XM said this morning that Foo Fighters are putting out 2 albums next month. In addition to the obvious, they're releasing a covers album. Anyone heard a thing about this yet? I know they did Wings and Prince & The Revolution on previous singles.

^ I'd say it will, then Seether will hit #1, leaving Papa Roach with no #1. ;)

I think I've heard 6 of the songs so far on satellite radio. First comment is.... is every song about death and ending of life and relationships? If so, is this the great concept album about death Nirvana never made? Second, while there are some propulsive and heavy songs I've heard, there seems to be just as much melody and radio friendliness as any other Fighters album I've heard. Can't wait to hear the entire LP!

I just finishing listening to the whole album. I'll need another few listens for sure to get a real opinion about it, but overall I'm impressed with it. Just from looking at how it sounded overall, I think it was heavier than most of the other albums. Certain tracks just scream "hit single" if they're released, but like I said, I'll have to give it another listen to say which songs reminded me of that.

Honestly, every song I've heard from the album would be an instant hit. But I've been hearing Walk more than anything but Rope, and MLB has adopted it as its theme song. If Walk isn't the next single, I'll be surprised a little.

Bridge Burning should be massive. :) Several sources cite this is rumored to be the second single (again, note there's no confirmation and is only rumored as of today) * As for my take, I believe "Wasting Light" is the best Foo Fighters album since "There Is Nothing Left To Lose". In truth, I've enjoyed all of their material in-between these two eras in varying respects, but they each have glaring flaws to them. With "One By One", the lead two singles were excellent, but beyond that the album largely sounded rushed and lacked memorable songwriting. With "In Your Honor", it is understandable why the band wanted to juxtapose their heavier sounds with a developed, maturing acoustic sound on two separate discs, but all the same it resulted in a considerable share of tracks that are either filler or haven't really caught on among fans, thus making for a less listenable album experience. And "Echoes..." wisely tried merging those two sounds in a single album, but this time around the issue was that some tracks were just tediously long and tended to weigh down the sum of the record. This album is concise, it sounds realized, and is heavily accessible and listenable. I predict six of the album's eleven tracks ("Rope", "These Days", "Bridge Burning", "White Limo", "Arlandria", "I Should Have Known") are sure to emerge as fan favorites/setlist staples over five years from now, and I also believe the album track "These Days" is their single best recording since "Aurora". While I can't really compare between albums since I'm an admittedly casual listener of the Foo Fighters (purchasing Echoes on a whim kind of discouraged me from buying other albums because I did not care for a bulk of those songs), I listened to the album stream and it's very good. I really dug I Should Have Known, Arlandria and Dear Rosemary after a single listen. They've definitely got a whole bunch of songs to pick from for future singles.
I'd have to listen to this album a couple of times to pick personal choices, but still, they'll definitely be able to mine a good chunk of this.

After a second listen, I have a little better of an idea of what forsee as future singles. I also like the album even more after another listen as well. It's definitely on par with what I expected and more.
"Bridge Burning" I don't think would be a horrible choice for maybe the 3rd or 4th single. It's probably too hard for the typical Alternative listener, but I could see doing great on Active. Honestly, the only song I definitely don't see as single material is "White Limo" since that's even harder. I'm hoping for "Walk" to be 2nd although it probably won't be. Also I thought "Dear Rosemary" and "These Days" have potential to be big hits. Really, most of the album I could see doing very well overall and some maybe even crossing over to CHR.

Yes, imported... We don't have iTunes in Brazil. Sounds like yall being ironic, btw its pretty retarted postin prints from the album here to prove something, more retarded yet is believing Im lying about this. I would be proud to lie about ''I got a Foo Fighters concert in my garage this for this weekend'' but not about that.
