I'm surprised Foo Fighters haven't had a #1 album already. Seems strange. Yes, imported... We don't have iTunes in Brazil. Sounds like yall being ironic, btw its pretty retarted postin prints from the album here to prove something, more retarded yet is believing Im lying about this. I would be proud to lie about ''I got a Foo Fighters concert in my garage this for this weekend'' but not about that. ¬¬ I wasn't saying you were lying. I was just replying to Artie's "Did you get it imported?" question, when it clearly says on your profile that you live in Brazil.

I instantly fell in love with "These Days" when I heard it on the radio this past weekend. That's the first time in a while that I reacted so strongly to a Foo Fighters song. Having listened to some more of the album now, this is definitely their strongest effort in years, and there are plenty of strong single contenders here. But "These Days" still strikes me as the one that just NEEDS to be a single.

But "These Days" still strikes me as the one that just NEEDS to be a single. Couldn't agree more. It's their best recording since "Aurora", in my opinion. Which is really saying something in that I'm not quite convinced they'll ever top that epic pinnacle, at least as far as emotional density/ambiance is concerned. But "These Days", despite not having quite the airy, atmospheric pensiveness and gentle touch that still makes "Aurora" an unmatched triumph in their catalog, is about as effective in its bare-boned, bleeding-heart honesty, both in the reflective verses and cathartic chorus. I agree with These Days. But I'd say Walk is the best song on the CD for me. So far.

HDD projected the album to sell 215-225K (enough for their first #1)

^ Those are REALLY good numbers for first-week album sales... get it Foos! I'm not surprised by those figures one bit. I've said before (around the same time I argued that 3 Doors Down wouldn't even come close to the Foo Fighters in a hypothetical chart showdown before the former's album was moved to July) that I think a significant number of their fans who couldn't help but feel depleted during the "Echoes..." era felt immense reassurance prior to even "Rope" being released hearing that the band recorded this record in Grohl's garage, without any computers, that it would be their heaviest album yet, that Pat Smear had officially reunited with the band, and would also feature a reunion of sorts (minus Cobain) of those who brought us "Nevermind". The promotion behind this album has simply been brilliant. I've read multiple articles/editorials these past several days even talk exclusively about how original and creative the promotion behind this album has been. And these figures demonstrate that excellent promotion does pay off. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

I was a little surprised. I actually thought they had the promotion to pull in 450 thousand from the gate.

The chances of that happening in today's musical climate are slim to none.

Very slim indeed. But if any band had momentum and promotion going in to do that, it certainly would've been Foo Fighters. But relatively speaking, still blockbuster sales for this so far.

Well it's probably obvious that all releases will have a tape snippet included until the tape runs out lol Did you get one when you bought a copy of the album, Artie?

With Rope comfortably atop all 3 major rock airplay charts, it may be a little early for a second single topic. Is there really anyone who DOESN'T think Walk will be the summer anthem and the next single?

Yep. Me. I'm voting for "Arlandria" or "These Days".

Yeah, I thought "These Days" would be the more obvious choice. I still can't stand "Rope" btw.

Not sold on Arlandria yet as a single. These Days is way too obvious, but would work obviously. I think there was a reason Walk was announced as the lead single. Rope isn't my favorite, but turned out to be a successful release.

I think "Arlandria" is my favorite track on the album. But I think "Walk" will be next since it is (or was at least) near the Top 50 on alt and active.

I've heard Walk on TV so much lately. Foo Fighters played it as the first song on their Letterman concert. It's the theme song for one of the biggest movies of the summer. Sounds automatic. This is when they throw the curve ball and release White Limo, another excellent choice.
EDIT: And also performed on Saturday Night Live apparently.

Looks like this could spend another 2-3 weeks at #1.

I think a fair over/under for weeks at #1 before it was released would've been ten. I agree it looks like it will pass that.
